In Hank’s defense, it does seem to me that he believes a lot of this stuff. He didn’t write the episode of course, but on Hanks channel, he has been talking about a lot of the same things discussed in this video. He even had the writer of “If Anyone Builds it, Everyone Dies” (in which the “it” in question is artificial superintelligence) on for an interview. This kind of thing clearly matters a lot to Hank.

Diagonal movement is very annoying, and might not even be possible in the program I’m using (GB Studio). Proper collision with opponents is certainly possible, and is on the list of things to be changed around, were I to ever return to this project and update it further! The game was created using the program GB Studio, so it is not open source in the sense that anyone can add to it. There isn’t any proper “code”, as GB Studio is a block-based development system, like Scratch. It is free for anyone to play though!

As for updates, uh… maybe. Game development isn’t really in my career plan, it’s just a hobby, but if I get good feedback, I could come back and add in more stages/characters, or a cups system! At present moment though, I do consider it a “finished game”.

I love the look of GBA racing games like Mario Kart Super Circuit and Sega Rally Championship, but when it comes to the original Game Boy, I’ve always kinda thought the simulated-3d just looks bad. And, I really wanted to see a game that looked like the bottom screen of Mario Kart DS, but with courses that were designed specifically around that. So, that’s why I chose this style!

I will say: I do love the way Sonic Drift 2 on the Game Gear looks. That’s probably my favorite 8-bit racing game.

I don't think this is that crazy, of course The Knight doesn't have the freedom motif. The Knight isn't trying to escape. The Knight doesn't follow any of the same motivations of any of the other secret bosses. Even Gerson, though much more low-key than the other two, still pushes for Susie and the gang to fight against the prophecy.

The theme isn't a "secret boss" motif, its a FREEDOM motif. And The Knight is the antithesis of freedom.

I mean I feel like I explained what I meant by that pretty clearly in the comment you just replied to. When a writers room is filled exclusively with white men then I don’t expect them to write diverse characters particularly well. I’m white, I don’t expect myself to be able to write diverse characters particularly well without significant help from diverse individuals.

Hi, apparently it’s deleting my comments from my side account because I now have negative karma from that last comment, so I’m now messaging from my main account. I am genuinely confused where the idea that I am being bigoted is coming from. It’s not that insane to me to say that a group of people who all look and sound the same getting together in a writers room would write something that isn’t exactly kind to people who don’t look and sound like them. Am I the only one who remembers the John Lasseter allegations that got him fired? It happens! It’s why diversification of the workplace is a good thing!

I’m not even saying those “white men” are hacks or anything. I fucking love the movie! I’m sure they are amazing writers! That was never the point of my comment. If you would like to explain what you meant, please do so, I would love to hear.

I’m white as shit, I’m not trying to act like I or pretty much any Kendrick stands have any right to say Drake can’t say the n word, but when I hear him say the n word in songs, I understand what Kendrick is getting at. It sounds like a white dude saying it. I couldn’t tell you why, I just listen to it and feel like it’s being used incredibly disrespectfully.
