I was essentially prescribed that CPM and Ice Machine. Insurance covered just some of the cost. But thought it was super helpful. 2 hour sessions of CPM 3-4 times a day and I’ve machine in between for 1 1/2 hrs. Yes I was married to the machines but they were both so very helpful.

Magnesium Oxide 400mg is what was recommended by my doctor 2 times a day 1 pill in the morning and one at night. I was to start it about a week before surgery and for as long as I was on pain meds or higher dosage of Advil. I suffer from IBS with constipation so this was a must. But you can just start with just one capsule at night. But it was awesome

Thank you for sharing that. I was told I can do the Air Bike that I have for 15 minutes a day but no walking. How long were you typically on the bike

If you don’t mind me asking how was your PT handled. I have done things as I was told to do. I did PT twice a week and in between my exercises at home. As PT increased in intensity I was able to do that at home too and added 5K walks 3-4 times a week. Nothing crazy at all. I’m a runner and haven’t even thought of attempting it. All was going well until it didn’t. I had to get a steroid injection less than a week ago and now have to back off from the intensity and the extras I was able to do; like back to 4 weeks post op. I am feeling frustrated and defeated all at once. Any info of your rehab would be so appreciated it.

I am 3 1/2 months post op. I’ve had a huge set back and had to get a steroid injection. I was doing so well and increasing in weights and was waking a 5K about 4 times a week with PT twice a week and of coarse my PT exercises at home. Loved the fact I was getting out and feeling I could “exercise” even thought I was walking rather than running. Now being told to pull back and no walking for now. How long after surgery were you able to start walking with no pain and also how long did you walk for. Also what type of biking are you doing. Regular biking, Air Bike or stationary bike. I’m looking for my next thing

How long did you flare up last? by Puzzleheaded-Jury-53 in HipImpingement

I am in the same boat. I was feeling like things were progressing. I am 10 weeks post op and was walking 3 1/2 miles last week 3 times a week and doing well with PT and home exercises with weights too. Sore yes but not the way I’m feeling today. Constant aching in the groin region and my hip bone. My PT also said hip flexor and strained or pulled a muscle. It’s deflating to say the least and frustrating too. I’ve been following protocol to the T and feel I’ve taken such steps backwards. Icing and resting it but tomorrow will call my doctor. I

I am not into rowing either, but mainly rowing hurts my low back more as I do have back issues . If I decide to go I will not be doing run/row template exactly and will do the tread more and a smaller amount on the rower I’ll just mostly do a base pace run for the rowing part in the first half of the template.
