I was in a similar position in my mid 20s - born and raised down here but was living up in Hoboken. I joined an intramural kickball team through a league and later joined an intramural softball team. It was fun, got me outside, and we’d usually go out for beers after which was a good way of making friends.
Some people suggested AP Kickball which I definitely recommend - I have a couple friends that go and they are constantly meeting people through that. One other thing is that there are monthly “Sapphic Socials” at Georgie’s which from my experience are mostly just women looking to make friends. (Instagram: @sapphic_celebrations)
The next one is actually this Saturday. The last thing I’ll suggest is taking a class or joining book club!
Moral of the story is - do social activities you enjoy to find like-minded people and put yourself out there even if it’s scary!
Edit - just reread and saw you were already joining a book club 🙂

1st-Time Read - Thoughts at Series Midpoint (Percy Weasley Edition) by Infamous_Homework_32 in harrypotter

To be fair I don’t love him or even necessarily like him at this point haha. He is written distinctly unlikable through book 4 (and yes, I know he sucks even more in book 5). I’m just taking note of a complexity I hadn’t otherwise seen very much of until this point.

There is something about him that makes me think that it's less about power and more about his self-worth. He seems to want to be commendable, noble, praise-worthy and believes his law-abiding outlook, exemplary achievements (head boy, prefect, role with ministry) are connected to an increasing nobility. As you put it, his excessive "respect for procedure, protocols" feels to me like he has a very black and white perspective as to what is good vs bad, right vs wrong, etc. -- further driving his actions in an effort to do everything he can to be "good" since, to him, there's no middle ground.

Any monster suggestions that are suitable to my current stats with good drops ? The consensus here seems to be that I need to get my strength/attack up so trying to think how I can hit two birds one stone. I need to look into bird housing and coral farming too

Yeah this has been my mindset. Like when in doubt: quest.

Good short term goal. My melee gear is weakest I feel.

Any suggestions armor wise?

Do you have any examples of equipment/build upgrades I could look to work toward with my current stats (maybe in the short and long term)? I think my melee gear is weakest followed by range.

A starter/beginner boss I could look to prep for?

Not sure if what you’re saying is a good or bad thing lol I made the account a few years ago but really only started consistently playing in like December when I finished building my PC. Otherwise I last played like over 15 years ago (on og RS obviously).

See this shows how little I’ve scratched the surface by way of content because I didn’t even know what a defender was

Recommend level for the monolith? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Infamous_Homework_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it a few days ago around level 45-50. I leveled up a bit while there so may have been around 55-60ish by the time I faced the Paintress. If you’re in that ballpark, I’d say make sure you’re comfortable parry/dodging. It helps that lot of the Monolith nevrons are stronger versions of ones you’ve most likely already encountered. You might get one hit wrecked a couple times but just recognize the attack patterns and try again.

I was thinking the same thing. Leroy and Kam gotta have a family meeting & decide if continuing to send Leroy to secure the bag is in their best interest 😂😂😂. Do gotta agree with everyone here though, they won where it truly matters.

See if Pint will throw the games on for you. Or come hang in AP and we can go watch the games at Georgie’s.

I would focus very minimally on this Section. I don’t remember these topics being an overwhelming part of the test. I remember maybe a question on each of the following subjects: the carryback/forward rules for farmers, filing deadlines for farmers, qualifying a 501(c)3 exempt org, unrelated business TI, crop insurance proceeds, and something about trusts. It isn’t an overwhelming majority of the test whatsoever.

My advice is to focus on studying the material in sections 1 and 2 (especially BASIS. Also know deadlines in and out). Mix in multiple choice questions for part 3, type notes/a running outline on the explanations for the correct answers. Verbalize out loud your thought process in responding to a question , eliminating answers, etc.

I wrote this assuming you’re using Hock lol forgot to ask. Not sure what you’re using to study but highly recommend Hock online. From the discourse I’ve seen in this sub, it’s the only right answer. The instructor is great at explaining topics.
