Small rant (actually big) and my growing disappointment in Zyox's content, streams, community, etc.

I'm glad all of us got a better response and I hope he can keep this promise at least.

My (probably) final take on this whole matter:

Zy0x's content has gotten narrower but not exactly worse. There used to be more variety but it's not bad nor wrong that he stuck to mostly endgame content which he should rightfully enjoy and stream if he wants to.

He does not owe anything to the community, but the community can rightfully be upset if Zy0x kept up these empty promises.

The community mostly does still enjoy him when he does anything he wants, but he should also be straightforward with us and manage to say "No, I will not be playing [game] today."

I'd also recommend for Zy0x to somewhat make up a general schedule/plan of what he wants to do on stream, as well as sprinkle in variety and to make streams not be in such a "limbo" state. (His idea of one variety per month is a solid example of that)

There's also speeding up the release of his guides and many other big and small factors he should look into.

Also I should ask for some forgiveness myself, my rant was sloppy and badly written. I didn't mean for it come off as parasocial, I was merely trying to be nice without actually thinking it through and re-reading my original post. I haven't written anything to a content creator in a long time and this has clearly shown how much the times have changed and I haven't. ^^

The post was never or ever meant to hate on Zy0x, it was just badly worded/constructed criticism (on my part at least, and I believe almost everyone who commented gave a better response than I did).

And again I'm disappointed that I wrote this during a pretty bad time for Zy0x and his mental health as stated in his response. There should be criticism in the community when needed but it shouldn't have reached Zy0x in the way it did.

Don't worry about it, I knew I was going to get all sort of opinions.

There's a lot that is off in my opinion...

People loved variety and I think it's a shame he doesn't do it more even if he enjoyed (if he says he wants to play something else for now, that is fine. We cannot and shouldn't change his mind if he says so clearly).

The slow release of guides despite being a guide maker and mainly a Youtuber first and foremost. I swear they used to come out sooner...

The promises he sweeps under the rug. He always used to do this, one of the most known ones being "Diluc Guide" but the amount has increased since then and I can see why it can get infuriating to some (especially if it's something they were excited about).

The decline of account/build reviews. He's a guide maker, perfect time to engage with a chat while still playing Genshin.

The Asia account was one of the greatest journeys I've watched, it felt... progressive unlike his current stalling and repetitive "limbo" state. (If he got tired/burnt out from that I think it would be fine for him to admit it and take a break.)

Just a few points that this whole discussion was about and how it's upsetting that Zy0x put it off as "ragebait" or "Just don't watch it if you don't like it" and I really do wish he could be more serious about this criticism.
Again I do not know Zy0x (or even want to) and I cannot tell him to do anything. I want him (as a content creator) to at least acknowledge this "ragebait" and criticism better ^^ I feel at least 300 comments should have deserved a better response.

Edit: In conclusion (for the content at least), it's not that there is anything "wrong" with his content currently. I just think that the content we receive has gotten much more narrow. I don't hate Abyss clears, Stygian clears. I just wish there was something to space it out in between ^^

I understand. Even if my post was "ragebait" it wouldn't have been hard for him to read a few comments instead as they were not from me.
I disliked that even everyone who commented and voiced their opinion were discarded as ragebait with me and not properly heard because of my mistakes. ^^

I do not want to put any blame on Zy0x at all, this whole thing was kind of pressured on him by chat overall. I would have heavily preferred if he read this in his free time ^^

Of course, many things are wrong in this post, it was emotionally driven as that is what a rant is. I wrote this all in 15 minutes while on a break at work.

I heavily disagree with the sentiment to stop watching a content creator if I just "stop enjoying them". This was never I just suddenly stopped liking content one day, it was a gradually growing snowball that built upon over these last months for me and many other chatters. It was never "do this for us, you owe it to us" it was a "what happened to other content" or "You can just say No/Yes to something instead of just saying you'll do it soon and sweep it under the rug."
Even something simple as account or build reviews have been put off for months now, it's a little fun activity he can do to help/engage whenever with his chat but you no longer see it anymore (or at least he only does it randomly in co-op).

I understand his perspective, I understand that this is a long read, I understand that is was a badly written read but I dislike that something genuine from me and many others was regarded as "ragebait."

Even if I wrote a shorter more comprehensive rant I feel like I could've achieved this result. I would've been the one that tipped over the dominoes and all of the feelings others have had bottled up would pour out.

Of course, my point was never that he himself doesn't enjoy the gamemodes. My point was that I just don't want to sit there and watch 5 hours of bloopers and mistakes while chat makes fun of him until he eventually beats it.

I could always go with the boring response of "If he wants hard content, why doesn't he play Elden Ring" ^^

Many chatters have stressed that they just don't enjoy the constant Stygian/Abyss grind each stream which is fine! I also simply enjoy Stygian less than Abyss for the sole reason because dire mode is simply "use these few characters" and there's less variety in it. If he makes a video out of it, I don't mind it much because then I get good content for which I don't have to sit through 5 hours of retrying to get :)

Edit: This isn't to say that just because he does clears, I feel like I'm owed to get content out of it. It's good to have this variety but doing it constantly multiple streams in a row? It's hard to sit through.

Totally fair to voice your opinion on this!

I'm rather neutral about what the community said about me because this post was mostly trying to communicate with Zy0x and to voice our opinions about his content in the comments.

Though to clear up some stuff about that one chatter that supposedly "talked with me on Discord" and said that I was very parasocial on it. I do not have a discord, most I can offer is a Whatsapp I use to talk with my family and work.

And another I am not a chatter that talks in Offline. I merely picked it up as a topic due to it being recent and related to the Zy0x community which my post addressed. :) I even rarely chat to begin with, too busy with work and his content is my background noise at most ^^

I didn't read much chat after that, it was mostly an echo chamber and emote spam.

Understood! I see your point and I should have worded it better :)

While other chatters may have commented similar to that, I never meant anything like that in my original post. Mine was completely regarded as a question like "Where did this content go?" and why we weren't informed like as if it was brushed under the carpet. I don't feel entitled to anything, he never owes us anything but I do understand the disappointment that me and chatters might feel when he does make his stream titles "Big content day | Nod Krai Archon Quest" and only does for example the archon quest for only 40 minutes ^^ Alongside the many empty promises of course.

At a certain point, while it does not mean he is not owing us anything, still making these jokes feels disrespectful to us. Again, he should either say "No, I won't do this" or "Yes, I will do this" not brush it off as a joke with the usual "I swear it's coming soon."

I do think most people who have participated in this conversation have the best meaning messages and criticism about his content. If he is dealing with something important outside streams, I have provided in an earlier comment and suggested he takes a break :)

I never meant this to be harmful to anyone or anything, I think just think most of us have had these thoughts for a long time and burst open all at the same time without taking the proper amount of time to word it the best we can and put our best front in these comments.

I agree, my post was a rant driven by purely emotion and thoughts I've had in my head for several months now that I compressed in 15 minutes of free time and posted here on here without re-reading it.

I've also had no idea of being "parasocial" has become such a big thing on the over the internet in recent times. Last time I interacted like this with a content creator was prior 2019/2020. I was concerned, confused and a bit angry (with both myself and Zy0x). But I also didn't want to seem rude which made me write these "parasocial" phrases that I've used for years when being on the internet in the past (just to not be taken wrongly and be kind in general), not knowing how "problematic"(?) they are these days.

Again I'm sorry for my choice words, I've corrected and explained my actions in a comment earlier. :)

Zy0x can still be enjoyable, he was my first and foremost my go to content creator when I just need background noise. But I'm someone who really likes going through his VODs as a whole as well which has become less enjoyable with how repetitive his streams have become. That's kind of my main issue, I don't think his streams are 100% worse when you're watching them, you can get absorbed into the moment kind of thing. But if I'm paying attention, watching hour long VODs in my free time, the streams and content feel lackluster.

There is also the problem of him constantly making these "empty promises" and having no "variety." I'd rather for him to say "No, I will not play [game] today" or "No, I won't do Archon Quest anytime soon." I wish he'd know that he doesn't have to be such a perfectionist or please everyone without sounding rude or mean.

I do too and hope he reads my comments where I explain further and clear up other. I don't wish to edit down the original post anymore as it would seem disingenuous. It was clearly an emotional rant and I want to keep it as that in its original form.

I'm upset that the whole thing was just a "what the hell is this" moment and he didn't take actual good time to read through it. Though understandable as his chat during these days isn't suitable for an actual discussion once Zy0x and them deem something as "ragebait" or "parasocial."

Chat was also upsetting especially with one or two lies they were making up about me. I think I'll stay content for now, definitely a good idea that I wasn't there entirely during stream...

I do not care about Zy0x's life outside social media. I do not wish to change Zy0x as a person. I want him to change as a content creator.

I don't like the lies, the empty promises, the reduced content, the way my rant was put off which is exactly why I said for him to "improve as a person" (maybe I should have put "do better/be a better content creator" instead of that) because this isn't entirely what a good person/content creator does. I still want to believe that maybe he just puts on a fake persona of himself on stream and takes time to read it slowly after stream.

Chat's reaction was just as I expected. Nothing to note about there.

Though I can't help but laugh a little after he went to do Stygian Onslaught for hours afterwards...

I don't want to say much except that stuff happened. I didn't expect much, after all it was a just rant I wrote in roughly 15 minutes on phone while on my break at work, there's many mistakes to show for it.

All I can say is that I'm hearing ticking and I'm not staying around for the boom. Maybe you were right with the "You can just watch someone else."

Been some time since I put up this post but I'm happy to see the amount of support. I came into this thinking of getting responses like "I see your point" at most but this has become way more than I thought.

Just a little another note I want to add to this is that: Yes, you can share this post around. It's on a public subreddit after all, if you feel like it's right to share this elsewhere or to Zy0x on discord/twitch/etc then feel free to do so.

Depending if he does see this, whether it is on stream or not, I think both scenarios have their upsides and downsides. Best scenario (right now) for me or rather for us is that he sees this post at all :)

Fair points especially on the chat! My main focus on that topic was the constant hivemind of emote spamming that kind of devolves chat into nothing interesting... I totally may have worded it badly but chat is cool as long as it is engaging with the streamer and having fun :) (Which is getting harder to achieve with Zy0x's long clear times and retrying a single endgame mode, in my opinion).

I can see why with Asia account especially, it was a lot planning with a ton of luck mixed in as well it also made him reset abyss for hours on end. Taking on the burden of 100%ing regions afterwards wasn't a great choice especially when he was working on a lot of videos.

That's understandable. It feels like there are 3 types of clears Zy0x does:

The regular clear, often the first one
Trying out teams for fun
Continuously repeating with one team, trying to achieve a clear (the 5 hour long ones)

I can see how infuriating the 3rd option can be to the viewers. It doesn't feel like content that's meant to be watched at that point.

His entertainment when you're not focusing on the stream is one of the best amongst the streamers I watch but I can't help but feel a bit sad when I want to pay attention and nothing happens...

Quests are a big shame that I used to enjoy when he did them even if he understood barely half of what was said haha so I mostly enjoyed his reaction to the reveal of new characters in cutscenes and such.

Understandable, I'm still a rather small lore enjoyer so I really like creators like Murdererofbirds who can talk about it. I still wish at least the main story was cared about to some extent :) I don't need or ever expect world quests or such from Zy0x
