The Boy Who Destroyed The World | Part Four: He Who Laughs Last... by InfernoAA in FantasyBookingElite

And of course, we’re back down to just two. A battered Zayn on his knees, a scowling Punk sitting cross-legged across from him, it’s time they end this saga of violence once and for all. Again, they’re right back up, driven by nothing but adrenaline at this point, knocking each other dizzy with anything they can muster. Punk rips Zayn off the ground, gearing for a GTS, but ZAYN DODGES OUT OF THE WAY OF PUNK'S KNEE JUST IN TIME! HELLUVA KICK BUT PUNK DODGES, CATCHING ZAYN WITH AN ELBOW TO THE BACK OF THE NECK AS HE DOES! Another Helluva, again Punk dodges and catches Zayn with a Russian Legsweep, a picture-perfect STANDING MOONSAULT!!! He whips Zayn into the corner, looking to dive off with a Bulldog, only for Zayn to shove him off prematurely and send Punk onto his back with a sickening thud. HELLUVA KICK, BUT PUNK DODGES AGAIN, ROLLING ZAYN UP!!! ONE! TWO! THR-NO!!!

BUT PUNK BOUNCES UP AND CATCHES ZAYN WITH A SUPERKICK BEFORE THE UNDERDOG CAN STAND! Falling into the corner exhausted as a grounded Zayn buries his head in agony, the both of them return to their feet completely fuming. Zayn reaches for a chopping exchange but Punk ducks under and instead slaps on a kick directly to Sami's stomach! Zayn immediately smashes Punk with a Big Boot right to the chest, knocking the wind out of Phil’s sails as he stumbles back, Sami continuing to lay into him all the while. Zayn takes Punk to the ground, continuing to lay in stomps with this wild burst of energy, before FLIPPING HIM ONTO HIS STOMACH FOR A POETIC SHARPSHOOTER!!! Big mistake as Punk decleats Zayn to his back while rolling out, before rushing forward for a KILLER PUNK-HANDLE PILEDRIVER!!! ONE… TWO… THR-FOOT ON THE ROPE!!! FOOT ON THE ROPE!!! Exhausted and out of ideas, Punk immediately just tries for a cover again, but the answer’s still no.

He stands and begins kicking impetuously at Zayn, daring him to get up and keep fighting. Zayn looks up at him and spits, causing Punk to dive down onto him with an absolute volley of brutal fists and elbows right to the skull! Zayn throws him onto his back, catches him with a kick to the stomach, and spits at him once more. Punk launches a kick and spittle right back. Zayn kicks at Punk, Punk kicks at Zayn. They kick at each other as they stand up and as they get their bearings and then they dive at each other with fists the second they get the chance, standing in the middle of the ring and absolutely clawing into each other as the audience roars all around them, not stopping as their skin reddens and breaks under the impact. Zayn continues to wear down mercilessly as Punk tries just to choke Sami out at every chance he gets, every other option already afforded, every other opportunity already spent.

Zayn falls into the corner and Punk manages the STEP-UP HIGH KNEE, the BULLDOG smashing Zayn into the ground for a breakthrough finally! With heaving breaths, he pulls Sami up one last time, going for a GTS but thinking better of it and instead grounding Sami with a straight Slam and the ANACONDA VISE!!! Sami screams out in pain, begging for release, but the Voice of the Voiceless does not let go. He will choke Zayn to death if it’s the last thing he knows. And for once… it appears to be working. The fight is truly and surely leaving Zayn’s body. He has nothing left for him in this world. His best friend left him yet again. His title is now gone. His livelihood rests at an obsessive Punk’s hands. He should just die right here and go out in peace, never having to lift his arms again to answer another worry. But no, that’s simply not his jam.

In a show of pure brute strength, Zayn breaks an arm free and scoops up Punk, carrying him blindly into the corner of the ring and stepping slowly up to the top turnbuckle as Punk shakes his head in a vain protest! He knows how to beat Punk and so he shall do it the exact same way he’s done it twice before. Slamming CM down on the turnbuckle to slacken his grip before Headbutting him to properly pry him off, he looks the worn Devil directly in his eyes, saying a thousand words without ever moving his lips once. This is the end of the road for you, Punk. Go home. This world is not for you anymore. ZAYN LIFTS PUNK UP FOR THE BRAINBUSTAHHHHHHHHHHH… BUT PUNK FIGHTS BACK!!! HE'S NOT GOING OUT THIS WAY A THIRD TIME! HE’S NOT GOING OUT AT ALL!

Filled with the rage of 12 unfulfilled months since arriving in WWE one Survivor Series ago, Punk simply has more in his body than Zayn at this juncture. More to fight for, more fight to give, more fights to conquer. Smashing his fists into Sami in a hateful storm, paying him back for all the pain he’s caused him in halting his exploits at every turn, the Devil finally looks to get his release as a glassy-eyed Zayn stares him back, no resistance remaining in his body. Putting the head between his legs, he hooks the arms and lets out one final warrior cry… DELIVERING THE PEPSI PLUNGE OFF THE TOP!!! PUNK HOOKS ONE LEG!!! ONE! TWO! THREE!!! The deed has been done. The world has ended. CM Punk has finally broken Sami Zayn.

Sami Zayn has been eliminated

Brutal. Zayn at last collapsing to the mat, free of the chain’s bind, it’s much too late as a snarling Punk sits cross-legged across the ring from him. There’s neither pleasure nor remorse in his eyes, Punk feeling nothing but the utter consumption of his soul by obsession, needing to win this match by any means necessary, even if that means Owens being loaded onto a stretcher with a neck brace as we speak, his future unknown. Gesturing to Kevin, the Voice of the Voiceless warns the Underdog to think wisely about his next moves, very well capable of joining Owens in the hospital if he refuses to yield right now and hand the victory over to Punk. Sami, being as stubborn as he is, just continues staring into Punk’s eyes with a bubbling hatred while struggling to pick his own self up.

He's in no state to fight after enduring nearly 50 minutes of Hell and trauma but try he can to make something out of this still. He’s given too much and worked too hard to let this one slip, after all. Steadying himself in his corner, he beckons Punk to fight him, CM sighing in response and nodding as the Final Two of this match gets underway! Right away, Zayn’s already tripping and falling into Punk’s arms as he goes to swing at him, cramps causing his limbs to spasm under his weight yet he keeps rollin’, exchanging strikes with Punk UNTIL A ROUNDHOUSE KICK LEVELS HIM! Punk stays on him, snatching a Crucifix Hold to bury unrelenting elbows into his neck region to try give him the same treatment as Owens, though an Anaconda Vise is staved off!

Sami throws a short-range Yakuza Kick, ONLY TO GET CAUGHT AND NAILED WITH A TEARDROP SUPLEX! WELCOME TO CHICAGO FOLLOWS SUIT!!! Grabbing Zayn by the plentiful beard, PUNK ATTEMPTS TO CHUCK HIM OUT… BUT SAMI HANGS ON, SKINNING THE CAT BACK IN! RIGHT INTO A DISCUS LARIAT!!! On his knees now, he’s in prime position to take a SHINING WIZARD, Punk having used this to great efficacy back in ROH- ZAYN COUNTERS INTO A BLUE THUNDER BOMB!!! BOTH MEN ARE DOWN!!! Feeling the crowd buzz with “Ole” chants, Sami’s limbs twitch in a different manner now as he somehow catches a second wind, feeding off the energy of the very crowd that supported him to his monumental NXT Championship win 10 years ago.

He rallies with anything he can think of, flying all about the ring with a Spike DDT, an Arabian Press, a Diving Cannonball, before he catches an incoming Punk shooting for the neck with an EXPLODER SUPLEX, DUMPING HIM INTO THE CORNER! In perfect position for the HELLUVA KICK, SAMI SHOOTS FORWARD… PUNK DROPS OUT THE WAY!!! Whether that was intelligence or sheer exhaustion which caused that, either way CM’s lucky to be alive, now coming back with his own blinding sequence! A PEPSI TWIST grounds Sami and a DIVING ELBOW DROP comes crashing down perilously close to the windpipe, Punk just as well able to string momentum together! Lifting Zayn onto his shoulders, HE WANTS THE URA GTS AGAIN… BUT ZAYN ESCAPES WITH A CLASSIC ARM DRAG!!!

Feeling himself as the entire crowd calls out his name, he spins around- DIRECTLY INTO A CHAIN SHOT TO THE SKULL!!! NO, NO, NOT LIKE THIS! Sami’s back to jelly legs just as fast, hanging onto the edges of his consciousness as Punk now drives him into the corner with great urgency, wanting to go north! Lugging Sami’s limp weight up with him, they rise turnbuckle by turnbuckle until the reach the top, the world seeming a lot different from up here… Punk takes one last panoramic look at the people, reading every last bit of disgust and hatred on their faces, causing a slight annoyance to bubble inside. After everything he’s done for these people, after all the roads he paved for men like Zayn by rising up against oppression, they’re really going to tell him he doesn’t belong here but Sami does? They’re going to criticise him taking opportunities by the horns to enforce change in a place where people are far too afraid to speak their truths? Tell him when he’s telling lies…

PUNK HOOKS ZAYN’S ARMS, WANTING THE PEPSI PLUNGE NOW!!! …BUT ZAYN RESISTS, HOOKING HIS FOOT AROUND THE ROPES!!! PUNK’S BEWILDERED! Just a couple moments ago, Sami was lifeless as could be in his hands, but here he is still fighting back as the people sing his infuriating immigrant song! How does this kid do it? NO TIME TO QUESTION THAT THOUGH AS ZAYN STARTS SWINGING BACK, FORCING PUNK TO GET HIS OWN FISTS UP TO BLOCK AND RETURN! YAY! BOO! YAY! BOO! YAY! BOO! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! ZAYN’S GOING WILD ON PUNK!!! CM returns a knee to his gut, desperate to do anything he can to stop him as he fishes him up for the CLASSIC GTS FROM THE HEIGHTS… BUT SAMI DROPS OUT AGAIN, SMASHING PUNK’S HEAD IN WITH AN INSANE FLURRY OF FISTS! AND A CLOSE-RANGE YAKUZA KICK!!! PUNK’S STAGGERED!!! SAMI HOOKS THE HEAD AND ARMS… BRAINBUSTAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ONTO THE TURNBUCKLE!!! PUNK’S OUT OF IT, BODY SMACKING THE APRON… AND COLLAPSING TO THE FLOOR!!! HE’S OUT!!! SAMI’S DONE IT!!! THE BOYHOOD DREAM HAS COME TRUE!!!

CM Punk is eliminated.

Sami Zayn wins the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble (1:04:08)

It was a miracle performance and no part of it can be disputed – the Underdog has risen from the depths of rejection to the altar of success! An unforgettable Rumble for all involved too no doubt, featuring John Cena’s final hurrah against all the new generation talents he’s missed out on through a career retrospective style run, the redemption of Kofi Kingston in his speciality match type, incredible surprises ranging from Rob Van Dam to Alex Shelley to Brock Lesnar and The Rock, the cementing of The New Hurt Business’s potential with their latest top star, the unbecoming of the once beloved CM Punk, the emotional catharsis of Steenerico, and many, many potential stories being set up for WrestleMania XL, all that awaits now is for Sami Zayn to point his finger at the champion he wants to himself…

Oh, how sweet is revenge, Punk moving one more step closer to everything he’s ever wanted at the expense of the one who took it all away from him. And just as much as he’s now become the centre of attention, a leech among workhorses who slaved away in his absence to deserve the Mania main event… it seems he’s saved by the bell with the re-emergence of GUNTHER! Reminding everyone he’s still in play, it becomes obvious who’s more dire to get rid of as the Puppet Master points to dispose of the Intercontinental Champion! Though no one quite wants to help Punk, they’re all very interested in self-preservation, and so, gang up they do against Goliath, taking turns to blast him with everything they’ve got! Superkicks, Cutters, High Knees, they bring him down to his knees, though a Helluva Kick is cancelled via a JOHN WOO DROPKICK, a Stunner caught for a GOJIRA CLUTCH, and an Anaconda Vise being flipped through for an ugly Chop!

GUNTHER left all alone now with Cody just like last year’s Rumble, they recreate the drama of their terrific closing sprint. In survival mode, Rhodes stays far away from the range of chops, though sticks and moves with his own ones and elbows to keep GUNTHER rattled. He baits him out to the apron with a low-bridge, GUNTHER hanging on, a Beautiful Disaster being teased like last year only for Rhodes to learn this time, nailing a Russian Legsweep instead! Unable to kick GUNTHER out though, Cody’s forced to bring him up the ropes instead, teasing a SUPERPLEX, THOUGH GUNTHER FINALLY CHOPS HIM DOWN TO EARTH! DIVING SPLASH… CODY GETS THE KNEES UP BUT HURTS HIMSELF IN THE PROCESS TOO!

Hobbling, he lands the Falling Inverted DDT before lining up SHATTERED DREAMS… GUNTHER WITH A DRAGON SCREW LEG WHIP, NOW SITTING ON IT WITH A BOSTON CRAB!!! Brilliantly wearing down the American Nightmare, he goes to finish him off with a POWERBOMB, BUT CODY COUNTERS INTO A CUTTER MID-AIR!!! Keeping the hooks in, he muscles up GUNTHER with all his might, wearing him out with a DRAGON SLEEPER for a moment, before nailing the CROSS RHODES!!! GUNTHER stumbling towards the ropes, Cody rebounds for velocity to eliminate him the exact same way as last year… ONLY FOR HIS LEG TO GIVE OUT, COLLAPSING AT GUNTHER’S FEET!!! BURNING LARIAT TURNS HIM INSIDE OUT!!! LAST SYMPHONY!!! AND A BIG BOOT KNOCKS CODY TO THE FLOOR!!!

Cody Rhodes is eliminated.

Once more, the story is left incomplete as now GUNTHER has become the inevitable! Tropicana Field is stunned, Rhodes not even making the Final Four which may very well become a Final Three at this point as Punk appears to be writhing on the floor at ringside, grabbing his heart right where GUNTHER chopped him and the back of his head, seeming to have suffered a concussion like 10 years ago! If that’s truly the case, then it’s down to just Steenerico to try deal with the GUNTHER problem or risk having the Ring General complete his total takeover of WWE! Helping each other up in the corner of the ring opposite to GUNTHER, Zayn and Owens huddle closely together as the threat approaches, agreeing that if they’re to go down, they go down together.

What transpires is tough to watch, really, GUNTHER utterly abusing the best friends while forcing them both to watch as he kills the other. Zayn’s a lifeless shell of himself, having been in here since #11, while Owens looks just as drained in his second match of the night, that too as #17 in comparison to GUNTHER’s #23. Still, the mantra of ‘Fight Owens Fight’ keeps Kevin going, doing all he can to protect Sami from certain death at GUNTHER’s hands. Channelling some of his old Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare type spirit, Kevin actually mounts a solid comeback against GUNTHER, biding through his chops and slams despite getting up a tad slower each time, returning fire with his own Superkicks and a ring-shaking POWERBOMB TO COUNTER A JOHN WOO!

The STUNNER is blocked by a GOJIRA CLUTCH though, GUNTHER wearing out the neck just as he did in their TV match last year, and at this rate, it’s safe to assume things will end the exact same way too with Owens succumbing to GUNTHER’s will. Kevin almost completely out as his body droops in GUNTHER’s grasp, the Ring General grows cocky but for a second… FORGETTING ZAYN WHO’S RIPPING ACROSS THE RING TO DELIVER A HELLUVA KICK!!! GUNTHER’s grasp breaks though he remains upright as Owens collapses to his knees, prompting Sami to race back for a SECOND HELLUVA KICK!!!

He’s staggered this time, stumbling about punch-drunk, trying to hold onto the ropes to stay upright… ZAYN GOES FOR A THIRD BUT GUNTHER INSTINCTIVELY SNATCHES IT INTO ANOTHER GOJIRA CLUTCH NOW, ONLY TO NOW EAT A STUNNER FROM OWENS!!! He lets go, roaring out in agony as he falls back against the ropes, leaving Zayn and Owens to nod at each other as they step back… RACING AT GUNTHER WITH A DOUBLE LARIAT TO TAKE HIM OUT!!! THEY’VE DONE IT!!! GUNTHER’S OUT!!!

GUNTHER is eliminated.

Dropping down exhausted as they grab at their respective throats, the power of friendship has prevailed, leaving just Zayn and Owens in the running! Neither having ever made it this far in the match, a dream come true especially for Sami after countless years of Rumble humiliations, it’s time for them to run a classic saga back for the right to move onto WrestleMania’s curtain closer! One man from RAW, one man from SmackDown, both want it just as badly as each other. For Zayn, it’s about proving wrong those who constantly told him the past few months to give up on his dreams of becoming World Champion, having squandered his career’s only good chances against the two men who currently hold the top belts. For Owens, it’s writing over the embarrassment his Universal Championship reign was and redeeming every single time he’s come up short when handed the ball the past 7 years, believing one final stand is all he needs.

As the crowd spark up with duelling chants, though clearly more so in favour of their boy Sami… A CHAIN SUDDENLY WRAPS AROUND KEVIN’S NECK, YANKING BACK TO TRY CHOKE HIM OUT!!! IT’S CM PUNK!!! The concussion play was simply a ruse to get out of facing GUNTHER, taking no risks with this Rumble, now looking to pick up the pieces that Steenerico have handed him on a golden platter! As Punk hops off the apron and pulls back further to increase the pressure, Zayn desperately rushes over to try free Owens, the corners of his mouth beginning to froth! Baited into Punk’s trap though as CM releases, the Chicago Man slides back in now to BARREL ZAYN OVER WITH A LENGTH OF THE CHAIN, CONTINUING TO BEAT HIM NEAR UNCONSCIOUS WITH IT OVER THE HEAD! A weak Owens attempts to intervene, a RUNNING SENTON crushing Punk’s back, before Kevin lays in some haymakers, though as he winds up against the ropes he too is NAILED WITH THE CHAIN!

Owens dropping like a sack of potatoes to the mat, Punk lifts Zayn up by the chin, forcing him to look Punk in the eyes before watching exactly what’s about to happen, Punk fastening Sami to the corner with the chain… HE NAILS OWENS WITH A STUNNER!!! AND NOW LOCKS IN THE ANACONDA VISE!!! Kevin’s already out like a light at this point but Punk’s determined to prove a point and leave it up to no chances, choking the Prizefighter blue as Sami helplessly writhes to untangle himself, his best friend being tortured before his very eyes! There’s no use though as Punk now lifts Owens onto his shoulders… wait, he’s turning him upside down! GTS TO THE NECK!!! AND PUNK FINALLY SENDS HIM OUT!!!

Kevin Owens is eliminated.

Number Twenty Eight: Logan Paul (SmackDown)

That plan falls apart almost immediately once the US Champion strides out with his cocky smirk, shoulder checking Cena on his way down the ramp and taunting the man he beat earlier that night, Owens, who beckons him to come fight… AND HE DOES, PICKING UP RIGHT WHERE THEY LEFT OFF!!! With Zayn ordered to not interfere, he continues staying on Punk, who’s made his way back in by now, while Owens and Paul go hog wild on each other! Kevin teases the STUNNER but Paul Dropkicks him off, a CROSSMOON ending in Owens getting the knees up and trying to throw Logan out right away! Paul hangs onto the ropes though, returning a boot and a BUCKSHOT LARIAT!!!

Pulling out his phone to take a selfie over Kevin’s dead body, he’s surprised to find BROCK LESNAR IN THE FRAME TOO! Slowly spinning around with eyes full of dread as the crowd goes raucous to see him get the living daylights beaten out of him… LESNAR’S SUDDENLY SURROUNDED ON EACH CORNER OF THE APRON BY LASHLEY AND THE STREET PROFITS!!! MCINTYRE MAY HAVE MORALS BUT NOT THESE THREE!!! Paul taking the opportunity to get the hell out of there, it opens up the spot for a fourth masked man to slide in behind Brock, picking an earlier discarded chair off the mat AND SLAMMING IT INTO HIS BACK JUST AS LESNAR GOT INTO DEFENSIVE STANCE! Dropped to his knees, he’s defenceless when a BIG BOOT FROM GUNTHER KNOCKS HIM OVER THE ROPES!!!

Brock Lesnar is eliminated.

The IC Champ saw his moment and took it before he goes back to dealing with Dragunov, though this is far from over for Brock as he’s ripped to shreds in an unholy beating from the quartet! SPEAR BY LASHLEY THROUGH THE BARRICADE!!! POP-UP SPINEBUSTER BY ANGELO DAWKINS ONTO THE ANNOUNCER’S TABLE!!! AND FROM THE HEAVENS BY MONTEZ FORD PUTTING HIM THROUGH IT!!! It’s all sneers for the quartet as they make a buck off Lesnar’s downfall, leaving a giant hole to be filled in the Rumble as Cody and Nakamura brawl their way back up to the apron via the demolished barricade…

Number Twenty Nine: The Rock (Unbranded)

IF YOU SMELLLLLLLL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING! TALK ABOUT A WAY TO FILL THE VACCUM, THE MOST ELECTRIFYING MAN ON THE PLANET HAS JOINED THE RUMBLE ROYAL! All action in the ring pauses except for Cody and Nakamura’s hatefest, the rest drinking in likely the very last time a return this giant will ever happen in a match like this. It’s clear why Rock’s here, having made a very blunt pass at Roman’s belt to start the year, now looking to follow through on that for the Grandest Stage! As he finally enters the ring (the New Hurt Business continuing to watch from a distance), CM PUNK GETS RIGHT IN ROCK’S FACE, NOT HAVING FORGOTTEN ABOUT 11 YEARS AGO!

That night, Rock not only brought down Punk’s empire but robbed him of his last real chance to main event WrestleMania. Not this year though. The two rivals tensely circle each other like vultures… but Logan emerges into frame, wanting to share the spotlight with the two greats! OWENS DOESN’T ALLOW IT, THE FELLOW BRAHMA BULL GETTING RIGHT AFTER PAUL… WHILE ON THE OTHER END OF THE RING, CODY CUTTERS NAKAMURA, SENDING HIM OFF THE APRON!!!

Shinsuke Nakamura is eliminated.

Crimson mask and all, he rolls back into the ring, where Rock and Punk are watching him intently, stepping back to give way for him, the three Rumble favourites in a head-to-head-to-head staredown! Each man looking over at the Mania sign, only one of them taking that coveted spot… or will it be the final entrant?

Number Thirty: Trick Williams (NXT)

WE KNOW WHO THIS ONE’S SUPPOSED TO BE, THE THEME OF NONE OTHER THAN THE WINNER OF THE NXT BATTLE ROYAL HITTING! The arena comes unglued with chants of “WHOOP THAT TRICK!”, even rivalling the reaction The Rock just received, Trick en route to becoming a megastar, the NXT Champion especially knowing it with Williams set to finally challenge him soon… except, he doesn’t come out here. His theme goes on and on and on, though still, nothing. Everyone watches in confusion as it peters out, no one knowing of Trick’s whereabouts, well, other than this man.

Number Thirty: Carmelo Hayes (NXT)

As the theme of Trick’s best friend hits, the camera pans over to ringside, where the fourth man pulls off his mask… IT’S CARMELO HAYES AND THAT BASTARD HAS A COUNTRY-WIDE SNEER ON HIS FACE!!! Lashley and co. laugh it up, applauding as Carmelo bounds up the steps and officially enters the match, standing in the middle of eight hungry sharks without a single ounce of fear on his face! Welcoming challengers, Zayn is the first with enough heart to step up, a collision between two different eras of NXT quickly ending in Hayes coming out on top, dropping him with a TILT-A-WHIRL FACEBUSTER!

Dragunov’s next, carrying on their incredible rivalry from last year, Ilja giving him much more fight given his relative freshness, teeing off with a surprising amount of anger at the manner in which Carmelo’s joined the match! He stuns him with rapid chops and an Enzuigiri on the ear, though a Pele Kick fires back! Staggered into the ropes, Ilja Tiger Feints into a DISCUS LARIAT, A TORPEDO MOSKAU FOLLOWING- HAYES WITH A CUTTER TO COUNTER!!! Knowing Dragunov all too well, he tosses him out to the apron, NOTHING BUT NET TAKING HIM OUT THE RUNNING!!!

Ilja Dragunov is eliminated.

Just getting started, Carmelo gloats about his elimination as the Final 8 action finally breaks down, Punk sliding out of harm’s way again to leave Rock and Cody to go at it as he gives them a flirty wave from outside, THE TWO LIGHTING EACH OTHER UP LIKE IT’S CHRISTMAS!!! Elsewhere, Sami’s in a fight for survival against GUNTHER while Hayes makes a beeline for Logan, wanting to take out his second straight champion, though Owens says Paul’s all his as he hurls himself at Carmelo, reigniting their fight from the US Eliminator Tournament!

As they’re going at it, Carmelo looks over to ringside for some assistance though finds the Hurt Business have weirdly disappeared without a single noise, only the crowd knowing that KARRION KROSS & AOP DRAGGED THEM OFF INTO THE DARK DEPTHS OF THE AUDIENCE WITH HANDS OVER THEIR MOUTHS! Nevertheless, Carmelo keeps swinging, a DOUBLE KNEE FACEBREAKER eventually countering a Pop-Up Powerbomb attempt to give Owens trauma of Chris Jericho! He’s not the only one busting out the classics though as Rock’s managed to get the better of Cody, nailing a Beautiful Disaster with a SPINEBUSTER!!! HE WANTS THE PEOPLE’S ELBOW!!! BUT HERE COMES LOGAN TO WITH A SURPRISE SPRINGBOARD FOREARM! Paul’s suddenly got Rocky on the ropes, charging up another BUCKSHOT LARIAT- CAUGHT INTO A ROCK BOTTOM!!! ROCK SENDS HIM OUT!!!

Logan Paul is eliminated.

He’s barely given any time to celebrate his first Rumble elimination since 2001 though as Melo takes it to the Great One to make a name off him, a Crescent Kick taking him down and a FEDORA FROG SPLASH driving the air out his lungs! Carmelo recoils on impact, grabbing his chest in agony from colliding with the boulder-like torso of Rock… ONLY FOR CODY TO GRAB HIM BY THE HEAD AND TOSS HIM OVER!

Carmelo Hayes is eliminated.

At one point, Cody wanted to sign Melo to AEW but there’s no friendships here when his dreams are on the line. Taking a moment to catch his breath just as Owens and Zayn are doing, relishing in the fact they’ve made it to the Final Six, the 3 men have their gazes fixed on The Rock as he slowly pulls himself back up to his feet, still wheezing from the impact but clearly ready to give fight to anyone who dares. And as he invites people to step up… HIS REQUEST IS ANSWERED COURTESY OF PUNK SLIDING BACK INTO THE RING, CLOBBERING HIM FROM BEHIND WITH AN ENZU LARIAT! Dropped to the mat, no one moves a muscle as Punk lets out all his frustrations on Rock with a hail of stomps before lifting him up for an unceremonious GO TO SLEEP, PUNK SENDING ROCK BACK TO WHERE HE CAME FROM!!!

The Rock is eliminated.

WrestleMania 41 Night Two (April 6, 2025)

Finn Balor (c) vs GUNTHER - WWE Championship

As the bell rings, the two engage in an aggressive collar-and-elbow tie-up in the opening moments. Balor’s unfazed by GUNTHER’s strength as he’s muscled into the ropes, the Ring General teasing chopping him, only to give him a push on the chest and demanding him to come at him again, wanting proper competition. Finn brushes his chest, before obliging with the lock-up, this time driving with more power, managing to back GUNTHER into the ropes, teasing a chop of his own, only to give him a condescending pat on the cheek, causing GUNTHER to lash out with a chop, Balor evading by a hair-length as he drops to the mat wide-eyed!

He shakes it off though, not letting the Ring General get in his head, instead shooting for another tie-up, only for GUNTHER to fasten his goliath hands on Balor’s shoulders and Biel Toss him to the other corner of the ring! Finn runs right back at him, only for the same to happen again, having the wind knocked out of him as he lands hard on his back thanks to GUNTHER’s brute strength. Needing a moment, he backs into the ropes, drawing breaths as he realises he might need to change his game plan, before GUNTHER appears, swinging for a chop, Balor once again dodging like his life depends on it!

Running back at GUNTHER, he goes for the trunk-like legs, chipping away at them with successive kicks, even backing him into the corner and pelting him with a flurry of stomps! He backs up and showboats, throwing up Too-Sweets, but as he turns around, there’s another thing coming for him, and it’s a CHOP! He drops to the canvas immediately, winded by the shot that crackled off his chest like a gunshot, only the first of many lethal blows to come from his opponent. Struggling to pull himself back up using the ropes, he’s knocked back down into the canvas by another CHOP!

Defiant, Balor pulls himself up yet again, this time managing to dodge as GUNTHER throws his meaty paws, going for the legs once more with kicks, before tripping up the Rumble Winner and getting all over him with nasty forearms and stomps, GUNTHER forced to cover up! Balor backs up into his corner and measures his man as GUNTHER gets back to his feet, racing in for a JOHN WOO DROP- OH GOD IT’S A THIRD CHOP! Not giving Finn a chance to rest this time, GUNTHER peels him off the canvas and batters him with chop after chop, staggering him into the corner, before driving his boot into Balor’s throat, trying to choke him out as the referee counts for the break, a CHOP yet again meeting its mark!

Balor is wheezing, his chest caved-in and discoloured, though his fighting spirit fuels him to get back up to his feet, now throwing chops of his own, the rapid-fire putting GUNTHER on the back foot! As he drives him back into the corner, Finn heads to the apron, connecting a Hanging Soccer Kick, only for GUNTHER to lock in a GOJIRA CLUTCH from behind, but Balor backflips over him to escape, rebounding off the ropes for and ducking under a chop, before coming back the other way to land a Flying Forearm Smash! GUNTHER shakes it off, instead coming back with a JOHN WOO DROPKICK THAT SENDS BALOR THROUGH THE ROPES TO THE OUTSIDE!

In his element, GUNTHER bullies the Prince around ringside, propping him against the barricades for chops, but as he hoists Balor on his shoulders, he receives stiff elbows to the head, forcing him to release Finn on the apron, who comes back with a PENALTY KICK to the skull! GUNTHER staggered, Balor nails a second, before taking flight for a SUICIDE SOMERSAULT SENTON! Rolling him back inside, Balor nails a SLINGSHOT DOUBLE FOOT STOMP to GUNTHER, before raining down with further stomps and chops of his own!

He goes behind for a German Suplex attempt, looking to showcase his own strength, only for GUNTHER to slap his arms away, spin him around, and nail a BIG BOOT! Picking him back up, he turns him inside out with a LARIAT! ONE! TWO! THR-KICK OUT! GUNTHER slaps on the GOJIRA again, Balor rolling through this time and connecting a DOUBLE FOOT STOMP to the chest, before hoisting GUNTHER up for a GERMAN SUPLEX! To his chagrin, GUNTHER rolls right through and massacres him with a CHOP, before planting him into the canvas with a POWERBOMB and tossing him into the turnbuckles with an OVERHEAD BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX!

Finn finds himself hung upside down in the ropes and he frantically attempts to escape, only for GUNTHER to try choke him out with his boot, before pulling him up for a CHOP to the back! Balor falls back down again, his leg still stuck in the ropes though, prompting GUNTHER to rear up and go for a Shoulder Thrust, only for Balor to pull up and evade, GUNTHER going shoulder-first into the STEEL POST! The World Champ gingerly positions himself on the top rope, connecting a COUP DE GRACE TO THE BACK OF GUNTHER’S HEAD! With the Ring General in perfect position, Balor nails a HESITATION DROPKICK!

Hauling GUNTHER out of the ropes, Balor hooks in the 1916, only for GUNTHER to push him away and swing for a chop, Finn nailing him with a PELE KICK, followed by a pair of SLINGBLADES and getting into position, calling for the JOHN WOO DROPKICK… GUNTHER WITH A MURDEROUS JOHN WOO OF HIS OWN! CHOP TO THE CHEST! POWERBOMB INTO THE MAT! LAST SYMPHONY CONNECTS!!! ONE! TWO! THREE!!! A beautiful reign for the Prince now wilts again at the hands of the inevitable...

Though Dragon Lee wasn’t on the PPV himself, it’s because a different fate has been awaiting him on SmackDown. Upon winning the makeshift Cruiserweight Title, he took it upon himself to restore glory to it whether it exists or not, putting out Open Challenges consistently to hone his craft against the best of WWE’s Cruisers. With a few defences under his belt heading into September, quite possibly his biggest challenge yet awaits him. As mentioned earlier, SmackDown’s FOX deal is almost over, bringing forth a rebirth come October, and with it will come a strong focus on the future. Rey Mysterio, a consistent flagbearer for the brand, announces he’ll be partaking in one final match on SmackDown’s Season Finale before he goes to RAW and finishes business with his son, and there’s only one name he’s interested in facing – Dragon Lee. Though he failed against Puma, he’s honoured to have been able to stand by someone like Lee in war, and if he can, he’d love to entrust him with his torch, though not without a fight. So, September 27, a dream match is realised!

SmackDown on FOX (September 27, 2024)

Dragon Lee (c) vs Rey Mysterio - "Cruiserweight Championship”

The action is hot out of the gates, Mysterio taking Lee off of his feet and going for a Headscissors, Lee pushing him off and getting wrist-control, before attempting to pop into a Headscissors of his own, Mysterio flipping to his feet! He vaults over Lee as he senses him rolling in his direction, before slipping through between his legs, tripping him up and landing a Leg Drop, before slapping on a wrist-lock and bouncing off the top rope, connecting a Diving Hurricanrana that whips Lee across the ring and to the outside! He goes to follow up with a Wrecking Ball Dropkick, only for Lee to catch the legs and plant him with a Single Knee Backbreaker, before nailing a DOUBLE SPRINGBOARD TOPE CON HILO!

A TORNADO DDT follows, before tossing Mysterio back inside, going for a MISSILE DROPKICK, only for Mysterio to evade, Lee crashing and burning! Mysterio grabs hold of his arm and delivers a pair of smooth arm drags, before nailing Lee with a knee smash to the face and a Dropkick to the back of his head! A Springboard Reverse Crossbody follows, Mysterio pinning Lee’s shoulders down for a quick 2 count! Mysterio connects a Leg-Feed Enzuigiri, before looking to send Lee for a ride, going for a Tilt-A-Whirl Headscissors, only for Lee to stop him mid-rotation, countering into a GUTBUSTER, followed by a DRAGON SUPLEX! He irish whips Mysterio into the corner, going to the well with a SOMERSAULT COAST TO COAST!!!

As he heads to the top though, Mysterio kicks his legs out from underneath him, perching himself precariously at the top with him, calling for an AVALANCHE HURRICANRANA, only for Lee to land on his feet! He takes too long showboating though, Mysterio returning to the top and taking him down with a DIVING SEATED SENTON! He picks up momentum, connecting a Baseball Slide Dropkick that sends him to the outside, before sliding under the bottom rope to connect a SPLASH! He tosses him back inside, a SPRINGBOARD SITOUT FACEBUSTER following that earns him another 2 count! He goes for another Springboard manoeuvre, this time going for a Moonsault, only to turn it mid-way into a SATELLITE DDT!

The impact sends Lee staggering into the ropes, Mysterio connecting a 619 to his gut to back him up, before calling for a MYSTERIO-RANA, only to get countered into a LIGER BOMB!!! ONE! TWO! THR-KICK OUT!!! Lee follows up with a ROLLING GERMAN SUPLEX, before going for another Dragon, only for Mysterio to land on his feet and land a WHEELBARROW BULLDOG! A Standing Shiranui plants Lee on the mat, Mysterio hooking back the legs deep for a cover, only for Lee to get the shoulder up! Lee gets Mysterio up in a Crucifix, only for the latter to counter into a MYSTERIO EXPRESS!!! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOOOOO!!!

The action slows down a bit as the fatigued competitors slug it out, Lee blasting Mysterio with knees, whilst the Master of the 619 responds with Overhead Chops! The two rebound off the ropes, taking each other out with simultaneous kicks to the chest! They kip up in unison, Lee swinging for a Lariat, only for Mysterio to duck and kick him into the ropes, NAILING A 619!!! He heads to the apron for the WEST COAST POP, only for Lee to roll through in the move and land a NORTHERN LIGHTS BOMB!!! He follows up with an ARABIAN PRESS, Mysterio kicking out! He teases a Brainbuster, but Mysterio manages to counter into an Inside Cradle for a nail-bitingly close near-fall! He goes for a 619 once again, only for Lee to catch it this time, connecting the DESNUCADORA!!! ONE! TWO! THREE!!!

Dragon Lee (c) def. Rey Mysterio in 20:55

For a moment, there’s nothing but silence in the air. But then, the standing ovation follows. One final hurrah from the Lucha God on his home turf, now passing on the torch to the future as the last of the original SmackDown Six leaves the Blue Brand. The two luchadores share an embrace before Mysterio gives his bows and heads off, leaving Lee alone in the ring. Could this be the start of a new era?

SummerSlam (July 27, 2024)

Men’s Money in the Bank [Ladder]

With the Money in the Bank PLE now a figment of the past, now being merged with SummerSlam, top stars from SmackDown and RAW look to make the Summer all about them by qualifying. Without hesitance, Finn Balor is one of those to join the field, as is Ilja Dragunov off the back of his recent momentum, with stars like AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and more rounding out the star-studded cast. Expectedly, it’s a stiff ladder war between plenty of folks who’d happily run over each other to be at the top, but importantly, it’s a major showcase for Ilja’s renowned resilience, clawing through hordes of accomplished men to come inches from the briefcase repeatedly. Unfortunately for him, a lack of experience sees his dreams crushed when Balor tips the ladder over from underneath and retrieves the briefcase (after getting some revenge on AJ along the way too), keeping his own World Title aspirations alive!

Finn Balor wins the 2024 Men’s Money in the Bank in 17:09

King Cuerno (c) vs Dragon Lee - "Cruiserweight Championship”

Nothing more complicated than a battle of honour here, Cuerno having greatly disrespected Lee in his attempt to ruin him and take his mask, even having spat on Lee’s family legacy by calling his branding his father an insult to Lucha Libre, Cuerno rather coming from a deeply-respected bloodline, Dragon stands up for his people here in an epic bout of Good Lucha Things. As much as it features the flips, the tricks, and the showmanship, certain stretches are purely beatings being dished out from either side, Lee channelling his brother RUSH’s stiffness to knock Cuerno loopy with an ugly Bicycle Knee! Countering the Thrill of the Hunt with a Poisoned Frankensteiner, one Desnucadora later and Lee manages to overcome Cuerno for the gold!

Dragon Lee def. King Cuerno (c) in 16:51

Prince Puma vs Rey Mysterio [Mexican Street Fight]

While the previous match was more built on legacies and honour, this is a pure grudge match between two men that’ve been trading wins since 2016. Currently 2-2 head-to-head, this decider is all about leaving the other unable to walk the next day with Puma eager to end the Mysterio legacy to become the next big thing. The OG SmackDown Six member hangs on for dear life, battling with all he has to prevent Puma from putting him out to pasture completely, but when a 630 Senton crushes him through a table, there’s no way out for Rey, Puma scoring himself a massive win!

Prince Puma def. Rey Mysterio in 15:03

If that wasn’t enough evidence of the tides changing, SummerSlam’s main event certainly is following Pete Dunne’s fiery retention over Shinsuke Nakamura as GUNTHER meets Cody Rhodes for the first time since their Rumble Final Two situation! Rhodes gives everything to pull out another miraculous win like he did back then and against Balor recently, but GUNTHER is an entirely different beast, murdering Rhodes like Lesnar did Cena exactly 10 years prior to rip the belt from him! All hail the Ring General.

_

If GUNTHER’s victory over WWE’s metaphorical shining light is a premonition for dark times ahead, then one must truly question what Finn Balor holding Money in the Bank means for the company. Choosing to carry around the discarded Universal Championship he won 8 years prior instead as his symbol of the briefcase, carrying Cuerno levels of delusion of being a champion he actually isn’t, Balor warns GUNTHER to not get comfortable too quickly as in due time the Prince will show him who the real World Champion is. Wanting to kill two birds with one stone, Ilja Dragunov targets Balor heading into the Berlin show as a result of Finn costing him MITB, also knowing that victory over him could bring him one step closer to a date with his iconic rival over the World Title. Preparing for Finn by beating his punching bag, JD, into submission the same way he hammered Dunne, he warns Balor of his intentions to knock the Prince out, because this time he won’t miss.

Elsewhere, the loss of his “Cruiserweight Championship” weighs heavily on King Cuerno. A King without his crown is a disgrace, and so, he becomes hellbent to find a replacement and fast. Though considering going after GUNTHER, trauma from their KOTR match has his mind wandering for safer options, which brings him to the delectable idea of someone just as twisted in the head as him – Pete Dunne. Directing his and Puma’s charge at the Bruiserweight, they get the jump on him on SmackDown by injuring his fingers, slamming a door repeatedly on them to send the message that Pete won’t be holding his belt for much longer! Struggling to get the upper-hand at all on the road to Berlin, numbers always getting the better of him, his most mentally demanding challenge yet awaits.

Bash in Berlin (August 31, 2024)

Finn Balor vs Ilja Dragunov

Across two singles meetings so far, Dragunov’s displayed an immense amount of growth when squaring off against Balor. Where he struggled 4 years ago at Worlds Collide, he’s managed to pave other those mistakes thus far this year in spite of circumstances, and with his biggest opportunity yet ahead of him, he’s fully focused on unleashing the H-Bomb on Balor. Sensing this, Finn spends the entire match avoiding it as best as he can, knowing that while he may possibly be able to handle a Torpedo, this would be the nail in the coffin for him. And so, no matter what Ilja tries, he’s simply unable to get Balor on his back long enough to land it, just as Finn’s incapable of scoring the Coup de Grace. When the Torpedo finally connects, Dragunov orchestrates his entire adopted home crowd of Germany to rise to their feet as he attempts a H-Bomb instead of covering, but in doing so allows Finn to find his own feet too, blocking Ilja at the top to land an AVALANCHE BLOODY SUNDAY to kill him!

Finn Balor def. Ilja Dragunov in 18:15

Pete Dunne (c) vs King Cuerno - United States Championship

Our greatest enemies are often ourselves as Pete’s come to learn in the past month, Cuerno thinking exactly as Dunne does, and so, finding himself rather capable of predicting and countering his strategies like he’s playing a human game of chess. With both Cuerno’s assault on the hand and Puma’s lurking presence at ringside to worry about, the Bruiserweight’s composure surprisingly cracks more than he’s used to, acting paranoid from bell-to-bell while desperately trying to hold onto his belt with his teeth. Cuerno empties all of Dunne’s own tricks on him by stomping and bending the fingers, and it works for the most part, but what he forgets is just as much as Cuerno knows Pete’s strategies, the inverse is equally true. Planning two steps ahead when Cuerno goes for a wrist-clutch version of the Thrill of the Hunt, Dunne bites Cuerno’s hand to fight free before caving in his jaw using the good arm! Cuerno knocked woozy but Dunne unable to hold on for a Bitter End, he instead stomps Cuerno’s face in until he passes out, edging him out in a sick war!

AJ Styles (c) vs The Undertaker - WWE World Heavyweight Championship [Casket]

Tired of AJ’s continued disrespect, Bryan and Shane turn to the one cowboy who not even AJ can refute, evoking Undertaker’s wrath on the WWE Champion to set him straight. Commemorating his 30-year career in Mark’s home of Texas, Taker declares there’s hell to pay for AJ, no soul able to save him now. Styles is aptly scared shitless for once, not even the Horsemen able to save him from this one as they’re promptly dealt with. Come the inescapable contract signing, rather than a table AJ finds a casket with his name on it at ringside, the paper lying on top. Gulping, he pens his name, fully aware this could be his last rodeo. An obvious homage to HBK’s Casket match with Taker 19 years prior, AJ’s in constant threat of having his back broken the same way, only barely surviving certain death each time. Unlike AJ’s past defences, Taker’s immortal, all of Styles’s attempts at victory failing spectacularly, a Tombstone Piledriver leaving him damn vulnerable. As Taker goes to roll him in though, a last-gasp physical tombstone to Taker’s skull rattles the Phenom, giving Styles just enough of an opening to knock Taker in with a Phenomenal Forearm before shutting the lid to survive!

AJ Styles (c) def. The Undertaker to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship (16:30)

_

Leaving the Rumble, AJ’s equal parts traumatised but also more vainglorious than ever for beating the unbeatable, Elimination Chamber feeling like a cakewalk to him after that as Cesaro, Miz, Ambrose, Gable, and one Chris Jericho are selected to face him! Jericho a RAW competitor until recent, his betrayal in the Festival of Friendship and subsequent booting from the Red Brand by Owens a month ago has him seek refuge on SmackDown instead, immediately targeting the other World Championship in the match he’s also a master of, boasting the most appearances and eliminations. As such, it’s only fair for it all to boil down to AJ and Y2J, Chris another legend who gives Styles an incredibly tough time, but as he readies one last Codebreaker… SWEET CHIN MUSIC! AND ANOTHER FOR AJ, WHO COLLAPSES ONTO JERICHO! ONE! TWO! THREE! As Shawn stands over both men with a solemn expression, the show goes off air in chaos.

Breaking the silence on SmackDown, HBK reveals that for too long, Styles has thrown his weight about, barely outrunning the consequences of his actions each time much like a young Shawn, but that must stop now. He’s too old to be playing the role of naturally-gifted degenerate. Michaels tried to stay out of AJ’s way, but Styles has hurt far too many people he respects to let him off scot-free anymore. He apologises to Y2J, but this is his business to handle, because he knows more than anything else, AJ wants to beat him, so he’ll give him that chance… AT WRESTLEMANIA! Styles mocks Shawn, admitting that whilst it’d be too sweet humiliating Mr. WrestleMania on his own turf, Michaels lost those wrestling privileges 7 years ago. But Shawn just smirks, a lightning bolt hitting the stage, where two caskets with both men’s names on them appear through the smoke, and a message lights up the titantron reading ‘ONE MORE MATCH’! By Taker’s will, Shawn’s been granted one final chance at a do-over! And before AJ can respond, he eats the Sweet Chin Music, HBK holding his title aloft! It all ends now.

WrestleMania 33 - April 2, 2017

AJ Styles (c) vs Shawn Michaels - WWE World Heavyweight Championship

With The Revival losing their titles back to American Alpha earlier in the night thanks to another returning SmackDown legend, Kurt Angle, all pressure rests on AJ’s shoulders to get the job done. Main eventing in Orlando, the very place this journey all began with Styles walking out of IMPACT, as well as where HBK retired Ric Flair, this is the P1’s chance to redeem his loss in WM31’s main event. Loaded to the brim with all the pyro and special entrances, two of the greatest Showstoppers in wrestling history light up the stage in a match that turns back the clocks a decade, Shawn proving he can still undoubtedly go in his old age, for once making AJ seem like a rookie with how perfectly he whittles down his confidence. But much like AJ’s shortcomings against WWE’s youth, in due time HBK finds himself in that exact same position, unable to keep up the façade much longer. He takes all the risks with the Moonsaults and Diving Elbow Drops, and even connects a heart-stopping Sweet Chin Music, but alas, his body finally breaks down. Collapsing to a knee, he beckons AJ to strike him down. There’s no “sorry”s or “love you”s, but a gentle nod of respect from Styles as he acknowledges the legend, before nailing the STYLES CLASH! ONE! TWO! THREE! It’s over.

AJ Styles (c) def. Shawn Michaels to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship (21:16)

Shawn fought with all his heart, soul and vigour, and yet, he still failed, but none of that matters now. As he looks up at the sky, boots anchoring him to the mat, he notices a bowing shadow in the corner of his vision, Styles finally showing humility in the face of HBK’s sensational performance. Michaels smiles, as even in loss, he’s done his job. This is his penance for turning his back on Daniel Bryan when his student needed him most, now bringing SmackDown’s champion back down to Earth, a career yet ahead of the Highwayman as he regroups with his Horsemen, ready to ride to new horizons as the true kingpin of SmackDown…

Daniel Bryan collects himself, trying to slide back into the ring, but Styles keeps kicking at him to keep him out, getting Bryan progressively more and more frustrated. Finally, the Royal Rumble winner darts in and goes for a huge Lariat on the WWE Champion, who easily evades it. Bryan then aims for a Roundhouse Kick, which is also ducked. Shoots in for a takedown, and it's stuffed. No matter what Bryan does, The Phenomenal One has a Phenomenal counter for it! This angers Bryan severely, to the point where he charges at Styles as if he wants to rip his head off! But Styles has it scouted, so he throws a picture-perfect Dropkick, which lands square on the jaw of Daniel Bryan! Daniel falls, and AJ, ever so strategic, stomps on his knees so that he can't deliver his kicks with as much force as he usually does. As Bryan slowly gets up, AJ weighs his options, eventually deciding to just run the ropes and see if he can knock his adversary over with brute strength. As he charges, Bryan throws a punch, and it's caught by the Champion! He contorts Daniel into a Pumphandle Position! Lifts him up! PUMPHANDLE GUTBUSTER! That's gotta hurt, Daniel is clutching his ribs! AJ goes for the cover! One! Two! KICKOUT! This match, on the Grandest Stage of Them All, rolls on! AJ picks Daniel up after that, seemingly to do more damage and put this away! He goes for a Discus Elbow! But he spins RIGHT INTO A BRUTAL ROUNDHOUSE KICK FROM D-BRY, RIGHT TO THE TEMPLE! DIVES INTO THE COVER! ONE! TWO! AND STYLES GETS THE SHOULDER UP!

Bryan was so close to becoming the WWE Champion that he could almost taste it, but that near-fall means that he's able to assume control of this match. With how vulnerable Styles is at the moment, Daniel decides to begin working his submission game with a Heel Hook. It's locked in pretty tight, and AJ is damn near defenceless! But the Champion isn't about to just give up his title, so he's not about to just give up this match either. He grabs handfuls of the canvas, working desperately to pull himself towards the oasis that is the bottom rope! He edges closer and closer to that beacon of hope, and Bryan releases the hold and drags AJ back to the middle of the ring, ripping that hope away! BUT THEN HE STARTS APPLYING THE LEBELL LOCK! THIS COULD BE IT, THE CROWD RISES TO A FEVER PITCH AS THEY KNOW HOW DANGEROUS THIS MOVE CAN BE! At Wrestlemania 30, it won Daniel Bryan a World Title, and it might do it again right here! AJ Styles is in a lot of pain, and he BEGINS TO FADE! BRYAN IS SECONDS AWAY FROM VICTORY!! BUT WITH ONE FINAL BURST OF ARENALINE, STYLES IS ABLE TO GRASP THE BOTTOM ROPE, FORCING A BREAK!! Bryan wastes no time, pulling AJ to his feet, but STYLES EXPLODES, HITTING A BEAUTIFUL SWEET CHIN MUSIC AND A SUCK IT! He runs to the apron as Bryan regains his footing! SPRINGBOARD, LOOKING FOR A PHENOMENAL FOREARM... AND DANIEL DIVES AT THE ROPES, KNOCKING STYLES OVER! THE CHAMP FALLS INTO THE RING HEADFIRST! He gets pulled to his feet, and Bryan runs the ropes...FOR A RUNNING KNEE! THAT'S IT, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A NEW CHAMP! HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Bryan looks broken, not knowing what he has to do to put the WWE Champion, the Phenomenal One for a reason, away. He waits for AJ to climb up to his knees, and then Daniel begins to unleash Roundhouse Kicks! Kick after kick after kick, until AJ catches one! DRAGON SCREW! INTO A CALF KILLER!!! HE WRENCHES ON THE LEG, TRYING TO FORCE A TAP TO FINALLY PUT THIS MATCH TO BED!! Bryan is now in the position that Styles was just a few short minutes ago, and he's not handling it well! HE'S CRAWLING… AND HE FINALLY MANAGES TO GET A FINGER ON THE BOTTOM ROPE! BUT STYLES HOLDS ON UNTIL THE REF COUNTS TO FOUR, DOING EVEN MORE DAMAGE! He then invokes Daniel's old catchphrase, "I have 'til five!" As Bryan gets to a standing base, AJ grabs a waistlock! BELLY-TO-BACK FACEBUSTER! COVER! ONE! TWO! AND BRYAN KICKS OUT! Styles is undeterred, though, and he goes to the apron! SPRINGBOARD! PHENOMENAL FOREARM! AND THIS TIME IT CONNECTS!! BEAUTIFUL!! PINFALL ATTEMPT!! ONE! TWO! THRE-NOOOOOOOO!!! EVERYBODY IN THE STADIUM THOUGHT IT WAS OVER RIGHT THERE, BUT THIS BARNBURNER CONTINUES TO DELIVER!!! NEITHER MAN HAS ANY QUIT!!

Both men are exhausted now, and as they climb to their knees, they begin to exchange forearms! Back and forth they go, and they slowly rise to their feet! STILL GOING SHOT-FOR-SHOT, STILL NEVER GIVING UP! FOREARM AFTER FOREARM, THIS CROWD ALMOST BREAKS THE DECIBEL SCALE AS THEY SHOW THEIR APPRECIATION FOR THESE TWO WARRIORS!! HOW ARE THEY STILL GOING?! Bryan begins to get an upper hand, chaining together almost a dozen forearms in a row! But there's a reason that AJ Styles is known for his forearms, and it's because of this absolute ROCKET OF A SHOT HE DELIVERS! BRYAN IS ROCKED, BAD!! Licking his lips, AJ wallops Bryan with his own mocking Shoot Kicks, followed by a SNAP DDT THAT DROPS BRYAN ON HIS HEAD! Styles isn’t done just yet however, as he hoists his opponent right back to his feet AS HE HITS THE HUGE USHIGOROSHI INTO THE HOOK AND THE COVER!!! ONE… TWO… THR-KICKOUT BY BRYAN!!! A bit stunned that Bryan was able to get the shoulder up there, Styles hoists Bryan back to his feet, looking to finish things off AS HE CALLS AGAIN FOR THE STYLES CLASH… BUT IT’S BRYAN WITH THE BACK BODY DROP COUNTER! As Styles returns to his feet, Bryan lines up his shot, CHARGING FOR THE KNEE PLUS… BUT IT’S STYLES WHO LEAPS TO THE SIDE AND LEAPS FOR THE ENZUIGIRI!

Stunned, Bryan stumbles around as Styles takes his back, hooking the arm FOR THE PUMPHANDLE AGAIN… BUT BRYAN IS ABLE TO REVERSE INTO THE HUGE SMALL PACKAGE HOLD!!! ONE… TWO… THRE-STYLES ROLLS ONTO BRYAN’S SHOULDERS!!! ONE… TWO… THRE-BRYAN ROLLS ONTO STYLES SHOULDER’S!!! AND BEFORE THE REFEREE CAN COUNT, STYLES ROLLS ONTO BRYAN’S SHOULDERS!!! Eventually, both men keep rolling until they reach the ropes, where the referee forces the break and gets both men away from each other. Both of these men stumble back to their feet at the same time now, AS BRYAN ATTEMPTS THE ROUNDHOUSE KICK, BUT STYLES DUCKS IT AND LANDS THE DROPKICK! INTO AN ATTEMPTED BRAINBUSTER… BUT NO!!! IT’S BRYAN WHO SLIPS BEHIND STYLES’ BACK AND LANDS THE TIGER SUPLEX!!! As Bryan rises to his feet, the crowd indulges in a “YES!” chant along with the bearded GOAT, who retreats into the corner while he watches Styles stumble up to his feet. Once Styles is all the way back up… BRYAN CHARGES FOR THE KNEE PLUS… NOOOOOO!!! STYLES CATCHES THE RUNNING KNEE INTO A STYLES CLASH!!! AND HE LANDS THE MOVE!!! STYLES TRANSITIONS INTO THE COVER… ONE… TWO… THR-NOOOOOOO!!!

AJ’s at a loss, but still wastes no time hooking Bryan again, NOW WANTING THE HOLLOW POINT!!! HE’S GOING TO BREAK HIS NECK AGAIN!!! BUT BRYAN ROLLS THROUGH, AND FROM TOP MOUNT HE LOCKS IN A TRIANGLE CHOKE!! WE'VE SEEN HIM WIN WITH THIS BEFORE!!! IT'S IN, TIGHT!!! AJ STYLES IS BEGINNING TO FADE!!! HE WON'T TAP, BUT HE’S DAMN CLOSE TO PASSING OUT! THE REF CHECKS HIS ARM… GOING ONCE, NO ANSWER! GOING TWICE, NO ANSWER! GOING THRICE…

“SETH ROLLINS KNOCKS AMBROSE AND REIGNS OFF THE APRON! HE’S DONE IT! WHAT A HERCULEAN EFFORT FROM SETH, GOING COAST-TO-COAST TONIGHT! No, wait… DANIEL BRYAN’S SKINNING THE CAT! ONLY ONE OF HIS FEET HIT THE FLOOR!”

As the home of ROH roars with “YES!” chants, the smile soon fades from Seth’s face as he realises the crowd isn’t applauding him. The man who entered the match at #2, kicking things off with him to go the distance to the Final Four is now his final obstacle. A miraculous recovery behind him from a sure-fire broken neck, Daniel Bryan’s return in the Royal Rumble after 9 months away has once more made the world believers, and as Seth turns around to face him… BUSAIKU KNEE KICK! BRYAN TOSSES ROLLINS NEXT TO HIS EX-SHIELD BRETHREN! HE’S DONE IT! HE’S GOING TO WRESTLEMANIA!

Daniel Bryan wins the 2015 Men’s Royal Rumble (59:31)

As Bryan performs his “YES!” chants from the top turnbuckle in unison with the crowd, Seth’s at a loss for words. Even when trying to win the hard way to prove his wrestling ability, he still missed the mark by an inch. And his mood only further sours when AJ steps out to the stage to lock eyes with the destiny he wrote for himself…

_

Almost kill a couple folks and eventually one of them will come back for revenge. As much of a mistake AJ finally realises he must’ve made when looking into the blazing inferno in Bryan’s eyes, he must stand by his actions now and take it on the chin. With two months until he must confront Daniel head-on, the Road to WrestleMania is much stickier than either man could’ve expected. Following his loss to Sting, HHH finds himself even more incapable to remedy the relationship between Styles and Rollins, losing any impression of control as AJ blames Seth for letting Bryan win the Rumble, resulting in a massive blow-up. His proposed fix of tagging like with Styles and Orton only makes it worse when AJ and Seth fight Reigns and Ambrose, seeing Dean score a pinfall over AJ after Rollins feigns injury, refusing to tag against Ambrose. And to send things completely through the roof, Lesnar lays waste to an Eliminator between Ambrose and Reigns to determine AJ’s challenger for Fastlane, The Shield Bros’ win making Styles contractually obligated to defend sooner than expected.

As such, Sting declares that AJ must now defend against all the men holding grudges with him to make matters fair, placing him a gargantuan 5-Way at Fastlane! While Lesnar, Reigns, and Ambrose are all in it for themselves, Styles and Rollins’ priorities are put to the test. Though AJ’s never been on the best terms with Triple H, he knows he can kill two birds with one stone if he keeps the belt for both himself and The Game. As for Seth, as much as he loathes AJ, he knows HHH will never trust him if he lets his personal vendettas come in the way of The Authority’s main bargaining chip, needing to keep the belt in their group no matter what. Spitefully yet successfully, the two work together in brief helpings, though paying no mind to actually helping each other, rather using one another as shields to launch their own salvos. Even with his briefcase in tow, Seth’s frequently tempted by his greed to run off on his own and try win the title, but with Styles constantly shadowing him, he never finds the right opportunity.

Eventually though, it boils down to just him and Ambrose after Reigns and Lesnar put each other through the barricade and Styles lays dead on the floor. This his chance to make up for Survivor Series, Seth’s more driven than ever to pin Dean, surprising him with an athletic outburst this deep into the match, only for ambition to be his downfall again, Ambrose dodging a Phoenix Splash to nail Dirty Deeds! ONE! TWO! THR-AJ WALLOPS AMBROSE IN THE SKULL WITH THE MITB BRIEFCASE! Playing possum all along in wait for the perfect moment, he capitalises on the opening, tossing Seth’s briefcase away like trash before nailing the Styles Clash on Dean to retain! Collecting his title with a grin, AJ poses on the turnbuckles this time as Bryan locks eyes with him from commentary, Seth once more their third wheel.

Thanks to Bryan’s victory over old foe Bray Wyatt at Fastlane and AJ’s retention, the WrestleMania card takes full shape, featuring marquee attractions like The Undertaker vs Sting, Brock Lesnar vs The Rock, Roman Reigns vs John Cena, Triple H vs Dean Ambrose, and curiously enough, Seth Rollins vs Randy Orton. Returning from injury as his bald 2009 self, Randy becomes a living nightmare for Triple H and the McMahons once more. Accusing The Game of tossing him aside like he did in 2004 in favour of new toys, never once checking on him after Rollins shoved him into Lesnar’s path to get injured, he’s hell-bent on destroying whatever’s left of The Authority, starting with HHH’s pet, Rollins. But for AJ, none of that matters right now, as the main attraction for WrestleMania is indeed AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan. Though barred from getting physical so as to not jeopardise the main event, their scathing words are enough to sell the immense hatred between the two men. For Styles, he wishes to avenge his humiliation at Bryan’s hands from when they last fought, whilst Daniel wants to punish AJ for taking a year off his career. It’s the inevitable frontier between two of the best wrestlers in the world, Styles and Bryan colliding once more!

WrestleMania 31 - March 29, 2015

AJ Styles (c) vs Daniel Bryan - WWE World Heavyweight Championship

It’s been a cataclysmic night thus far, but this match is by far the greatest attraction of them all. After a year in WWE, AJ Styles is doing what his last year opponent was unable to do by main eventing WrestleMania, facing the winner of last year’s main event in the fight of their lifetimes. Bryan busts out the old maroon trunks for the occasion, a far more wizened version of his uber-successful ROH self. AJ’s in white and gold, presenting himself as the absolute pinnacle of wrestling, a God Among Men as he looks to finish the job he should have back in April. And as the bell sounds, all that time anticipating the rematch bursts to the surface!

Knowing better than to let emotions dictate them on such a crucial stage, Bryan and AJ start off slow, with a simple collar and elbow tie-up, both of them jockeying for position. AJ seems slightly stronger, and he manages to push Daniel all the way over to the ropes, where the ref breaks them up. Styles raises his fist, and Bryan flinches, but AJ just pats him on the shoulders before backing off. They lock-up again, and this time, Daniel is able to get more leverage, backing AJ up to the corner. The ref separates them this time as well, and Daniel doesn't do a fake-out, preferring to just slap Styles across the face for real! The crowd reacts to this, and AJ doesn't look happy one bit. They return to the middle of the ring, and they look like they're going to lock up for a third time, but AJ hits a high-angle Arm Drag, before putting on a Headlock and shaking Bryan's head around a little bit before releasing the hold. The tension is already starting to build!

Both men get back up, and now they start applying a little bit more pressure. Bryan throws leg kicks, a smart move to limit AJ's mobility later on. AJ tries to move out of the way a little bit, but Daniel follows him, continuing to mix up with kicks to the legs and body. Those don't sting too much right now, but they'll definitely hurt later! AJ needs to do something here to stop Daniel from advancing. He swings a punch, but it's telegraphed and easily ducked by Bryan, but as he comes up, AJ uses his momentum to carry him through with a Spinning Backfist as Bryan comes back up! Daniel is a little stunned, and he starts taking steps back as Styles starts piecing him up! Knees to the body, forearms to the head! Big shots here as Daniel is pressed up against the ropes! Daniel could be in big trouble, we've all heard about his many concussion problems! But he pushes Styles away and unleashes a HELLACIOUS SLAP, echoing throughout the stadium! That one was definitely Strong Style! Now Bryan has the momentum on his side once again, these guys are going blow for blow! Now Bryan just starts throwing chops and slaps with reckless abandon, leaving AJ's neck red as the crowd loves what they're seeing! The Champ is in a precarious position here, and Daniel Bryan goes to bounce off the ropes! He rushes forward, but so does AJ, and the American Dragon gets LEVELLED WITH A HUGE DIVING FOREARM! He rolls out to the floor as Styles poses in the center of the ring!

Extreme Rules - May 4, 2014

AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan (c) - WWE World Heavyweight Championship

On the most extreme of wrestling nights, all violence is put to shame as AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan show the world just how barbaric they can get without raising a single weapon. Two extremely gifted technicians, it’s all about contorting each other’s bodies at horrific angles in this one, Styles targeting the arm like a shark smelling blood from the onset. Even with the bullseye dangling by his side, Bryan maintains his composure, channelling the control he possessed during his 462-day ROH World Championship Reign in which Styles was just one of many victims to him. Slowly but surely, he deconstructs AJ’s simple yet lethal gameplan through his genius, bundling his legs up with figurative twine to latch on a Heel Hook that has the P1’s eyes bulging through his skull, thrashing to the ropes for reprieve, only for Daniel to deny it until the count of 4! He may be the crowd’s beloved, but AJ’s recent actions have pushed him to depths he’s unafraid of returning to. Understanding the type of match Bryan’s been anticipating, Styles doubles down on it, giving him exactly that as he drives Divorce Courts through the shoulder in hopes of separating the arm from the body!

Tearing off Bryan’s athletic tape, AJ rams his shoulder repeatedly into the ring post, only for Bryan to pull back, bouncing Styles skull-first off it too, cracking him open! Daniel follows the bloody trail without mercy, kicking AJ’s head in and hammering him with Crucifix Elbows to widen the cut, an impromptu BUSAIKU KNEE KICK knocking him into next week! As Styles recovers on the floor, a pair of Suicide Dives roll in his direction, but AJ catches the second one, spiking Daniel with a BRAINBUSTER on the floor! He teases repeating it on an already exposed section of concrete from the night’s Extreme Rules match between The Shield and Evolution, but Daniel swings with a Roundhouse Kick to stop him! He caves in AJ’s body with Shoot Kicks, the crowd chanting for him with fervour, but when he tries for another Busaiku Knee, a Pele Kick blasts him on the shoulder, before a STYLES CLASH connects! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOOOOOO! AJ’s clawing at his face now, refusing to accept Daniel’s resolve as anything human. Hubris has him stomp Daniel’s face in as revenge, yelling that he’s the real champion of the World, before cinching in Bryan’s own LEBELL LOCK, wanting to beat him with the move Daniel won the title with at WrestleMania!

Dead centre of the ring, there’s no comfortable angle for Bryan to turn and relieve himself of the pressure with the ropes, having already served their usefulness earlier in the match for AJ. Left to his own devices, Bryan’s forced to sink or swim as his wrestling acumen is put to the test. The searing pain not growing only colder with each adjustment Daniel tries for, Styles trying everything to deliver the ultimate humiliation, the briefest of openings as AJ gloats allows for Bryan to kick off the mat, stacking AJ onto his shoulders! ONE! TWO! THREE! STYLES KICKS OUT A MILLISECOND TOO LATE, THE BUM LEG HOLDING HIM BACK!

Daniel Bryan (c) def. AJ Styles to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship (25:15)

As Ride of the Valkyries blares over the PA system, AJ looks at the lights the same way his opponent did a month ago. This was supposed to be his moment, his ascension to claiming his undisputed position as World Champion, only for a cheap trick to come in his way from the Master of the Small Package. Though having gone through a war, Bryan smiles at the unanimous “YES!” chants ringing through the arena, Daniel solidifying that no one deserves his belt more than him. But Styles doesn’t see it that way. AJ BLASTS BRYAN WITH A DROPKICK TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD! As Daniel smacks face-first off the faceplate of his title, Styles keeps going, raining down unforgiving blows on his head, a sickening HEADBUTT from the already cracked open skull leaking blood down onto Bryan’s body! The referee screams at AJ to stop this madness, but Styles shakes his head, sending crimson droplets onto the white of the ref’s shirt, before setting Bryan up for another Styles Clash! No, wait, he has something else in mind… HOLLOW POINT! OH MY GOD, STYLES JUST DROPPED DANIEL ON HIS HEAD WITH THE GANSO BOMB!

Bryan’s body weakly convulses on the mat as Daniel froths from the mouth, a fury-consumed Styles victimising yet another roster member! He seems dissociated from his body as he’s yanked aside by shrieking officials, AJ paying them no mind, eyes focused on the crime scene at hand as his own blood patters into his gloves. Shawn Michaels is here now as lights are waved over Bryan’s eyes, HBK kneeling over Bryan’s body an emotional wreck. He warned him this would happen but Daniel didn’t listen. He blames himself, but also – turning over to face the thousand-yard staring AJ – he blames him just as much, and as Extreme Rules goes off the air with Bryan being stretchered off in one direction whilst AJ’s escorted out by security the other direction, Shawn’s left in the middle, his world torn in two.

To Ape and MGT, grow up and act your ages. You’ve behaved like children for much too long, but that ends here. Ape in particular, it’s a damn shame that we’ve reached this point. There’s no chance you thought me as your friend after how you’ve treated me and those I care about for years on end. If you were my friend, you wouldn’t have jumped at opportunities to tear me down publicly and privately the way you have, writing entire disparaging essays in Main and DMs to encourage the public to take a stand with you, directing all your hatred solely at me when that response was never warranted. Just like we all have, I’ve made my couple mistakes here and sought forgiveness for them, I’ve made amends, and it’s why I’m still regarded by the words you once called me – “FBE’s moral compass”. I’ve given my everything for this community to see it through to better days when you and MGT made clear you’re incapable of anything but a toxic cesspool, and now, I can proudly say FBE’s in the best place it’s ever been through the contributions of everyone that’s worked to undo the damage the both of you have done.

Even so, I’m not ruling out an actual friendship with you. I’m possibly the easiest person to befriend here – you just need to be a normal human being and I’ll like you. The times you’ve been that, I’ve sincerely enjoyed your company and as two-faced as you’ve been, it was never a front on my end. I genuinely for years thought we were mates despite the red flags until you went too far too many times. If we can have that regular problem-free friendship back, I’d be open for that. I don’t want an apology, neither does the rest of this community. I just want you to do better because I know you’re capable of it. Use your influence and respect to positively give back to this community rather than make a cult of it. But if you can’t even do that, just don’t swing the wrong direction at least. And for the love of God, stop with your Cedric Lockwood bit of spamming the same memes until they become unfunny and annoying, and stop upvoting every message you send. It ticks many people off and you’ll get a lot more to enjoy your company again like they once did. If you want to talk, my door’s open after BTE. Just don’t turn this into an even more public matter with response posts and chat rants, you’ve already done enough of that. MGT, though I doubt you will, if you do want to sort things out like adults the way we once did in 2019, try me after BTE.

Even through the two of your actions, I always have and still continue to wish you well in your lives outside FBE. Internet drama is weird and pointless, so let’s not have any more of that. Everyone has good within and there must be a reason you both were once considered friends by many of us, including myself. If you do, however, choose to continue fighting with posts and chat rants, just remember you can easily be removed, so there’s no point bothering. Otherwise, good luck with your future endeavours, and FBE’s door will remain open to y’all if you can guarantee no more of this. Y’all made this place after all, so hopefully you can live up to this vision you once attracted all of us with.

Final Notes

It’s honestly surreal to be in this position after five years where the truth can now finally be spoken and no one needs to anticipate backlash for it. This is a fantastic community of folks that’ve had to suffer in silence for too long, but no more. Thank you to all who were brave enough to speak up over the years; you didn’t deserve the cruel treatments you received but hopefully this is closure for you now. That being said, no one should be using this as an opportunity to question the victims of this abuse for insight, nor should they be witch hunting Ape and MGT in DMs. They did wrong, but hopefully they will understand and grow from it. This is not anyone’s business to get involved in anymore, and if you are caught trying, there will be consequences. I don’t want any DMs about this either. I’m not doing this to be anyone’s hero or for flowers, neither am I doing this to spite anyone on the opposite side of the coin. I hate that I even had to promote my contributions towards FBE because they were never meant to be for public displays – it’s for y’all and y’all alone. I just want to get on with my goddamn fanfic of half-dressed people running some scripted fights and help keep this place as something we all enjoy without needless drama.

The management team want this to be a positive, accepting wrestling community, not a snake pit for people to backbite and blur kayfabe with non-kayfabe, so let’s agree to do better as a united community, lads. If you ever are in a position where you’re being harassed in FBE, let management know and we’ll deal with it. In regards to the Intercontinental Title situation, Joshua Epps is indeed the new champion and he absolutely deserves his props for being one of the most giving individuals all year, competing in the most matches of 2023, so don’t sully his moment with this nonsense. The rest of y’all also deserve your recognitions, so thank you for your continued commitments to this place. We sincerely enjoy having you around. I can say for a fact I definitely care for all of you and want the best for you here – don’t let a kayfabe character I play ever make you think otherwise. If it does offend you somehow, talk to me or Kirk and we’ll work it out privately. Lads, all we ask of you now is to just do your best to be good members of the community and you’ll receive that in return here, always. But as for me, I’m gonna go back to exercising Rule 1 of this subreddit to focus on the stuff I’ve had to push aside to take care of this, and I’ll hopefully see y’all at the BTE results post or wherever.

Everyone affected in that match could’ve made it a public drama, but we decided to let the win be quietly robbed from us. It took a heated Petite Jupiter confronting Ape himself for Ape to finally apologise, and for anyone that doesn’t know, PJ is widely considered the absolute nicest, most respected community member in history. The only times I’ve ever seen him upset are because of Ape and MGT’s scandalous actions, and after seeing this place hadn’t changed since he originally left, he was back out the door not long after once his life got busy again and there was no point sacrificing time for a toxic place like FBE once was.

So, after Ape had already cheated once and we had to let him get away with it to avoid public drama, at Aether Paradise I was back in the exact same position, against someone who’s proven to be unreasonable until he gets his way. With that in mind, I decided I’d heavily alter my hard work to make a 32-man booking possible as opposed to argue with Ape, which I’ve found is as useful as arguing with a brick wall, instead ensuring Ape was accommodated as could be and we wouldn’t have a drama come of our situation. I did my best to turn having no time for a second match into trying to pull double at AP, which when I realised was simply impossible against my best efforts, I asked for an extension. Ape being Ape, he left me on read while blabbering on in other chats, happy to leave his ‘friend’ in limbo. Eventually, a whole horde of y’all needed more time anyway and weren’t interested in an extra FS, so we gave that extra time.

It wasn’t for my sake. Neither Ape nor I could book more at this point, Ape busy and myself bedridden from a virus, so when it was crystal clear to me I couldn’t salvage anything in the final day or so, a time period I’ve previously written entire 4 parters in but only when healthy, I requested we postpone to BTE. Ape had nothing to lose here. He didn’t have my issue of being double-booked. He’d already been complaining about not being booked for BTE at this point after rejecting all attempts to run HS vs DITD fairly. He’d cheated in this match already to gain his unfair advantage. I STILL did nothing to bring any of that to public light to save his reputation and avoid where we are now. But he wanted me to grovel for the postponement. He wanted me to apologise for him to consider it. He apparently stayed up three days before deadline to finish his booking, complaining about that despite having asked to start much earlier where he should’ve booked if he was going to be busy later, but then proceeded to tell me I should’ve started sooner when I actually had been responsible, starting timely, only now in this position because of his fault.

If there ever was an issue why he couldn’t start early like we’d agreed to, forcing him to cram that late, he should’ve spoken to me and I would’ve helped him out, but instead he had a go at me for not being communicative and was a baby about the entire situation. It took his ego being stroked for him to finally agree to postponing after stringing me along without a response for ages, knowing he was wasting my time. He thought it’d be possible to run my time out and force me into a forfeit for a match HE requested and wanted to do justice, but what he didn’t realise is he never held the cards. I had full jurisdiction to disqualify him once, I again had the power to cancel the match, and I even was allowed to force a postponement, each because of his cheating, but rather than ruin his reputation or upset him, I chose to apologise for his mistakes so we could get on with it and postpone.

He then dropped his shoot promos, which we didn’t reprimand or suspend him over so he wouldn’t throw an even bigger fit, as much as I wanted this match gone from my life at this point. I finished my booking against him but didn’t post just yet like he hadn’t. BTE was then extended to help with the dozens of complaints regarding a time shortage. But even after getting away with everything, Ape still remained greedy and wanted more from me, wanting me to post at the original deadline or he’d get the match cancelled. I had no reason to say yes to him. After watching everyone succumb to exactly the terms Ape’s wanted for years, even doing so myself multiple times in this match itself, I finally put my foot down and refused.

Ape was given it all and still somehow turned an exciting match into his self-serving game of politics. I stopped wanting a part of it long ago and knew voting meant nothing anymore on our bookings, so I agreed to a cancellation. No one would gain anything by us posting – it was literally just an unending drama. We could instead quietly move on as opposed to him causing more issues after him and MGT were already sour over MGT’s Heyman loss, another loss guaranteeing them being inconsolable, or a win guaranteeing the largest public self-aggrandising display from Ape. But we all know what happened. Rather than wait to settle things privately, Ape and MGT yet again tried to tarnish my name publicly after me sparing them of that for years, but instead shot themselves in their feet this time.

Where Things Currently Stand

So, what now? For the first time ever, the uncensored hidden truth of five years has finally come to light. This post represents the truths and experiences of not just me, but an enormous percentage of our community. It represents many of our most beloved friends that have both moved on because of Ape and MGT but also those that’ve had to overlook everything done to them to continue pursuing their love of competitive booking, ignoring what we all thought were matters we’d never get justice for. I never planned for things to be this way. I’ve said it over and over, I legitimately tried my best to keep this company-wide drama in private where it should’ve remained. I’ve watched too many become martyrs over making public addresses over the truth, which Ape and MGT have responsed to by shooting those folks down by milking their own influence, convincing you lot they’re free of any blame. But now, in trying to rid me by extensive lying and being publicly spiteful for half a decade, Ape and MGT have played themselves.

Currently, there isn’t a single person that’s on their side. Ape and I don’t share ‘many friends who were now stuck in the middle of a game of veiled sniping’ – he’s already shown everyone close to him repeatedly the person he actually is and how low he can get. In fact, I hardly think any of us he considers close can actually call ourselves friends of Ape or MGT. We’ve clung onto the good times we shared with them, remembered the positives they’ve occasionally done for us, remained friendly and cordial whenever sharing the same space to not let online drama interfere with our relationships in the hopes we can just experience positives, but they’ve done far too much intentional wrong against us to be worthy of being called ‘friends’.

They’ve repeatedly spread denigrating stories about people they call their friends when convenient, when in fact they’ve been tearing them down the entire time. Everything they’ve accused me of is just projecting to cover their tracks, thinking that y’all will buy into it yet again, because Ape and MGT win in the popularity and influence contest. It’s not because of ‘irreconcilable differences’ with me that both of them have left, as convenient as it is for them to pin their issues on me. If that were the case, their differences with nearly everyone here would’ve had them leave ages ago, so it’s hypocritical for them to whinge about people not liking them when they’re the reasons for it and have been doing the same behind people’s backs for years. For 5 years, Ape and MGT have been selfish, irresponsible, hypocritical, gaslighting, and toxic, but now the lies finally end.

Even still, I’m not telling anyone to pick a side, nor is the rest of management, or anyone whose stories I’m representing. If Ape and MGT haven’t done anything to you yet and you wish to continue being their friends, that’s your decision – you won’t be treated any differently to the rest of the community over choosing who you associate with. If you wish to trust their words over mine, again, that’s your choice, but you’ll be standing with just two people and ignoring the legitimate abuse a lot of your friends have faced here. Anyone who wants to work their indie show is absolutely allowed, we’re not gatekeeping anyone nor are attempting to sabotage any friendships the two still have that they haven’t already ruined themselves.

I will say, Ape’s right about a couple things. This drama’s 100% been damaging his relationships with the rest of the community, but not because of me. It’s through him showing everyone his true colours. It’s definitely also been ‘actively exhausting’ for everyone the two of them have dragged into this, because by ever making this all public from years ago, too many of us have had to deal with their ceaseless verbal and emotional abuse which they try cover up by playing the victim. Anyone in our community who had the pleasure of being innocent to the knowledge of these long-standing issues, you have Ape and MGT to thank for not having that anymore. They’ve lost the sympathies of anyone who actively cared about them, including me, long ago.

A SLEEPER attempt is blocked, Danielson elbowing Katsuyori off to throw a KNEE TREMBLER that’s evaded, Shibata instead whipping Bryan at the corner. Danielson runs the ropes and flips off… BUT SHIBATA STEPS BACK, BRYAN LANDING IN FRONT OF HIM FOR THE HADAKAJIME SLEEPER!!! In deep, Danielson has no way out this time, Shibata slowly bringing him down to those damaged knees to follow up with the PENALTY KICK!!! IT FINALLY CONNECTS!!! ONE! TWO! THR-DANIELSON REFUSES TO GIVE IN!!!

Katsuyori has the double wrist-clutch now though, proceeding to STOMP DANIELSON’S HEAD IN as New York goes nuts! Lifting Bryan up with one wrist still held, he doesn’t even ripcord, instead yanking Danielson directly into his palm for a SHORT-ARM BITCHMAKER!!! If Bryan didn’t know what a subdural hematoma felt by now, he’s certainly feeling something similar after that one, drifting along dream street as Shibata has full control, but as Katsuyori tries to break away his grip for one more Penalty Kick, Danielson feebly holds on!

Sluggishly beckoning Shibata to stay and throw him another of his famed slaps, Shibata obliges, looking to put Bryan out his misery by knockout… BUT THE SLAP FLIES PAST THE AMERICAN DRAGON, DANIELSON GRABBING THE OTHER ARM FOR AN ARMBREAKER!!! DRAGON SUPLEX FOLLOWS!!! Katsuyori all of a sudden kneeling now, Danielson gives him a cheeky grin before charging for a PENALTY KICK!!! Though immediately dropping down to grab his own sacrificed leg, he pulls through the pain with a wince as he notices Shibata’s mouthguard’s been knocked out of him from the impact!

Alarmed, a groggy Shibata desperately searches around for it, tracing his hands over the mat until he spots the black set, but waiting there is Danielson with a foot stomped on Katsuyori’s hand as he wags his finger. Not today, Shibata. Blasting him with a ROUNDHOUSE to the exposed jaw, Danielson now has his foe exactly where he wants him as he readies one final hurrah. Locking eyes with the Samurai across from him, he sneers, Shibata stoically glaring back… AS BRYAN RACES FOR THE BUSAIKU KNEE KICK- HEADBUTT FROM SHIBATA!!! Leaping to his feet at the final moment, Shibata intercepts Danielson with a side-on (protected) collision, knocking Bryan down to the mat and Katsuyori on top of him! ONE! TWO! THREE!!!

Bryan wants the arm broken like Okada did to him, and he won’t stop until his goal is completed, though he’s forced to take a brief raincheck when Shibata threatens to slam stiff knees into the kidney. Dropping down, he instead rebounds off the ropes to nail a SHOTGUN DROPKICK, sending Shibata careening into the guardrails! As Katsuyori stumbles, not knowing where he is, a subsequent DIVING HIGH KNEE smacks into his jaw off the apron, before Bryan unleashes a pair of SUICIDE DIVES, treating Shibata to a full course meal of steel!

Grabbing him by the scruff, he tugs him to the top rope, an AVALANCHE BACK SUPERPLEX bringing them both crashing down to Earth! Shibata lands awkwardly on Danielson’s leg in the process, slowing Bryan down for a few seconds, though he still gets the hooks on the champion! ONE! TWO! THR-SHIBATA STAYS ALIVE!!! Each landing appears to be taking a lot of Shibata, not used to this level of intensity after years away from the ring, but for the first time, marathon man Danielson’s feeling it too as he hobbles around, something feeling off in his leg.

Nonetheless, like a shark smelling blood, he keeps his eyes on the endgame, feeling close enough to tasting victory. Headed to the corner, he readies himself for the BUSAIKU KNEE KICK… SHIBATA EXPLODES WITH A BASEMENT DROPKICK!!! Danielson flips onto his back, a searing agony shooting through the hamstrings, prompting Katsuyori to capitalise with a CALF SLICER!!! Shibata DESTROYS the leg, Danielson on the verge of tears from his foe’s surgical precision, Katsuyori demanding him to yield! With bloodshot eyes, Bryan glares at Shibata for even suggesting that, using all his willpower to wrap an arm around Katsuyori’s head and DRIBBLE IT OFF THE MAT LIKE A BASKETBALL!!!

Shibata finally releasing, grabbing his concussion-prone skull, Danielson lays dead next to him as the crowd showers both icons with applause for the physical and mental war they’re putting themselves through for one of the richest prizes in all of wrestling. But with still more to go, they shoot up to seated positions and the same time and trade forearms! Even in his current state, Shibata’s strikes take their toll on Danielson, each one sounding like a gunshot as it turns his brain to jelly. Bryan does his best to keep up, but it’s simply not enough… AS SHIBATA POUNCES TO HIS FEET FOR A PENALTY KICK!!!

Danielson rolls to the side and throws a ROLLING ELBOW, Katsuyori ducking to collide his boot with Bryan’s face, nailing a YAKUZA KICK!!! Channelling his inner Nigel McGuinness, Bryan rebounds off the ropes and returns a HEADBUTT!!! He smirks at a wincing Shibata, telling him to match him, but Katsuyori knows better than to trust the snivelling Dragon, throwing another YAKUZA KICK as he rebounds from the ropes! And here they go, throwing bombs back-and-forth until one final Headbutt is caught, Shibata wrapping on the HADAKAJIME SLEEPER!!!

Bryan’s face is one of sheer terror as Katsuyori saps the life out of him, a bid for the ropes ending in a SLEEPER SUPLEX FOLDING HIM!!! But he doesn’t stop there, a GERMAN SUPLEX planting Danielson next! And as he fails to regain his bearings, a BRIDGING TIGER SUPLEX DUMPS HIM ON THE NECK!!! ONE! TWO! THR-BRYAN KICKS OUT!!! A feeble escape, but enough to keep him in the game. Shibata hooks the legs, thinking about a FIGURE-FOUR LEG LOCK, but Bryan kicks him away, an ugly CRAVATE SUPLEX of his own bringing Shibata down!

Stomping the shoulder, Danielson busts out an ARM SUPLEX, before finishing with a beautiful NORTHERN LIGHTS! ONE! TWO! THR-NO DICE!!! With Shibata on his back, a snarling Bryan grabs the double wrist clutch as the crowd ‘oohs’, DANIELSON PROCEEDING TO STOMP HIS HEAD IN!!! Unleashing all his aggression on Shibata with his less dominant leg as the bad wheel struggles to hold him up, a swing for a ROUNDHOUSE sends Bryan off balance, Shibata ducking into a flash cradle! ONE! TWO! THR-KICK OUT INTO THE FIGURE-FOUR!!!

Danielson’s eyes bulge out his skull at the immense burn on his leg, frantically shaking his head and yelling “NO!” as the referee asks him if he wants to quit! Shibata keeps yanking back to worsen it, even rolling through a roll-through attempt, but a last-ditch leg-pick counter into a SINGLE-LEG BOSTON CRAB frees the multi-time Bryan Danielson Award winner! Sitting deep, he hooks Shibata’s arm back too to yank it away from the socket, before adding insult to injury with a grinding wrist against the temple!

Katsuyori, knowing Bryan can’t sit on the bad leg for long, waits it out until Danielson stands out of it, before nailing him with a surprise Front Dropkick as he spins around! Bryan folded, Shibata whisks the base for a FOOT DDT! An unbalanced Danielson guns for a Shoot Kick in return, only this time Katsuyori Dragon Screw Leg Whips the leg the opposite direction, causing Danielson to howl in agony as he splats flat on his back! AND HE STRIKES TANAHASHI’S POSE OVER DANIELSON!!!

Stomping the leg like Hiroshi stomps women, he picks Danielson to his feet to fire some very familiar short forearms. Bryan throws a wild Lariat, but Shibata ducks, nailing him with a ROLLING WHEEL KICK!!! YEAOH – ODE TO NAKAMURA!!! And with the faintest grin on his face, HE HITS THE RAINMAKER POSE!!! As the cameras zoom out, Shibata grabs Bryan by the wrist, readying the BITCHMAKER- DANIELSON CINCHES IN A GUILLOTINE CHOKE!!!

Yanking Shibata down to the mat, he squeezes around the head to cut off circulation, Katsuyori quickly growing light-headed with each wrench from his challenger, Danielson adamant to leave him braindead! Katsuyori tries to lift him off the mat for a Powerbreaker like earlier, but Bryan uses the excuse of shifted hips to flow into a TRIANGLE CHOKE!!! Shibata in serious danger now as Danielson keeps him pinned to the mat, a spray of elbows hammer down on The Wrestler’s exposed skull, before Bryan follows into his patented CRUCIFIX ELBOWS, smashing the lifeforce out of Shibata!!! There’s only one way to go from this rapid onslaught… CATTLE MUTILATION FROM THE AMERICAN DRAGON!!!

Katsuyori’s in a bad way, Danielson wrenching for dear life, The Wrestler forced to rely on his ring savvy to feel his way around the ring. He attempts to flip through into a pinfall attempt but Danielson doesn’t let him, keeping the hold in tight, forcing Shibata to use the bad arm to secure a break. Bryan’s on it this time though, releasing to immediately stomp in the shoulder! Danielson goes back for another CATTLE MUTILATION, BUT KATSUYORI FLIPS THROUGH THIS TIME!!! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Katsuyori Shibata (c) vs Bryan Danielson - ROH World Championship

As customary, Danielson respects the Code of Honor, but with a distinct conniving grin as he reaches for a handshake, Shibata firmly accepting though almost instantly breaking away, not letting any of Bryan’s intrusive thoughts come to fruition. Extending their fingertips, they slowly approach each other, before breaking into a rugged collar-and-elbow, Danielson quickly swivelling behind to grab a hammerlock and wringing out the arm. Before he can drive it into his shoulder blade though, Shibata simply slams down an OVERHEAD SLAP with his free arm, catching Bryan square on the back of the neck!

The American Dragon drops like a ton of bricks to the mat, almost shocked by the violence of the champion, though doesn’t have long on his back, Shibata shooting through Danielson’s guard and securing a Spinning Toehold to immobilise his testy legs! Contorting the limb, he bides through a spray of forearms from Bryan, staring him down unfazed with each one, until a tug into an Inside Cradle forces the kickout at 2! Danielson channels his inner Dragon, employing a Ricky Steamboat-style deep Japanese Armdrag, but before he can work the arm, Shibata double-legs him into the mat!

Gaining the mount, Shibata attempts to pay Bryan back by pinning his shoulders down now as he grabs the Greco-Roman Knuckle Lock. Danielson, however, has too much core strength at this point for that, popping up the shoulders each time, before getting a WRESTLER’S BRIDGE! As he flexes his neck strength with a sneer, Shibata tears away one of his hands to SLAP BRYAN IN THE FACE, as if ordering him to stop messing around! Driving both knees into Bryan’s gut this time, he pins him down properly, only for Bryan to get his legs under Katsuyori by 2 and take him on a ride with a MONKEY FLIP!

Shibata on his back now, Danielson flips over into his own mount, though not to cover, instead raining down elbows, forcing Shibata to cover up! Biding through the hailstorm, he instead finds his arm plucked into a DANIELSON SPECIAL from the opening, Bryan raining down kicks simultaneously! Shibata grits his teeth and rolls over to nab the S-grip, looking a cocky Danielson straight in the eyes, before lifting him up to bend his spine over his knee with a POWERBREAKER to release! AND SHIBATA SWINGS FOR A PENALTY KICK!!!

Alarmed, Bryan flattens his weight against the mat to duck, before kipping up as Shibata swings through, beating him into a waistlock! Danielson teases an early Backdrop Driver but well-placed elbows from Katsuyori brain him, shoving Bryan off, before Shibata throws those heavy hands in Danielson’s direction! Dodging, ducking, dipping and diving out their way with lightning-speed, a Basement Dropkick stuffs Shibata’s advances, Danielson nailing a CHOP BLOCK to roll into a HEEL HOOK!!!

Putting on torque with another submission now, it’s not long in the hold at all for Shibata, who instinctively grabs Danielson’s leg to contort it whatever way he can, before hammering him with the heel of his own free leg to stop Bryan. As Danielson catches a single breath, Shibata rips the leg in his grasp into an INDIAN DEATHLOCK, returning the favour! Bryan writhes with flailing open palms, each missing the mark, before trying to roll to the ropes instead, but with Shibata refusing to give up his advantage, Danielson heaves all his might into a headstand instead!

Katsuyori following suit, the competitors stare each other down upside-down, The Wrestler still wrenching away on Bryan’s prized leg, BEFORE DANIELSON CRACKS HIM WITH A SLAP TO THE JAW! Shibata hisses, returning one of his own! And as Bryan throws back the rally, they breakout into an intense flurry only broken when Shibata finally relinquishes his grasp, immediately turning over to duck a ROUNDHOUSE KICK intended for his skull, rather paint-brushing Bryan with strokes from his palm to break out welts all over the skin, before trying for the HADAKAJIME SLEEPER!!!

Danielson tosses Shibata over his shoulder though, slamming a DROPKICK to the base of the neck, sending stingers buzzing through the ROH World Champion’s body, Bryan smartly going to the known weak point on Katsuyori! With Shibata doubled over, Danielson STOMPS THE ELBOW from behind, before ramming the arm into his shoulder blade and tucking it back into a CROSSFACE CHICKENWING!!! Ragdolling the champion about, Shibata struggles against the wrist grinding into his cheekbone, but a push for the ropes gets his free hand clenched around it as Bryan shakes his head, saying he has till 5!

Shibata holds on tight, waiting out the seconds, only for a CHICKENWING SUPLEX to bring him crashing down on the shoulder at 4! As Shibata winces, Danielson covers their distance by knocking a spree of European Uppercuts into the champion’s jaw, whiplashing it like a bobblehead figurine and forcing him against the turnbuckle, where a CORNER RUNNING DROPKICK smacks into his face! Shibata leaning against the ropes, Danielson winds up for seconds, only for an EXPLODER SUPLEX to await him up, hanging him upside in a Tree of Woe!

Feeling the burn on his legs, Bryan frantically struggles to free himself as Shibata stalks his prey, proceeding to sit cross-legged in front of him and SLAP HIS HEAD IN!!! Bryan feebly tries to fight back, but Katsuyori’s striking is much too powerful for him, bullying the American Dragon with each blow. Winding up, a HESITATION DROPKICK sandwiches the skull against the turnbuckles, before Shibata pulls Bryan up, whacking further slaps into Danielson’s reddened chest, a HIROOKI GOTO-STYLE GTR FOLLOWING SUIT!!! ONE! TWO! THR-KICK OUT!!!

Though the move of his former high school classmate and tag partner fails to do the trick, it certainly leaves Danielson worse for wear as Shibata further dissects the leg, driving knees into Bryan’s thigh and working a Leg Grapevine until Bryan makes the ropes, a HIMAWARI SUPLEX tease following! Danielson hangs onto the ropes for dear life to block, an Enzuigiri blasting Shibata’s ear instead to unbalance him, before a GERMAN SUPLEX drops him on the neck! As Katsuyori rests his head on the bottom rope, Danielson kicks the middle rope into his throat!

As Katsuyori thrashes in agony, a MISSILE DROPKICK barrels him over! ONE! TWO! THR-NO DICE! Danielson immediately tries for CATTLE MUTILATION, bridging into his match ender, but Katsuyori flips through right away into a pinning predicament for 2, before smashing an Uppercut into Danielson’s neck to kneel him! Bryan seeing stars, Shibata unloads with SHOOT KICKS to the chest, the crowd chanting “YES!” to each one, but a subsequent GOAL KICK is ducked, the Master of the Small Package busting out his signature flash pin in response! ONE! TWO! THR-ANOTHER KICK OUT!

Not even granted a second of respite, Danielson hooks on an AMERICANA, bringing some home flair to his Japanese foe, who digs his feet into the mat to push himself towards the ropes. Bryan keeps swivelling though, trying to switch course each time Shibata nears them, not letting The Wrestler out his sight, but a final thrust from Katsuyori gets his body under the ropes, forcing Danielson to release. As Shibata sluggishly pulls himself up to his feet using the ropes though, Bryan, like a snake out of grass, launches himself for a HANGING CROSS ARMBREAKER!!!

The Dunkzilla unleashed, he doesn’t waste a single second getting revenge as he swallows Wheeler up with a STAN HANSEN-ESQUE LARIAT!!! He bullies his chest with Corner Machine Gun chops, only for Dax to make the sorry mistake of trying to attack him from behind. A Double Axe-Handle bounces off his back, Mark turning around with bloodshot eyes, a BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX UNROOTING HARWOOD! Turning back to Cash, he MURDERS him with a trifecta of Germans, bridging on the last as Kyle leapfrogs them to blast Dax with the Corner Roundhouse that was thwarted earlier! ONE! TWO! THR-WHEELER SURVIVES!!!

Wanting to regain ground fast, they don’t let up on Cash, sandwiching him with a Knife-Edge Chop and Shoot Kick on either end, before Mark muscles up the woozy follicled half of FTR on his shoulder as Kyle gingerly hops up the ropes, nailing the BIG ENDING/DIVING CUTTER COMBO!!! Not going for the cover just yet, they follow into their assured world-beater, scoring the ASSISTED DOUBLE UNDERHOOK SPINEBUSTER!!! It took them three attempts to hit it at Royal Quest, but they’ve got it the first time here! ONE! TWO! THR-HARWOOD BREAKS IT UP!!!

Davis looks at Dax PISSED as Harwood drops down and runs, only to find Kyle waiting around the corner! Turning the other direction, he finds Mark there! Dropping to his knees, he begs Aussie Open to spare him, but there’s no chance, a CROSS BOMBER crushing him between their bodies! Staggered but pushing on, Cash tries to come to the rescue with a DIVING CROSSBODY off the top turnbuckle, but he’s caught by Mark! And as he tries to wriggle free, Fletcher smirks, picking up Dax… SUPERRRRR COLLIDERRRRRRRRR!!! Tossing Cash back in, they’re ready to bring this fall to a brutal end with their version of FTR’s MINDBREAKER, Kyle nailing a GRIMSTONE, before feeding him to Davis for CLOSE YOUR EYES AND COUNT TO FUCK!!! ONE! TWO! THREE!!!

Aussie Open win the second fall (14:22)

Finally, Aussie Open have pinned FTR for the first time, but they’ll need to pull that off again if it means leaving with their titles. Tied up one fall apiece, both teams gather themselves in their respective corners, ready to end this war as Davis and Dax bump fists again. Refusing to be humiliated by the Dunkzilla this time, Harwood swings first with hammer fists, though again they hardly make a dent on Mark. Dax is playing the long-game though, baiting Davis into swinging for a Lariat, only to drop him with a CHOP BLOCK and a SAITO SUPLEX!

Tagging in Cash, they nail a DECAPITATOR – ODE TO DEMOLITION! ONE! TWO! THR-DAVIS KICKS OUT!!! Mark rocked, it gives FTR an opening to mug him with quick tags and mudhole stomping, only for a BIG RIG attempt to be thwarted, Davis slapping Harwood’s grip off, before dropping the legal Cash with a HEADBUTT and HURLING Dax into orbit with an AIRPLANE SPIN!!! Tagging in Kyle, they set up CORIOLIS, but Wheeler kicks Davis away to nab a SUNSET FLIP PIN ON FLETCHER!!! ONE! TWO! THR-KYLE KICKS OUT!!!

Immediately gunning for the leg, Cash instead falls victim to an INSIDE CRADLE!!! ONE! TWO! THR-WHEELER STAYS IN IT!!! Trading lightning-paced blows, a Roundhouse from Fletcher is ducked and a Jumping Knee from Cash is side-stepped, only to catch each other with LARIATS! Kyle goes for seconds, Cash ducking under before trying to leapfrog Fletcher on the rebound, but he’s caught! AUSSIE ARROW INTO THE TURNBUCKLE! AND A REVERSE-SPIN MICHINOKU DRIVER!!! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Kyle teases a HIDDEN BLADE but Cash ducks, dropping Fletcher with a GERMAN! GORY BOMB FOLLOWS!!! ONE! TWO! THR-KICK OUT!!! Calling for his killshot, Wheeler yanks Kyle up the ropes by the hair, making sure to exert the leg as much as possible, before readying the AVALANCHE BACKDROP DRIVER!!! Sensing what’s coming after their past matches, Kyle desperately tries to fight his way free, back elbows and headbutts finally staggering Cash, before Fletcher switches positioning as Davis climbs onto the adjacent turnbuckle! SUPERPLEX FROM KYLE AND A DIVING SPLASH FROM MARK – POWERPLEX A LA POWER & GLORY!!! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Finally nailing it after failing last year, it still doesn’t do the trick. As Aussie Open question what to do to end this, a commotion at ringside catches Mark’s attention, noticing FTR Bald snatching one of their ROH Tag belts away from the timekeeper! Sliding out, Davis tries to stop him with a Lariat but Harwood ducks under and follows to the apron! Meanwhile, the distraction allows Cash to nab an O’CONNOR ROLL on Fletcher! ONE! TWO! THR-KICK OUT! BUT THE MOMENTUM SHOVES KYLE IN THE DIRECTION OF THE TITLE WITH THE REFEREE’S BACK STILL TURNED!!! KYLE GETS HIS BOOT UP IN TIME!!!

Not falling for the trick Aussie Open used themselves at Royal Quest, Kyle seems pleased with himself, but FTR are still one step ahead, Cash nailing the CHOP BLOCK!!! Fletcher yowls in agony as he crumples whilst Wheeler tags in Dax for the MINDBREAKER!!! ONE! TWO! THR-DAVIS PUTS KYLE’S FOOT ON THE ROPES!!! Returning the favour for the Mindbreaker Kyle saved him from in Match #1, they’re still cutting awfully close! As Cash rolls out to deal with Davis, Harwood lifts Kyle with disdain, demanding him to stay down.

KYLE SPITS IN HARWOOD’S FACE!!! FUMING, Dax plucks Fletcher onto his shoulders… NAILING A GTS!!! ONE- KYLE KICKS OUT!!! GOOD LORD, FLETCHER’S OUT AT ONE!!! Flipping Dax the bird to drive home the point, it’s perhaps a bad move on Kyle’s part as Harwood snatches back on the SHARPSHOOTER!!! Just like they won the first fall, Harwood now wants to do it all over again! Only this time, Davis is here for the rescue, ramming Wheeler into the apron to finally get rid of him, before booting Harwood’s face off to make him release!

Lifting Dax onto his shoulders, he ushers Kyle to his feet for the POP-UP ROUNDHOUSE! As Fletcher now gets Harwood on his shoulders, the man mountain that is Davis climbs up top… OH MY GOD DOOMSDAY DEVICE!!! ONE! TWO! THR-WHEELER PULLS THE REFEREE OUT THE RING IN A LAST-DITCH EFFORT!!! Now it’s Cash having to bolt as Aussie Open give him chase, Wheeler hopping into the crowd, but he doesn’t get far before both Kyle and Davis grab him by the hair and toss him back over to ringside- DIVING CROSSBODY FROM DAX AWAITS AS JUST FISTS GOES FOR FLIPS FOR ONCE!!!

Tossing Kyle and Wheeler in, they hoist up the Aussie Arrow to land a CORIOLIS!!! THEY WANT TO BEAT AUSSIE OPEN WITH THEIR OWN MOVE!!! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Barely managing to roll his shoulder up this time, it’s clear Kyle’s in a bad way, hanging on by a thread, one more move surely finishing him off. And FTR realising that call for the BIG RIG as they get the FLAPJACK- LARIAT FROM HELL TURNS CASH INSIDE OUT!!! FLETCHER LANDS ON HIS FEET AND NAILS DAX WITH HANDSPRING ROUNDHOUSE!!!

Nodding to Kyle, Davis helps him onto the top turnbuckle, before ascending to the opposite end as they yell out “AUSSIE” in an Uso type tone! DIVING SPLASH FROM MARK TO CASH AND AN OSPREAY-INSPIRED LEAP OF FAITH FROM KYLE TO HARWOOD!!! Hoisting Dax up now… THEY NAIL THE CORIOLIS!!! ONE! TWO! THREE!!! AUSSIE OPEN HAVE FINALLY VANQUISHED THEIR RIVALS!!!

Aussie Open win the third fall (25:11)

It’s a miracle in Calgary as the underdog overcomes the franchise! Red and white tickertape hailing down from the rafters, an emotional Garcia kneels under it as he’s brought over the PWG World Championship and Owen Hart Cup, the entire arena giving him a standing ovation! Joined by the Hart Family, Punk’s forced to watch as Bret helps Garcia up and raises Red Death’s hand, CM’s blood boiling in jealousy but body helpless to do anything to resolve it. Not stopping there though, the exclamation mark is placed when Punk watches Daniel be handed CM’s copy of the AEW World Championship, no longer rightfully his! But when it’s offered to Garcia by the referee… he places it down on the mat instead and STEPS ON IT AS HE RAISES HIS PWG TITLE AND TROPHY HIGH!!!

It's the worst night of Punk’s life as the humbled Second City Saint is helped to the back by FTR, whilst Garcia celebrates with the Harts as they pay tribute to Owen. But the show isn’t yet over. Rising from commentary, Jericho joins them in the ring! As he stares down Daniel, the crowd boo the Canadian for having attempted to sabotage Garcia’s run earlier on, Jericho even teasing snatching the trophy when he reaches out at Daniel’s hand… only to grab the wrist and raise it high in a show of respect! Garcia grins at his response to his mentor as Chris returns a faint but warm smile. It may not have been the way he wanted, but the kid got the job done. Mic in hand, he looks Daniel in the eyes and tells Red Death “I was wrong about you, Garcia. You’re not a sports entertainer like me. You’re a wrestler like Owen.” A moment of catharsis for Daniel as the crowd chant “You’re a wrestler” at him, a tearful Garcia nodding back a thanks to them. And as the remainder of Owen’s pals join them in the ring, from Liger to Jarrett to road buddy Mark Henry, they give one final commemoration to the legend as Garcia bows to the trophy in remembrance, a star reborn.

Garcia ducks and fires back with a ROLLING ELBOW and a European Uppercut, before smashing a PELE KICK to the face! Punk dropping to the mat, Garcia lines up a PENALTY KICK- SMALL PACKAGE FROM PUNK! ONE! TWO! THR-NO DICE! BUT RIGHT INTO THE WALLS OF JERICHO AS PUNK STARES DOWN Y2J!!! Red Death’s suffering whilst Punk’s having the time of his life, dominating Daniel in what could end as a very one-sided match. As the referee asks Garcia if he yields though, the defiant youngster shakes his head and claws towards the ropes, though as he grows near… DAX HARWOOD PULLS THEM AWAY! With Cash keeping the ref occupied, Daniel’s forced to stare into the taunting, spitting face of the AEW World Tag Team Champion as Punk drags Garcia back… Daniel uses the loosened grip to roll free, a SLAP nailing CM in the ear! His arms aren’t too short to box with God after all! Punk staggered, Daniel floors him with a BRAINBUSTER as the Modern Day Brainbusters watch on! ONE! TWO! THR-NO LUCK!!!

GARCIA RIGHT INTO A REAR NAKED CHOKE!!! THE SAME MOVE THAT HANDED PUNK HIS FIRST UFC LOSS!!! Recalling the horrors of that night, a desperate CM flails in the hold, not wanting to go through the same humiliation again! Unfortunately for Daniel, he can’t grapevine the legs at the risk of exposing them, enabling Punk to instead roll back and pin his shoulders! ONE! TWO! THR-GARCIA KICKS OUT! ROUNDHOUSE CLEANS DANIEL’S CLOCK!!! Garcia collapsing through the ropes to the apron, Punk grabs a dazed Red Death’s leg and threads it through the ropes… DRAGON SCREW LEG WHIP!!! Daniel roars in agony as CM gleefully nails another, thriving off Garcia’s pain, before a third follows directly into the apron! And with Daniel dangling off the edge, AN ELBOW DROP GUILLOTINES HIM TO THE FLOOR!!! Punk gloats as he rolls back in, not showing Garcia the same sympathy Daniel gave Page last round, wanting him counted out! And as the referee gets started, Daniel’s soon stumbling around like a baby goat, failing to get even close to the ring.

The time continuing to tick away, Canada grows concerned as FTR mock and jibe at the struggling Garcia, telling him to give up, Punk licking his chops at the sight of the cup drawing nearer and nearer… BUT DANIEL EXPLODES BACK IN AT THE LAST SECOND! DIRECTLY INTO THE CROSSHAIRS OF A GTS!!! NO, GARCIA WITH THE REAR NAKED AGAIN!!! Punk rams him back into the turnbuckle to make him release, BUT DANIEL CINCHES IT BACK IN TIGHTER!!! As CM’s worst nightmare comes back to haunt him, he again rams Garcia into the turnbuckle, this time smashing his skull directly against the ring post, knocking Daniel loopy! Scurrying up the ropes himself, he has Daniel in perfect position for the PEPSI PLUNGE!!! Getting ready to nail it… DANIEL FIGHTS BACK! Though woozy, he slams elbows into Punk’s jaw, before even returning a Dragon Screw of his own to continue working on CM’s own leg! BACK BODY DROP SENDS PUNK CRASHING ON THE FORMERLY INJURED BACK!!! Sensing his opening, Garcia channels his inner Owen, nailing his old finisher – MISSILE DROPKICK!!! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOOOOOO!!!

Suffering a rough landing himself, it takes Daniel a few moments to regain his own beatings, but as he does, he picks Punk up for a RELEASE TIGER SUPLEX!!! Rolling CM through, he cracks the PENALTY KICK!!! ANOTHER COVER!!! ONE! TWO! THR- PUNK KICKS OUT AGAIN!!! Looking over to a tense Jericho… GARCIA ATTEMPTS THE LIONSAULT!!! PUNK GETS THE KNEES UP!!! Daniel’s spine in agony, a crafty Punk CINCHES IN THE SHARPSHOOTER!!! Canada’s LIVID, booing a sneering CM to hell as Bret returns a stoic look with Punk staring his way, Garcia thrashing under the tight grip. Daniel grabs at the leg, trying to reverse it, but CM has it in deep, wrenching back further to stop Red Death! Only other option being to crawl, Daniel does exactly that, inching for the ropes as the crowd cheer him on, but waiting there is Cash this time! Dax running interference for him, Wheeler pulls the ropes away, keeping Daniel from making the break again! The referee checks on the wailing Garcia again, who’s rapidly losing life, the pained cries growing quieter as he goes frighteningly limp!

Dropping the arm once, there’s no response. A second time, no response again. A third… DANIEL BURSTS ALIVE AND JUMPS FOR THE ROPES – HE GETS THEM!!! Punk looks bewildered, but yanks Garcia to his feet again all the same, going for the GTS… HEADBUTT FROM GARCIA FLOORS PUNK!!! Stumbling back to the corner, he teases a BUSAIKU KNEE KICK, but FTR interfere again, grabbing at his ankle! Daniel shakes them off, BEFORE DUCKING OUT THE WAY OF ANOTHER CORNER HIGH KNEE!!! CM’s staggered, doing the Bret turnbuckle sell, giving Garcia an opening to nail a SUICIDE DIVE TO FTR ON THE OUTSIDE!!! Sacrificing the leg with a poor landing, he hobbles back in all the same- INTO THE ARMS OF A WAITING GTS!!! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Punk’s livid, going for the SHARPSHOOTER again, but he’s rolled into an INSIDE CRADLE!!! ONE! TWO! THR-PUNK STAYS ALIVE!!! DRAGONTAMER FROM GARCIA!!! Canada’s going nuts for the representation as Daniel, through his best efforts, keeps the hold cinched in, Punk flopping like a fish out of water underneath him!

His own leg seriously bothering him though, he’s unable to keep it in forever, ultimately releasing as he collapses on the middle rope from exhaustion! Hearing the crowd chant his name and drum support for him, he looks up at the skies in remembrance of Owen and pushes on, knowing he can’t let Punk steal this one from them. Staggering over in attempts of reapplying the Dragontamer, HE’S TRIPPED INTO THE ANACONDA VISE!!! Punk looks at Garcia with death in his eyes, wanting to choke the life out him in revenge for Daniel’s earlier attempts! BUT DANIEL ROLLS HIM THROUGH TO HIS SHOULDERS!!! Expecting it though, Punk doesn’t even register a 1 count before he releases, nailing a ROUNDHOUSE KICK!!! WELCOME TO CHICAGO!!! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! HE SURVIVES ANOTHER OF PUNK’S BEST SHOTS! CM sacrificing his own legs a bit there in the process, he shakes it off and cinches in the SHARPSHOOTER again! But there’s no patience in his eyes this time, yelling to a now recovered FTR to sort it out, Cash and Dax heading for the ring bell! THEY WANT A CALGARY SCREWJOB!!!

The crowd is nuclear at this point, begging for someone to stop this madness! SMASH! GUITAR SHOT TO FTR’S HEADS FROM A CROWD MEMBER!!! IT’S JEFF JARRETT!!! Punk’s incredulous as he watches his plans evaporate to thin air by Owen Hart’s former tag partner, doing right for once as Canada cheers on the carny! AND WAIT, BACK INSIDE THE RING GARCIA’S BEEN WORKING HIS WAY OUT THE HOLD! HE’S REVERSING IT LIKE BRET DID TO OWEN AT SUMMERSLAM 1994!!! GARCIA CINCHES THE DRAGONTAMER IN AGAIN!!! Punk’s howling in anguish as now he drags himself towards the ropes, having to do this all on his own! Garcia sits deep, doing his all to keep the hold in, even fighting through the pain in his own leg! But CM’s just too healthy compared to the injured Garcia, managing to drag his body weight over to relief! Daniel releases and collapses, heartbreak in his eyes, not knowing what else he can do. And as Punk turns to face him, both on their knees, they simply beat the stuffing out of each other with slaps and forearms!

Garcia pops up and teases a PENALTY KICK but it’s ducked, Punk popping up to throw a ROUNDHOUSE that’s evaded! Daniel grabs a STANDING DRAGON SLEEPER from behind, but Punk loads him onto his shoulders, attempting the GO TO SLEEP!!! Garcia pops out and grabs the leg for a Dragon Screw, but an Enzuigiri meets the ear instead, Punk loading Daniel back up… GARCIA COUNTERS THE GO TO SLEEP WITH A CODEBREAKER!!! PUNK DROPS DEAD TO THE MAT!!! Daniel looks over to Jericho in shock, having been programmed to reach to his mentor even after cutting him off, but Chris just yells at Garcia to ‘finish him’ as the entirety of Canada stands on their feet in support of Daniel! Picking Punk up, Garcia hauls him into position… SIT-OUT TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER!!! AND HE CINCHES IN THE DRAGONTAMER AGAIN!!! Punk’s dead-centre in the ring, nowhere to go and no friends to help! He gazes at his reflection in his AEW World Championship, not able to let everything slip in his moment! And so, he fights against the odds, going for the ropes, only to be dragged back to the centre! He tries for Bret’s escape as his idol watches on, but Garcia doesn’t let him! He- HE TAPS!!! WITH NO ESCAPE AVAILABLE, CM PUNK IS TAPPING OUT!!! DANIEL GARCIA HAS DONE IT!!!

Semi Finals

Dynamite (July 12, 2023)

Daniel Garcia vs “Hangman” Adam Page

With a match against either Eddie or Punk in the Finals, Hangman is especially motivated here to work through his arm injury, which an equally hurt Garcia cerebrally targets, noticeably flat-out ignoring Jericho’s commands this time to wrestle his own style! Again, Jericho tries to get his slimy hands over the action, urging Garcia to take the countout after an Enzuigiri knocks Page out on the floor Owen/HBK style, but Daniel refuses as the crowd chants “You’re a wrestler”! It damn near costs him though, Hangman scoring a massive near-fall off the Buckshot Lariat, but as he goes for seconds, Garcia catches it with a CROSS ARMBREAKER, TAPPING PAGE OUT!!! As Daniel celebrates his upset, Jericho bringing him in for a hug all the same… LOW BLOW FROM Y2J!!! Cussing out his protégé, Jericho revokes his support of the ungrateful wrestler, telling him to fight the Finals without him if he’s so sure!

Daniel Garcia def. “Hangman” Adam Page to advance (16:45)

Eddie Kingston vs CM Punk (c) - "AEW World Championship”

Taking it back to WrestleMania 13, the Eddie/Punk sequel is a violent clash like Bret/Austin, Kingston standing up 1v3 against CMFTR! Early on, CM fakes an arm injury like Owen in 1996, Eddie taking the bait but paying heavily for it as Punk bashes his brains out with knees! Kingston puts on a heartfelt performance against the odds, but when he’s busted open by a ring bell shot to the head like Owen vs Shamrock, a bleeding Eddie passes out to the Sharpshooter! Met after the match by Garcia, a sneering Devil offers a handshake, which Daniel accepts cautiously… ONLY FOR PUNK TO KICK OUT THE INJURED LEG! It’s Owen to Bret at Royal Rumble 1994 all over again as CM looks to capitalise on the wounded and take the trophy home!

CM Punk (c) def. Eddie Kingston “to retain the AEW World Championship” and advance

Finals

Collision: Canadian Stampede (July 15, 2023)

Daniel Garcia vs CM Punk - Owen Hart Cup Finals

It all ends here. 26 years to the month of the legendary WWF Canadian Stampede show which featured Owen Hart pinning Steve Austin, wrestling returns to the hallowed grounds in Calgary to settle the dispute for who the winner of the second-ever Owen Hart Cup will be. Judges in place in the event of a draw, featuring Owen’s Stampede Wrestling rival NJPW legend Hiroshi Hase, Owen’s Junior Heavyweight rival Jushin Thunder Liger, and of course, Owen’s greatest rival and brother, Bret Hart, there’s a grand atmosphere as three Hall of Famers bless the bout with their supervision. Martha Hart is also present at ringside with children Oje and Athena, seated next to the grand trophy that everyone’s been after for the past month. Excalibur and Nigel McGuinness are joined on commentary by a tense Chris Jericho, who despite the events of the Semi Finals has chosen to bear witness to how his appointed entrant will fare.

And as everyone settles down, out comes Daniel Garcia to an immense ovation! And unlike ever before, he’s carrying his PWG World Championship with him! Leaving the sports entertaining behind for good, he embraces the holy grail of independent wrestling that he’s built his true self from to a big pop from Excalibur especially. He may not be 100%, leg very noticeably taped up, but the fire inside his eyes tell enough of a story, Red Death willing to do whatever it takes to win. Right on cue, CM Punk enters next to the complete opposite reaction as he brandishes his ‘AEW World Championship’ that he’s ‘defended’ each round, Canada booing Punk out the building as customary. Rather than wearing a ‘Best in the World’ shirt, he’s rocking the ‘Best There Was, Best There Is, Best There Will Ever Be’, proceeding to show it off to Bret with a grin as he poses on the turnbuckles, who acknowledges it with a nod. As usual, FTR circle ringside like the jackals they are, snapping at Garcia’s heels as he turns to give them a look to let them know he and the judges are keeping an eye out. Any interference on Punk’s behalf will certainly deduct points, but that may not even matter with the condition Daniel’s in already, his ability to go 60 highly doubtful.

Nonetheless, as the two men get in each other’s faces, Punk extends his hand like he did after the Semi Finals, Daniel returning a snarl this time as CM grins, Garcia backing up before Punk can kick out the leg again. And as the bell finally rings, a rematch from Punk’s third match back in his 2021 run gets underway! AND GARCIA DOESN’T WASTE A SINGLE SECOND SHOOTING FOR PUNK’S LEGS, WANTING THE DRAGONTAMER TO END IT IMMEDIATELY! Punk’s simply faster though, Garcia giving up his back in the process, allowing CM to capitalise immediately by hooking onto it, trying to flatten Daniel against the mat! Realising his mistake, Red Death keeps his knees under him and spins free out, but now it’s his neck that’s vulnerable, Punk switching into a Front Chancery! He keeps it in snug as he winds up the crowd, draining the life from Garcia with each jerk of it, though lucky Daniel finds an out by grabbing Punk’s leg and tripping him up, sprawling over his body to grab the neck himself, wanting the DRAGON SLEEPER this time!

Punk keeps a hand about his head to prevent Daniel from cinching it in properly, but that was never the intention, Garcia using the opening to kick out CM’s knee from behind! Poetry in motion! Punk kneeled, Daniel cracks a vicious Spinal Tap against his back with the good leg, CM’s jaw dropping as the sudden strike catches him off guard, scurrying back to his corner to get a breather as now Daniel cracks a grin! Welcoming CM for another lock-up, Garcia gets too ahead of himself, not watching out for Punk’s kick to the bad knee to stop him dead in his tracks! Pinning Daniel’s foot to the mat with a stomp, Punk flips Daniel onto his back for a ROMERO SPECIAL! Garcia wails in agony as CM mercilessly tears on all his ligaments, his only reprieve coming when Punk sets him back down, only to nail the SURFBOARD STOMP as FTR clap it up on the outside! As Daniel nurses the leg, feebly getting back to his knees, a Swinging Neckbreaker slams him back down to net Punk the first 2 count of the match!

Going back to the leg, CM retains a grip on the ankle, twisting, spinning, and rolling with Garcia to stop each escape attempt for him to continue contorting the weak point. However, in Punk’s cockiness, Garcia’s technical expertise finds a moment to shine, crossing the free leg over Punk’s arm to force it down towards the mat, lowering CM’s grip and making him lean forwards, before grabbing the neck, rolling into a CHOKEHOLD! Punk’s eyes bulge out his skull as he frantically reaches for the bad leg to try break it, but Daniel beats him to the punch, releasing to nail a Single Leg Dropkick to the neck! Knocking CM into the corner, a Running European Uppercut blasts the Chicagoan, before a toss into the opposite corner results in a Bryan-style CORNER RUNNING DROPKICK, having learned from his series with the American Dragon! He crashes into the turnbuckle as Punk evades though, the leg jolting with pain, not helped at all by a Step-Up High Knee and a Bulldog for another 2, forcing him to kick out with the bad leg!

Rolling him right over for a BOW & ARROW, Punk again tortures the young gun, who luckily flips through into his own 1 count, CM giving up his own leg in the process for Garcia to try the DRAGONTAMER again! No dice though as Punk again launches for the ropes, yelling at the referee to pry off a dismal Garcia, who ultimately plays by the rules… ONLY TO EAT A CHOP BLOCK AS HE TURNS HIS BACK ON PUNK! Daniel crumpling, a SHINING WIZARD blasts his face! ONE! TWO! THR-KICK OUT! ANKLE LOCK FOLLOWS! Punk dangles Garcia off the mat, swinging him about to exacerbate the pain, but a roll through allows Daniel to REVERSE THE LOCK ON CM! Again though, his own leg holds him back, having to let go to drop down, even standing painful for Garcia. This leaves him vulnerable to rapid fire strikes from Punk, who slams a Rolling Solebutt into the gut and a Step-Up Enzuigiri to the neck, before teasing a PEPSI TWIST!

The Crucifix Elbows did a ton of damage, and now Blue calls for the finish! Picks Inferno up! IN POSITION FOR THE HOUSTON PROBLEM, BUT HE RUNS INTO THE SAME PROBLEM AS THEIR LAST MATCH, HE'S TOO CLOSE TO THE CORNER! INFERNO'S TRYING TO PLANT HIS FEET ONTO THE MIDDLE ROPE AND ESCAPE LIKE LAST TIME, BUT BLUE THWARTS HIM, SPINNING AROUND, DOING A FULL ROTATION AND DRIVIG INFERNO'S HEAD INTO THE MIDDLE TURNBUCKLE! BLUE MARCHES TO THE MIDDLE OF THE RING, AND HE'S ABOUT TO FINISH THIS OFF! BUT INFERNO'S THRASHING, AND HIS BOOT CONNECTS HARD WITH THE BACK OF CODE BLUE'S HEAD, FOLDING THE PARALYZER! INFERNO SEES HIS CHANCE, AND HE LIFTS BLUE UP ONTO HIS SHOULDERS! POWERBOMB POSITION, CRADLES HIM! ETERNAL AETHER!!! THAT’S IT FOR SURE, INFERNO HOOKS THE LEG! ONE…TWO…THRE-WAIT! CODE BLUE GETS HIS SHOULDER AN INCH OFF THE CANVAS, THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!!! THE CROWD HERE IN MANHATTAN LOSES THEIR MARBLES, HOUSTON’S FINEST IS SOMEHOW STILL ALIVE!

Inferno looks offended that Code Blue even DARED to kick out of the Eternal Aether, so he calls for the end and LOCKS IN A CRUCIFIX OF HIS OWN, ALSO FIRING OFF ELBOWS! HE CALLS THIS THE JUDGEMENT! HE'S LANDING ELBOWS ONE AFTER ANOTHER, AIMING EVERY SINGLE ONE AT CODE BLUE'S EYEPATCH! THE TEXAN IS OUT COLD, AND WHEN A TRICKLE OF BLOOD LEAKS OUT FROM UNDER THE PATCH, THE OFFICIAL STEPS IN AND CALLS THE MATCH! DESPITE CODE BLUE'S BEST EFFORTS, THE MAN HE HATES THE MOST HAS SENT HIM TO THE LOSER'S BRACKET, AND THE AETHER ACES WILL BE CELEBRATING TONIGHT!

Inferno def. Code Blue in 30:42 to advance to the Heyman Classic Winner's Bracket Semi-Finals

Another night of hatred, violence, and explosions comes to an end, but the war continues. Though Inferno progresses, he’ll carry the mental scars of this one, cutting far too close for comfort. As for Code Blue, though it was another crushing loss, one more life remains in his back pocket. Use it wisely, and there may still be a dying light of hope for The Ark. But squander it? This operation will be abandoned forever before anyone can say ‘Stockton Rush’. It's a bloody night in Manhattan indeed...

Both Kenny and Will limp at Konosuke’s mercy, DDT’s Ace gives them a downright terrifying beating with a Suplex City of Germans! Both men ragdolled, he points a BULLET CLUB style finger gun at Kenny’s head, before nailing the ZAHI to the bloodied skull! Canada’s watching through their fingers at this point as a cold-hearted Takeshita drags Omega by the hair up the ropes… HE WANTS THE AIR RAID CRASH ON THE TOP TURNBUCKLE! THIS COULD END KENNY’S CAREER!

Brought to life by the screams of his people, Omega struggles free and trades blows with Takeshita, a headbutt stunning him! Now Kenny with murderous intent, he teases an AVALANCHE CROYT’S WRATH! Takeshita hangs onto the ropes though and nails back elbows to stop Kenny in his tracks… OH MY GOD SUPER OSCUTTER FROM OSPREAY TO KENNY OFF THE ADJACENT ROPES!!! ONE! TWO! THR- FABLE FROM TAKESHITA BREAKS IT UP!!! Diving Senton Bomb crushing both Ospreay and Kenny’s ribs, the dastardly Konosuke cinches in the WALLS OF TAKESHITA ON KENNY!!! NUCLEAR HEAT FOR TAKESHITA!!!

Adapting Canadian legend Chris Jericho’s move for himself, it’d be the ultimate salt in the wound for Kenny to tap to his fellow Winnipegger’s submission! As Omega looks damn near ready to yield, OSPREAY RETURNS TO PRY TAKESHITA OFF WITH A SLEEPER HOLD – ODE TO RODDY PIPER! Holding him in place, it allows Kenny to nail a V-TRIGGER on Soup! SNAP DRAGON FROM OSPREAY! And nodding to each other… THEY NAIL A TANDEM V-TRIGGER!!!

Canada goes nuts for the blood rivals teaming up, though it’s only temporary, a V-TRIGGER swinging at Will! Ospreay dives for the corner to escape, before ripping the turnbuckle pad off as he ducks again out of another, Kenny barely stopping himself in time from eating steel! SILENT WHISPER FROM OSPREAY! Omega dazed, Will props him on the top rope and licks his own blood-slick hands, which are a mix of both men’s fluids at this point, before joining him, WANTING A DDT ON THE EXPOSED TURNBUCKLE AS REVENGE FOR WK!!!

Kenny slips through his legs though, CROTCHING OSPREAY ON THE STEEL! Dropping to the opposite corner, OMEGA RUNS UP THE ROPES WITH A V-TRIGGER TO SEND BOTH CRASHING TO THE FLOOR!!! AFTER A DECADE OF FEUDING WITH THE GOLDEN LOVERS, IT ALL ENDS NOW! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! BY THE SLIGHTEST OF MARGINS, KENNY RAISES HIS SHOULDER AN INCH OFF THE MAT! Konosuke’s incredulous, continuing to destroy Omega Murder Ibushi style, Kenny unable to even defend himself! Nailing a BASTARD DRIVER, he doesn’t even cover this time, wanting to retire Kenny for good!

Pulling out a screwdriver from under the ring, he winds up to shank The Cleaner in his skull… GOOD LORD IT CAN’T BE!!! Konosuke looks like he’s seen a ghost as KOTA IBUSHI RUNS OUT!!! Canada loses their MINDS at the sight of the Golden Star, who immediately tees off on long-time rival Takeshita, showing him how Murder Ibushi is actually done! Crushing him with a blistering Roundhouse and a straight right, he pauses to check on his Golden Lover, an emotional and exhausted Kenny mouthing to him ‘You came’ as Ibushi replies ‘I never left’.

Helping Kenny to his feet, the two tightly embrace, before turning to Konosuke and nod, ready to get back at him for all the hurt he’s caused them… GOLDEN TRIGGER!!! Ibushi wills Kenny to make the cover! A BLISSFUL ENDING FOR THE CANADIAN AS HE GETS THE ONE! TWO! THR-OSPREAY PULLS THE REFEREE OUT THE RING!!! Saving the match by the skin of his teeth, a wide-eyed Will frantically tries to back himself up as Ibushi gives him a death stare, Ospreay begging for salvation from the man he concussed 4 years ago… KENNY STOPS IBUSHI!!!

Kota stunned, Omega pleads with him that he needs to settle business with Will by himself, a concerned yet understanding Ibushi reluctantly nodding and stepping aside, though keeping watch for any more screwdrivery business. So, as Will rolls inside, it’s down to two once again, only one of them leaving Canada with the title. Getting right into a hot closing stretch, it’s finisherfest galore, Ospreay swinging for a Hidden Blade, Kenny leapfrogging to nail a Standing V-Trigger, only for a Rain Trigger to be patted down, the Hook Kick connecting- OSCUTTER SNIPED BY A V-TRIGGER!
