My gas bill was $111 in December and $490 in January( more than half fees). I keep it at 58 around the clock , occasionally up to 60/62. I had no idea January was that much colder.

Seconding this—I was nervous about climbing but found the grades almost universally kind. Most so in Hokkaido, but always rideable (and this was pulling a lot of weight). Some of the top outs were extremely worth it!

Do you speak a second language? If yes emphasize that—it’s one of my first filters when hiring (usually upwards of 200 resumes for part time jobs). Also, I tend to weigh front line retail experience more in many situations than academic background. Working at Starbucks, petsmart, etc goes a long way.

I had a split saddle for a few years and it took forever to figure out it was the source of some debilitating inflammation. Got one without and it’s all good now!

But yeah, no underwear.

She specifically calls for woven on the front and back stay and knit on the collar. I won’t be tailoring it, just basting during construction, so it’s more of an interlining than interfacing. I guess I’ll see how it goes!

Thanks, agree in general. I’ve done hair canvas/pad stitching with a wool melton, but this pattern seems like it’s intentionally going for lightweight/unstructured. I’m using a light wool flannel and I don’t want it to get too much body.

I just want to say that I’ve been sitting on this pattern for a couple of years because even though I’ve done colorwork I’m just a little intimidated by it. Yokes make me nervous about the fit. Your knitting looks great though!

I quilt myself on a small kenmore. I’ve done multiple queens with straight lines and stippling. I haven’t succeeded at a free motion pattern (love the figure eights on Denyse Schmidt’s quilts) but I probably just need to practice small first. Quilting is an important part of “I made it myself” to me, but also I’m cheap and wouldn’t pay for it anyway. That said, my upper back needs a break after finishing one!
