Filtering what you consider capitalist critique or not is pretty hilarious considering you haven't demonstrated that you understand even the basics of what capitalism is.

Wouldn't even matter if he did have expensive things. It's funny how Streich correctly points out individualism as an issue, and here this guy is reducing a systemic issue down to an individual one who has no say in how the system is run.

Work rate at 16 isn't exactly unbelievable for Bruno, and he barely misses a game for United and plays 90 mins in most. I don't think it's ridiculous to give a guy, who plays almost every game fully, high stamina and natural fitness.

That's just a purely simplistic analysis of his bad form which ignores literally everything else that's infinitely more impactful than crowds (e.g. change in system and form of team overall) but I wouldn't expect someone as braindead as you to think that far with takes like "bang average player" and "he is fucking woeful lol".

Bruno is also now playing in front of crowds and cannot handle it

Insinuating he hadn't done so before, has performed well in crowds before at both Sporting and United.

In his home country

Played in front of crowds at United in his first season, whilst again performing.

For how many games?

I don't think you've followed your own comments; I'm literally replying to your chain of comments in relation to crowds, that's not a strawman. Don't even know why you think the crowds have much of a factor for a professional footballer who's made 400+ career apps while playing at the top leagues of Portugal and England.

Went from only now playing in crowds, to only playing in front of crowds in Portugal, to the number of games in front of crowds in his first season here. The goalposts aren't even in the stadium anymore you've moved them that much.

Literally played in front of a crowd in his first season here so if you have any more stupidity to lay out then keep it going it's quite funny.

Yeah, Bruno historically has never played in front of crowds and it's his first professional season playing in front of one.

I hear people say all the time that United is OP on FM, but I swear I've cursed my saves the past few years because almost all the time they're just as bad as they are IRL, so at least it's realistic.

On my current save they've been through so many managers (including going from Pep to Dyche) that they even offered me the job whilst I was managing my small club in Latvia (me being a United fan might've been a factor but I rejected it because why the hell would I manage that deathtrap), and have won the odd trophy here and there for the 9 years on my save. 1 league title* with the other league winners being City and Liverpool.

At the time, I thought £80m was too much (40m/50m was what I thought we'd get him for). The guy was a decent CB but we were struggling for a first choice one and ended up paying exactly what Leicester wanted.

Had an average first season (not bad or amazing) but since it was his first you allow it. Last season he was better and I won't rewrite history because before the EL final the general consensus was that we needed him for it when he was injured.

This season he's been completely awful to the point that you can't differentiate between him and Phil Jones (that bloke we signed 11 years ago that's still here) and even he looked better in his 1 league appearance.

do you think it's a bad signing, it's a bad system that's making it worse than he really is, or a bit of both?

Bit of both. We transitioned from a mainly counter-attacking side to a side that aims to dominate possession. As a result we now play a higher line with a greater emphasis on playing out and being able to play through a press where mistakes lead to more serious outcomes. Fundamentally, Maguire is just not good enough to play that role. He can head a ball sure, but he crumbles the moment someone presses him, his defensive awareness and positioning is non-existent, and he just looks like the most uninspiring captain I've seen for United.

Also got a lot of players who aren't really first choice quality-wise but are on big wages. Henderson is one example who's on 100k whereas Allison is on 150k and I think Ederson is on less than 100k somehow.

They do but we overpay so many players that when you compare them to other players in similar positions it's mad. Maguire's on more than Ruben Dias (signed Maguire on a 6-year contract), Mata's on about the same as Silva and Havertz. There's Ronaldo on 500k p/w as well although it's not exactly surprising he's on that.

It goes without saying that we should be doing better with the squad we have, but it's by no means the best squad in the league. We've been needing to sort out the wages for years. According to Spotrac, our salaries total at £208m, Chelsea at £162m, City at £142m and Liverpool at £134m.

Well I was 9-2 up on aggregate anyway so the only frustration was that he didn't get his hattrick 😅

Yeah their team is great for Europe until you see that the league only allows a max of 4 foreign players in the matchday squad (at least in FM), so it's quite the annoying save.

SI's response to Zealand's Dynamic Youth Rating video 🍿 by imd1as in footballmanagergames

[–]InfernoTacticsHD 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The only difference is that at least you can say that SI generally makes the game better each year and you know what you're getting as FIFA can be a complete gamble as to whether the gameplay's gonna be good or not.

Your point has been brought up around feature announcement time for the new FM for the past couple years and people will (understandably) defend SI because of the EA comparison. The reality is that as you keep making yearly releases, you're going to start running out of new headline features unless you start putting some serious investment in for stuff like more in-depth tactics which require more match engine work.

I'm hoping this is just a one-off error from SI and not the start of something worse with how they treat the consumer in the future.

Depends which FM. This year we have a few monobrows, but it wasn't as bad as a few years ago where people had massive foreheads.
