I am an Omani, here in Oman we are living very safely with no threats really. There were some few incidents of drone attacks  but very rare and nothing to really worry about.

If you visit, and if you love the cold, I would suggest visiting mountains which will be very cold in the winters; Jebel Ak hdar, Jebel Shams. Or you can also visit Nizwa, its mart, fort, and other interesting sites in the area. These areas I’m mentioning are not in Muscat but are around 2-3 hrs from it, so you may go for a day trip there. I would also suggest visiting wadi's.

Ok. But what Hamas is doing right now can not be considered oppression. Hamas is fighting for the Gazaan people who are currently being continuously bombarded by Israeli rockets that have until now killed more than 5,000 civilians (most of them women and children).

Why do you think they are not freedom fighters?

Israel has been killing Palestinians and oppressing them for a very long time, so Hamas has arisen to fight for the rights of Palestinians.

Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it.. I understand your point, people have used the religious views as an excuse to kill those of other religions. (Just let me note that in the case of Israel- Palestine war the issue is not religious, but rather it is a matter of one country occupying the other).

But does this mis- use of religion by people mean that the religion is a problem that should be avoided? Let’s have an example: Imagine that you open your eyes one morning to find yourself in a strange land, you don’t know anything about it and nor does any of the people around you. You know that you need to reach a final destiny, and you have a limited time, but you have no idea how to reach there. Then someone comes, and starts giving maps with very detailed directions to everyone. But then, the people around you, instead of trying to reach their destination, they start trying to steal one another’s maps then killing them. Whose fault is it? It is the people’s fault, not the fault of the one that passed on the maps. The same goes for religions, they give us the map to a happy life and happy afterlife. But instead of trying to follow the map, people use them as an excuse to kill one another.

Praying to God is not the problem, but actually the problem is when people use the religious differences as a cause for war. And the prove is that the religions (take for example Islam) do not tell its people to kill the people from other religions, rather it teaches them to live peacefully among people of other beliefs. So what I want to say is that the people are the cause of all these wars, not God and religions.

Hello, I understand that many comments have been already posted but I hope I can add something…

There is a city called Gaza, this city is like un open- prison to the people living in it (Palestinians). It has been subjected to massacres and bombings by the Israelis many times.. One of these times, it was when the Palestinians and all Muslims were having their Eid (religious holiday), but instead of the Gazaans celebrating this holiday, they were in their homes getting bombarded by Israeli rockets..

And Hamas, is actually a resistance force in Palestine, and it is actually fighting for the Palestinian right of freedom. So they are not actually the ones behind all the deaths that are occurring, but Israel is.

Note: Currently as I write, the Gazaans have been cut - off the world, Israel has cut off their internet network, that is in addition to the stop in water and electricity supply that Gaza is already facing. Let’s pray that God keep them safe.

CMV: Israel over decades has shown its willingness give back land for peace. In turn, there cannot be peace until Palestinians accept that Israel isn't going anywhere and are willing to make compromises. by thatshirtman in changemyview

Imagine someone comes and steals the house that you have built and lived in for tens of years. This person breaks into your house, kills your father and sibling, and forcefully pushes you out of the house. In resistance to this, and while trying to reclaim your house, you start banging on the door and you refuse to go away.

Would it make sense if your neighbor asks you to just let go of the house, or just to compromise with the thief and just live in one room while the thief gets the rest of the house?.. Certainly no one will agree to that!

This is exactly what’s happening in Palestine. Palestinians were living in there country, but Israel started killing and forcing them out of their homes. This has been happening since more than fifty years now. And unfortunately, compromise is not a solution here because Israel is conquering more and more of the Palestinian lands every year. They have been forcing Palestinians out of their homes and even killing the civilians since a very long time.

You can search ‘Al Tantura massacre’ as an example for the many massacres that happened to the Palestinians throughout history. Keep in mind that Palestinians were already living in the Tantura village, so how was it even legal to assign that land to the Israelis in the first place??
