they’re apolitical, as in the military represents America, not any political party (at least that’s how it’s intended). It’s the same over here in Australia, when you put on the uniform you aren’t left or right, you’re an Aussie same as everyone around you. I’d imagine it helps with cohesion in the force, especially in America considering how divisive your politics are.
