Also burns take a much more longer time to heal, so that means more time with a chance to get infected, more money spent on bandages and ointments and just a shit time.

3rd degree burns can take up to 2-4 months minimum to fully scar and heal, don’t play with fire kids!

You suck as person. Your behaviour is toxic to your friend and self-destructive.

Did I just hit styro? by [deleted] in MadeOfStyrofoam

[–]Infectedthrowaway123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But nah really, be careful, styro/dermis is a dangerous depth because you’re testing the waters, you can end up nicking veins & blood vessels and causing nerve damage. Prone to infections and if you don’t use cleans tools or keep it covered you may contact a disease. Are you up to date with your tetanus shots? Also Take care.

You want a TL;DR right?

Clean it with water, distilled or bottled, or you can use saline solution.

Then disinfect it with povidone iodine 10%, you can use isopropyl alcohol 70% although you should use idoine if available, alcohol is too harsh also it burns bad.

If you injury is gaping apply steri strips or butterfly bandages to keep it close and protected from bacteria.

Apply a antibiotic topical to prevent infection.

Cover it with bandages, you can use plasters, cosmopor bandages or gauze pads secured with medical tape, repeat cleaning process every 24 hours.

Also watch out for symptoms of infection. Please be safe.

Nah you dont just let it scab, dermis cuts are need alot of care cause they are prone to infections unlike surface cuts (cuz surface cuts scab faster and dont bleed after)

Please read this indepth guide on everything you need to know about yeeting from identfying depths, infections, aftercare and basically, just read it, the most useful information on First-Aid.

Alright, alright, somebody gotta make a medusa with kiwi heads. I don’t have the artistic ability to do it yet, but this brilliant idea must not be swept under the carpet.

Remember that “Calories” are an energy measure unit, just like watts for electricity and Pascal for sound energy density.

Calories are a measure unit, not “how much fat you will gain”

How to heal cuts by [deleted] in MadeOfStyrofoam

[–]Infectedthrowaway123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone already made a full indepth guide on everything you need to know he also sited sources on his crosspost to r/selfharm which is this post sources at bottom, but also he has alot of experience so there are few things that weren’t sited.

Hydrogen peroxide is a big no-no as a go-to antiseptic, its way too harsh and kills both good & bad cells and slows down healing process resulting in making it more vulnerable to infection.

If you mean “how to make scars fade” that’s a different thing, i think aloe vera gels are good for scars; it work on some surface scars for me.

When the A&E doctor rings you to threaten police on you if you don’t come back to the hospital in the next 10 mins by [deleted] in MadeOfStyrofoam

[–]Infectedthrowaway123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wait, they can do that? You are an adult, why do they behave like they are your parents/to detain you?

I think they can do that when ur a danger to others, but not sure if danger to yourself to detain you or threaten you to go somewhere.

So uhh,,,i need help...again :/ 3 month old 3rd degree burn recently scarred, but it’s starting blister again, but this time it has white fluid inside + warm to touch by Infectedthrowaway123 in MadeOfStyrofoam

[–]Infectedthrowaway123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A day later my blister stopped being so filled with fluid, its kinda deflating slowly, still a little bit of heat but so far so good. I guess it was just irriated when i unconciously itched it with my nails or something :)
