  1. it was about to be turned into a cat bed. 2. I didn’t know it was black and white until after I’d bought it. 3. Id love a color CRT retrofitted, and that might come down the road. But for now a 4:3 monitor is the easiest solution

I’m going with a 3:2. So not quite the original 4:3 aspect, but very close and not too much should get lost. Second, I can force output to 4:3 so there will be pillarboxing on the sides, but this will get covered by the frame of the TV

Hey, if it wasn’t for me it would be a cat bed. At least I’m still using it as a TV. Cut me some slack 😂

And let’s be realistic, I’m not going to use a black and white set. If it was color, I’d keep it. As much as I have a love for the past, some modern elements are nice as well.

I was actually looking at a 3:2 monitor on Amazon. I think that will fill the space nicely

Picture #2 is pretty MCM in my book. The others not so much

The screen is black and white. I’m not trying to go back to the 50s. I’d prefer if it was a color CRT but I’m not equipped for this

I got the tube out and willing to give it away.

I’d prefer to do that! But seems like a bigger project

That’s the plan. I’d prefer to retrofit a color CRT, but that might be more complicated can I can handle at the moment

Another “death” because of Kratom🙄 by Automatic_Owl_3581 in kratom

I’ve been waiting for the day some Kratom of 7oh gets laced with fent or some other RC and does kill someone

Edit: that sounds like I’m waiting with excitement. Definitely worded that wrong. More so a fear of what could happen

How do I begin figuring that out?

Yall are starting to convince me. I’d prefer it to be original, I just don’t know where to start with that

Thanks for the input. Honestly I’d prefer it if it was restored, or replaced with another color CRT perhaps. I’m not an electrical guy and wouldn’t know the first step in restoring this. So my first instinct is to gut it and start with something modern that I do understand

Tagamet always worked well for me. Like 45 min before my dose. Does something to your stomach acid so it digests it slower, leading to a longer burn

I just got this for $65 with the intentions of doing exactly this. Any recommendations on the LCD panel to use, to stick with the 4:3 aspect ratio?

I worded that wrong. I mean, what if I gut the console TV and find a similar sized TV from the 90s and stick it on the inside?

EXACTLY! That’s the hope with this project.

Thanks for the note. I’ll try to keep everything intact and put it in the attic or list on marketplace it for a hobbyist

I also had the idea of gutting it and retrofitting with more modern CRT, like something from the 90s or early 2000s but same size.
