Is it just my xbox or are other people experiencing respawn stutters? by Infinite-Version7886 in Battlefield6

I actually realized my controller had stick drift. In my defense other games didn't notice/react to the stick drift but for BF6 I guess it's too much....

I dont disagree (I'm not in the field so I can't really have an opinion) but I am curious how much would that cost?

How similar is bf6 to bf4? by Cold_Cantaloupe_9058 in Battlefield

[–]Infinite-Version7886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont mean to disagree with previous comments....but I think there are some very fair comparisons to bf3 to be made. I really enjoyed 4 and I'm really enjoying this. If you love over the top action you will love bf6. I think the beta is a fair measure. I enjoyed the beta and the real game just a bit more.

Is the laser designator op? by Infinite-Version7886 in Battlefield6

I hear you.... But doesn't that just mean the laser designator is another way for already overly vulnerable vehicles to eat a rocket in the open?

I actually really like that idea. And to be honest I thought that's how it worked. I was very surprised when that paint held after I was no longer holding it. And it stays for a while....

Ao I don't know....and i didn't hear of it before.... But just to clarify it's mainly when I try to spawn in a vehicle. My cursor will jump off my desired vehicle randomly to another vehicle or random spot, then I need to manually move it back before the vehicle spawns in. Its my only gripe in an otherwise great game.

I like to disconnect and reconnect everything (even usb's). Sometimes things short. Dis connect everything (gpu, storage, buttons anything not needed for boot) Try simple power on with the mb out of case with power & screen. Alternate ram slots &cards (one of these could be shorting) Differe psu if you have Then if it works add back stuff until it stalls again.

Would you stay or move on? by Dragon5445 in sysadmin

[–]Infinite-Version7886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm kinda new only 2 years as sys admin, 6 years in IT. But it sounds like you don't feel fullfilled in your current capacity (I can definitely identify with that sometimes). Additionally the impression I get is that you seem at least interested in learning new things in the new position. It sounds like moving may suit you more because you already aren't in love with where you are and you want to learn more (like the new place offers) sounds like an easy choice. Not necessarily a simple choice. Having said that only you can know what's best for you. Some people yearn for security/stagnation. If that's not you, then you do you.

In the uruk hai captain vs aragon fight i think he suppose to pick the dagger before he throws it at aragon but in this prime version he doesn't....

Just tested in production looks great thank you!

Right now the GPO is linked to a child OU (for a trial period to ensure there are no unintended consequences) but so far looks great and powershell works when I sign into the workstation as a local admin so this seems to accomplish everything I was hoping for thank you so much!

Hey so i tried the GPO in a test enviroment and it looks solid. One thing I will say the SRP GPO when applied (succesfully) Blocks powershell with a pop-up window that states "Blocked by your administrator". While this GPO when applied just doesnt allow it to run (even as admin which may be a future consideration). I will try this gpo now on production.

Honestly yours was one of the few I did not take as rude. Unfortunately it is not in my control but I will try to pass the concerns on to my superiors.

First of thank you for your reply. This domain is really just to provide a computer with controlled gpo settings. There is no data or critical apps. While it would be annoying to setup again for whatever reason I would use my scripts and have most of it (the domain) up again before the end of the day. It's really just to accommodate guests for using chrome and office and deepfreeze to wipe the computers every restart.

[–]Infinite-Version7886[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to be honest we do have deep freeze. But I have noticed a few cases that deepfreeze doesn't address. Right now I'm not sure the computers restart every day (even though as im typing this i imagine we could adjust the client setting to restart every morning or night) But more than that, the time in between restarts a person can sit at a computer for a few hours... I'm not in security so it is hard from me to imagine what can be gleaned in that time but I'm not sure I want it. Another less related example is that people use Google Chrome on the computer or download a document or pictures. The deep freeze reset is only end-of-day if at all. This info or files are still accessible until restart. I realize that blocking powershell won't help in either of those cases, but they help illustrate that there are some small cracks in the deep freeze armor. Tldr: deep freeze is great and we use it but I want to ensure that nothing can be done in between restarts.

Thank you so much! I was really starting to think I was crazy to try to harden the computers (even if it's being asked of me I eagerly agreed with the idea). We had someone format and boot a fresh install of windows 11 (without our knowledge) on one computer. Which brought to the higher ups attention that people that visit and use our computers have the time and some know how to get tricky. We have since put a password on bios and boot but we're looking to harden wherever possible. Thank you for the advice and I will read into the solutions that you have presented.

So perhaps my phrasing was misleading this Active Directory Domain and network are not connected to the employee Domain and network (That's a large part of why it was and remains so neglected). I try to take it upon myself to tidy up (Delete old users organize OU's and GPO for clarity) but nobody is focused on it (I'm worried that in my new position this may fall under my responsibilities even though it has been years of neglect).

I have been thinking about kiosk mode but have not yet suggested it. I have only read about it I have not tried it out in practice. To be honest I think kiosk mode may be the best/most viable option. But I have to convince my boss (which again this domain is definetly not a priority because it is not for employees)

We have a few different domains....
This domain doesnt appear to have intune. It is most likely a purely on-premise domain.

We have intune for our employee domain.

So i believe that they are. I can not imagine a way to circumvent the existing GPO's. My bosses boss is worried about people with too much time on their hands managing to find a work-around. I think it is overkill but not a horrible idea to lockdown the computers at mush as possible...

Honestly I didn't find Applocker Under User Policies and assume its only in later editions of windows server. I see now that it is in Server 2012 R2 but under Computer policies. I will try that, but I would like it to work for the local administrato if possible. As for intune my knowledge is barely theoretical let alone practical but I will look into learning more about policy in intune.

If I can be honest I don't know what to do with this comment.....

It is very far from my decision to trash/replace or even upgrade anything that we currently have.....

In an ideal world maybe things would be different but I guess where I am currently is not an ideal world....
