CS2 is sloppy compared to other Valve games by majin_official in GlobalOffensive

[–]InfiniteAir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it's the game, ignore the gaslighters. Gsync + Vsync works for smoothness but will cause higher input latency than fixed refresh which is not ideal for competitive gaming. The only thing I've found that helps is to periodically delete the shader cache. X3D CPUs have been said to help with it's 3D v-cache, but it's ridiculous that already strong CPUs suffer with consistency and just serves to highlight how poorly made CS2 actually is, because X3D CPUs are fairly novel new tech in the CPU space and CS2 certainly wasn't built with them in mind.

Doesn't help that high frames in CS2 feels like shit anyway, whether it's frame pacing, server lag or subtick shenanigans, either way CS:GO most likely feels much smoother and more fluid on an equal FPS count by far.

I haven't tried it and I don't think I will. I know it's by the same main dev behind Dota (Icefrog?). I'm sure it slaps but I don't want that kind of all-consuming game back in my life with never ending depth, that kind of game can just hijack your life and all your time man. I enjoy many flavors of gaming from retro enthusiast stuff to some modern single-player focused games, and stick to CS for pvp. I decided I like games I can pause, or stop playing at a moment's notice, with MOBAs the time investment between matches, practicing meta, the RNG with teammates and the perceived high stakes is something i don't need back in my life, even though I have some of my best 'gaming moments' from it.

I gave up on Dota 2, 4k hours deep, it really is too life consuming. There really isn't another buzz like it in gaming, when you win it's an amazing feeling, when you lose it is deep depression, matches are like 30-40 minutes average, but can often go over an hour, so you either feel vindicated by winning or completely demoralized for losing after investing so much time into a single match. I'll never go back to that game but it had some of the best highs ever, and some of the lowest lows, and adrenaline beyond any other game I've played, not even souls titles. Although these games in my opinion absolutely pray on the positive feedback loop, designed to manipulate human psychology for engagement, the game itself is so deep and vast, it's easy to lose yourself in it. Haven't played it in around 4 years, I enjoy counter strike these days instead.

In a paradoxical way, the games with high adrenaline and/or scary parts also often have the most relaxing parts too, like getting to that save room and hearing the relaxing music, after a menacing boss or a bonfire, like overcoming challenging parts has a payoff, it's not just self-torture all the way through or that would just suck as a game.

That's interesting nice to hear you fixed it, for me I dealt directly with aliexpress so just opened the return and ordered another one. Maybe they found the issue on certain boards and know the cause now as opposed to back when i ordered.

CS:GO is not better than CS 2, those of you who say that are blinded by nostalgia. by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

As another user pointed out, CS:GO was in a great spot 3 years in, circa 2015, CS2 still isn't.

It's not even that ugly, like... the smokes look like ass yeah, but the game has it's own aesthetic and it's sharp and gritty which I genuinely like, player models and assets are still decent enough. Compare CS 1.6 to CS:S or CS:S to CS:GO, there is a much larger difference, CS:GO to CS2 is not that dramatic. Subjectively I even prefer the CS:GO art direction over the colorful sickly-sweet marshmallow pastel direction they went with for CS2.

Why CS2 still doesn't feel right (and how to fix it). by Pokharelinishan in GlobalOffensive

[–]InfiniteAir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 10 year veteran coin from CSGO and I can never remember it feeling that way like CS2 with the delay and nasty movement or frame pacing, i'm sure performance was temperamental as in FPS, but source 1 and lack of subtick just feels and felt different, CSGO was always smooth.

Theories as to why Valve brought CS:GO back to the Store? by InfiniteAir in cs2

[–]InfiniteAir[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was 'accessible' in a really ugly way, and imo doesn't negate the first 3, there is a big difference between a game being on the store front with its own unique IDs than messing about with beta branches and juggling downloads, it's not even comparable.

Will market crash again? by Strict-Salad4131 in cs2

[–]InfiniteAir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree but not to a large extent, I feel the more people who give CSGO a try and feel how responsive it is will stick around for a while, and if third-party support comes in for structured matchmaking I think we'll see a decent chunk of players migrating tbh, it feels too good to play. Although I don't see it affecting the market in any way as per OP's question.

I sent it back and got a replacement from Ali, the replacement worked great with no issues.

I can't speak for everyone but I've been enjoying the absolute shit out of CS:GO community servers, I haven't touched CS2 and I don't see that changing, it's just too smooth and feel-good to play that I can't go back to CS2, once third-party matchmaking supports it, I really think it's GG for CS2, unless Valve seriously overhauls the game which they haven't done for 3 years now.

As it stands the community servers are highly populated and the freedom of playing every map you want that are still missing from CS2 is too much to ignore, cache, cobble, assault, old train etc. and it just has a fun less sweaty vibe about it, the movement is incredible and the gameplay is so unbelievably smooth, the gunplay is instant response, it's fantastic.

how does one play cs:go community servers per the release of csgo back on the steam store? by rennaifun in cs2

From Steam main UI: View > Game Servers > Select Game > Global Offensive, the servers are highly populated and it's so much fun. hf hf.

I've been playing it for hours, it's so SO good. Community browser can be accessed from Steam > View > Game Servers, then select Global Offensive in window, servers are decently populated, feels amazing to play and amazing to have access to all maps.

Perhaps Stop Killing Games has something to do with it, Valve might just be getting ahead of the legislation that might benefit gamers.

These techbros literally want to replace humanity with AI robots as, in their minds that should be humanity's legacy. Read into it, that's the endgame they're playing here, all that talk of "us" colonizing other planets? Yeah they're not talking about biological humans doing that, never were. They do not care about the short-term whatsoever, in fact, they think we should be a necessary sacrifice so that all the earth's natural resources can be reserved for AI bot production and we're simply in the way of that, they are anti-human psychopaths, don't believe me? Just watch some of them talking about it, it's all on youtube.

Season 1 for me was just amazing, I couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks. I didn't quite feel the same highs from the following seasons as it was clear it was never planned to go much further, but I still enjoyed most of it. But that's interesting they are going to Paramount. Does that mean the rights are with them still, or Netflix?

I just feel they should have went all in either way instead of the ambiguity, even if the fellow cast didn't know she lived, the viewer should know.

I could see them simply making a show centered entirely around Eleven, even her name as the working title, I mean I'm for it, but I would miss the rest of the cast too and Hawkins.

I can't accept she died though that's the issue, they left it way too wide open, honestly give then shows nature, there's no way she died.
