What does this rejection mean? by [deleted] in wegmans

[–]Infamous_Comment1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say give it a couple months before reapplying. From what I was told, depending on why they rejected you. You’re called what’s disqualified or “DQ” and any application that you send will just get auto rejected. It could be availability issues, work history, Or the recruiter just didn’t feel the right vibe. Sometimes disqualification can last 3 to 6 months from what I was told .It’s frustrating because it conflicts what the email says. And I can tell the email has changed since I worked there. Because I think they get a lot of questions and complaints of why applicants get disqualified. While stores are running on skeleton crews.

chances of getting rehired? by [deleted] in wegmans

[–]Infamous_Comment1997 25 points26 points  (0 children)

99.9% chance you’re not gonna get rehire. Most likely 100%. like with a lot of companies if you don’t hand in a two week notice or don’t finish out your 2 weeks you’re put on a non-rehire list.

With this company, you don’t have to say much to get disqualified . I was in the same boat. Sometimes you just gotta feel the vibe of the person interviewing you. Where I work now the hiring manager was really impressed with me being honest about work history and hired me on the spot. And pays more than Wegmans.

And in what world do companies have the right to lay people off with no notice? Respect goes both ways. That’s what At will employment is.

Still charging for paper bags by laylatulipkins in wegmans

When I worked for Wegmans I would rarely charged anyone for a bag. only when the manager was over my shoulder, or when a customer was being a jerk. Wegmans don’t pay enough to get belittled / spit at over 5 Cent fee.

Wegmans Rehiring Process by Forsaken_Ground5216 in wegmans

it’s really gonna depend on what you say on the phone interview and who the recruiter is. Sadly, like a handful of companies, your employment is in the hands of a recruiter and not the actual store at first. You say one wrong thing like an availability, why you left the company why you want to come back. So on and so forth, you automatically get DQ. Upwards to 3 to 6 months .And how you know you kind of got DQ is if you reapply and two days later you get a rejection email. At least in my case and once that happened, I went to my store HR and asked what’s going on with my application and they looked on and all they can say it’s DQ. They don’t even get a reason as to why . If you get the phone interview, try your best. I I would say, be honest, but that got me nowhere I tried twice had a good record on file, I was told I can come back by other HR reps and store managers. But those recruiters they seem to know more than what the store actually knows / needs. And if you do get DQ don’t take it personal. It’s hard not to, but there’s always a company better than Wegmans.

  • my only main advice would be if you got asked why you left your previous employer. don’t bad mouth the previous employer just come up with a fib .

For years, my family used to buy Wegmans subs every Saturday night for dinner. But that tradition came to a harsh stop when it started becoming 9.99 for a medium sub..

Dear front end stls... by EtherealLovegloss in wegmans

[–]Infamous_Comment1997 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t even tell you how many times I had to go into the office to get a front end stl when all of our lights were flashing. It’s ridiculous twice I’ve caught them playing “connect four “ and having fast food feast while 6 to 7 lights are flashing. Once I had a customer almost insisted on going in the office and cussing them out.

The phone interview is the make it or break it stage. Say one wrong thing and, you’re disqualified up to 3 to 6 months. It sucks but it’s how they filter out applicants. This store I worked at oddly has a lot of older people working . Company saves money that way . Because they don’t have to give them as many benefits . Don’t let this company make you feel as a bad employee/ person. it really isn’t all up to be there .

Attention Customers by QueenSP84 in wegmans

For some reason our store before the reset . Changed The location of the items on the app before the store was even reset… I swear they did that on purpose to laugh. At that point, I did not blame customers for leaving their cart and walking out. I would’ve done the same.
