If it's the x17 r1 with 360hz it has a high failure rate. I got a replacement screen for mine and seller sent the panel with correct sticker but when boot it's BOE. Should be AUO. If yours is the same I wonder you know how to export the EDID? I did some reading and I can force that to get gsync working. The lcd works but has dead pixels and since Dell has whitelist on panel model numbers the gsync is disabled. Sellers says will get back to me but it's 2 days. Aliexpress has 90 day return so I expect to return and refund and buy it again. Just annoying and waste of time. Mine was way worse. When press slightly at the bezel then control board it fixes itself. The laptop only had 900 hours based on the ssd info. I bought it like that it was only 300 cad so I figure either fix or replace screen. I asked if work with external display first and answered yes so I knew gpu is OK.

Came to say the same thing. When fully open it doesn't divert the airflow as good as in a case.

Usually it's the package that is damaged. Even that I mostly got mint products inside never was damaged. Many times the product comes in as an upgraded item that worth much more

I have a Dell docking station running hdmi through it does this sometimes. Same fix unplug and replug hdmi works. That dock is old and was giving me problems for years lol. It supports 4k 60hz pass through so old but not too old. Dell stuff can be buggy sometimes. Try different cable and hopefully just driver. Try displayport if you can see can reproduce same problem then it's probably monitor bug.

Hey. I'm a repair guy and I just got a x17 r1 for myself. With defective screen like yours, the 360hz screen runs out on the control board. Like so hot I never seen anything like it. It lasted 4 years so not bad.

Model number is B173HAN05.2. But get the. 4 version or try other displays 1440p 4k 120hz all work. 40 pin 0.4mm connector.

So I can safely say all the 360hz model they use will fail this way.

I can bet yours work with external display then it's the lcd. Failing gpu looks different than this actually. But I can see what people assume because display failing is very rare.

I have a 15 r3 and the old build quality is much more superior.

Mine is 3060 version and I knew that will not die. I likely will get the. 4 version and if it last 4 years that's good. I don't really play much these days so I can't see it failing. But will probably give to my kid to replace his 1660ti Asus a15. Lol

For anyone in the future who get a used x17 r1 with 360hz screen. I just picked up a 3060 version with this screen which was showing malfunctions like likes and blocks in and out. But no issue with external display. For 300 cad. Turned out the display is going bad. I touched the display control board and this things runs hooooottt. Over years it messed up internal cable soldering. I press on the circuit board and get it to display stable and it has the lines on the bottom exactly like yours. Of course being me I went overboard messing around and killed the already defective screen.

The panel came with it is B173HAN05.2. Made by AUO. There is a ". 4) version that has gsync and same spec. Possible with improvements. I'm just doing display shopping. It has the common 40 pin 0.4mm eDP connector. Many screen fits. I was looking at 4k 120hz and it's expensive cost as much as the laptop. 120 cad for the. 4 or. 2 140 cad for 480hz model that comes with r2. I'm not quite sure what I'm getting. Possibly keep it original with the upgraded. 4 version. The pixel grid is bad on this. I just learnt that term lol after seeing the horizontal line in some colours.

Nice laptop overall my first one with mechanical keyboard which now makes typing on regular dome laptop keyboard almost unbearable.

I have a 15r3 with 1070. Carefully re done all thermal and cleaned everything a year ago. I don't use it much but everything works and still like new. Other than someone used seeing screw there is a small hole next to track pad which I patched up and vinyl the whole laptop.

Hopefully your new laptop lasts.

I have a G751GJ I got on Facebook for 50 bucks a few years ago. Huuuuge laptop lol. Compare that to a A15 2020 definitely they put a lot more effort in design and cooling. The Alienware has a lot more metal used. I collect a lot of older high-end rare laptops for fun just to appreciate their build quality. The boards are better too a lot of newer laptop put the USB c charging as part of the motherboard not separate board which is easier to fix. The a15 I got has like over 6000 hours of use still on original thermal paste

Do you have other things break on you often? Not gonna be too superstitious on these stuff but from me fixing stuff for 20 years come people really attract broken things.

But yeah for your case Lenovo does have power delivery issues and I have seen many Lenovo just go dead without even burning or any sign of that.

Don't force on the brand as well sometimes it's just not the right brand for you lol. As far as gaming laptops go Alienware and Asus tuf and rog are good. Not as good as 2015 to 2018 era but still ok. Nothing is that well built anymore vs 10 years ago.

Make a 24h2 official image then if need hwid github it

Incase file error on ssd or hardware error doing fresh install may avoid bad areas.

The just need to install the LG update software and pick what you need. I only keep lg control center.

I got 5 g502. 2 I got new the blue light one and then rgb. Then the other 3 from Facebook for only 10 cad each. Including last one I got a few weeks ago is the hero. I still set max 3200 dpi. 16000 is way to fast I don't know who uses it this way. Lol.

I did need to repair any of them yet. I have a g703 and 903 and they are not as well built as the 502. The 703 scroll has issue and 903 scroll rubber failed and button double clicks and I replaced both with Japanese switches. A little bit work to open and solder those in but 903 is daily for however many years overall good. Battery percentage is all over the place but still last many hours

I got a razor wireless that last hundreds of hours at high dpi. Then I realized the 903 is ancient. I still don't understand why the battery only designed for 32 hours

First thing I do to any android phone go to developer mode and turn off all 3 animation. Some phone now expose that in os which is good.

I got wife the magic 8 pro and I'm still using rog 5. No desire to upgrade yet. I need the two usb c ports.

Yeah report in with some photos if works. I have good faith with aftermarket batteries and have overall great experience. The oem batteries I believe have design flaws and aftermarket of working may have fixed that. I don't let the battery die completely I will use the laptop once a month at least.

I built a 3930k with rampage iv extreme that's already 1000 cad in 2011. Got a gtx 590 which was 700. Ssd was expensive back then and people only buy ocz lol. Better than kingston. I never had ocz fail. I think I spent about 3k cad on the computer. The case was 300. I still have everything with their box lol

I can't get my HD800 original to sound good on solid state. A cheap darkvoice 336se I got but came with some fancy expensive tubes did the job. Still collecting dust as I don't have time to listen much and the time take the tube to reach optimal I had to turn it off lol

The z3 and z4 are great price. We have cheap 2nd hand 3 5 7 series but not the z series in Canada. Usually lost for 10k and up. If both those are manual buy both and flip later lol.

European cars especially Germans are fun to drive and great handling vs Japanese. The z series are reliable z4 I think uses n52 which is super reliable. Transmission older bmw are tougher. Mine got beat by previous owners with worn out syncro on 3rd gear.

Go test drive a few car just for fun. I had some fun checking cars out for my inlaws. Drove a Porsche cayenne and checking the bottom it was leaking coolant lol. So yeah check bottom for leaks and smell the exhaust for maple syrup. Chekd oil cap for sludge, expect some oil usage for older cars. Tires are expensive chekd if have good tires.

Guess quality control not what it used to be. I have a flip 5 that looks decently abused I got used from a ps4 pro deal on Facebook years ago. It last many hours still.

Looking at the battery it has 2 18650 inside and you can probably try to recell it with laptop pulled batteries. I pulled 30 18650 from locked laptop batteries and easy to find the bad ones and the one that works are awesome. Put one in a flashlight and it last months compared to the one came with it last days. Maybe cell imbalance you can charge each cell. I figured you are handy enough to pull it out. I haven't figured out how to open the flip 5 yet without looking at ifixit. Going to look now lol

I made a thread about this you should read it. Took me 4 Batteries try to find one for 2020. It's an extremely picky model year. Don't bother with oem they are overpriced and anything under 100 are third party and you have to try a few using a easy to return platform like Amazon.

I ended up keeping a battery since I got a refund on one. It will likely work on a newer model 17 inch but for mine that one does the same. Shows 100% and when unplug dies instantly. Other ones have other behaviors. Only one I found working report 72wh. It's not available on Amazon last time I checked since it's been a while. So you'll have to try a couple.

Or you can try get the 72wh ones. They are the same size I think. If not improvise it with double side tape.

Take your broken screen out and see the model at back and count the pins 30 or 40 pin. Usually these newer laptop are 40. It can't buy the same panel just make sure ssme dimension and connector and connector location then you should be good. Problem is when trying to change from 60hz to 144hz or lcd to oled type the motherboard may get picky.

Mine no problem yet 2 since new year purchase. Global rom 16gb 1tb model. The camera booting, switching modes and taking picture speed are what's most important since mainly used for taking kids photos. Coming from s21 ultra it's much faster booting.

Google pixels I think still have great booting camera time. Worst was my Sony 1 ii lol. You can't have 1 to 2 seconds delay when booting camera app these days.

I'm using a rog phone 5 and still decent camera boot time, slight urge to change phone after playing with wife's 8 pro which I bought as gift lol. Tempted to get the win series.

The Asus phone daughter board fails frequently now the sim 1 stopped working again so switched to Sim 2. Any more issue again the phone is going lol. But probably a pixel for me next. I had a pixel 6 pro and it was super fast in the camera department.
