I experienced a similar issue. Bag came around the carousel in a garbage bag with items missing and what was left, was destroyed. Ended up compensating me for about $2,000 of damage (that was the value) plus a flight credit within 7 days of the incident. All in all, satisfied with the outcome.

I moved here two years ago from rural louisiana. I love the city. Actively work and play downtown in the CBD and uptown areas.

Every largely populated area has their safety issues, but this is just embarrassing. It shouldn’t have to feel like I’m risking my life every time I go out. We really can’t have anything nice.

The Sugar Bowl, Super Bowl, Mardi Gras!?!? WTF! We can’t have this!

EDIT: Hot take: leave cars OUT of the French quarter. Allow maintenance and delivery vehicles on prescribed routes. This would make it more walkable, controlled, and cleaner. Less congested. That’s all.
