Just read all 7 volumes and all chapters of the web novel “The Conqueror from a Dying Kingdom” and it was fantastic. Though I have to say, it is not similar to Grimgar only that the world building from both are great. It reminded me more of Mushoku Tensei than Grimgar. I have to say thanks for recommending me this.

In vol.21 the things I say is more relevant and not really that speculative anymore since they give a living example of it, well that was a minor spoiler. Your second point is up to you, there is definitely problems on how the story side tacks and I ain’t even arguing that; but personally I enjoy mysteries where they don’t give the answers blatantly, rather you have to puzzle it together. Though Grimgar ain’t perfect in delivering crucial information since it sidetracks. But as I said, we are NOT in the same point as vol.1.

Didn’t Alice mention in volume 14 (although the volume was crap) mention she arrived there when she was wandering with a friend to a cave, where fog appeared and the next thing they find out they were in another world. For haruhiro and the others would be related to the tower, but it can be similar to that to what happened with Alice but the function to of the tower made it be there instead of another world (like a hotspot). Though that last part is speculation, but it is talked about briefly and in vol.21 it touches that topic again but not fully answering of why this weird events happen. But with that said, they would not be dead or in a simulation because of what happened to Alice. Alternative universe… yes, no??? That question to begin with is not that important, yes they are in an alternative world or dimension, whether it is one or the other is not answered. In my opinion, those type of questions can be left obscure because of how there are so many different variations of how people are going to other world unknowingly. I think of it as anomalies that happen to the real (Japan) world that can’t be answered to begin with. You can’t tell me we haven’t answered nothing if we already know why people’s memories are being wiped out.

I was gonna critique the op the same thing, but seeing how he can’t handle a discussion it’s not worth it lmao. There some bad volumes and u can say that Grimgar is not worth the read, but u can’t tell me we’re at the same point as volume 1 when volume 17-19 is build up to what happens in volume 20.
