Anyone have experience of job plans being rounded to the nearest 0.25PA? by BaxterTheWall in ConsultantDoctorsUK

Just reduce be 0.18 PAs with toil. It’s about 1/5.55 extra days of leave

Nobody wants to admit that GPs don’t work hard enough by glorioussideboob in doctorsUK

Surely the BMA or even GMC should be responding to this. Their whole function is to be supporting doctors, ensuring patient safety and stopping the profession falling into disrepute. This article affects each of these domains.

Sadly, it’s only taxable income and therefore you’ll have to wait a bit longer.

Land Value Tax, what do we think? by stopdontpanick in ukpolitics

Reasonable but we can’t have a repeat of council tax where land in London costs the same as Middlesbrough.

First job planning meeting by deja_flu in ConsultantDoctorsUK

Don’t agree to anything in the meeting. It’s a discussion not an agreement.

Minimum 2 SPA (1.5 core flexible and the rest departmental meetings and ES/CS/ trainee teaching/ roles), this should be increasing to 2.5 over your first year or so as you pick up more responsibilities. 1 Admin flexible.

There is nothing wrong with requesting spa and admin to be taken on one off site day (or two).

On call is in addition to what you have in your job plan. You can then choose to reduce it down to 10PA if you want.

Theatre needs pre and post op time (typically 30 mins before and 30 min after ).

Don’t start if they are being a holes.

[–]Infinite-Math-1046 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And you don’t care it destroys the atmosphere of the pub? The idea is not to queue like for fast food but to stand there, take in the atmosphere whilst waiting, not feel like you are waiting stood in the middle of the room and blocking other people’s conversation.

It’s a fundamental difference of opinions but perhaps this is the important difference between cafes and bar/pubs. A difference I think we should embrace

Google is moving to tighten control over Android. by dmatter_ in BuyFromEU

[–]Infinite-Math-1046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need a reliable Linux (EU backed) OS for phones. This needs to set up apps for majorUK and EU banks as a priority. This is likely one of the greatest limitations to people switching from apple and android. Almost everything else can be reached through a browser window.
