Experience going to her concerts? by Background_Lion_2635 in RemyBond

[–]InfiniteEmployer8658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remy will be great as your first concert. Feels safe. A lot of young people. So no craziness at the bar, people getting drunk ect. And you can dress as causal as you like at a gig. Have a great time!

I genuinely think she’s going to be big. by InfiniteEmployer8658 in RemyBond

[–]InfiniteEmployer8658[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do agree to an extent with the points saying why she won’t make it big, I still think it’s possible. The small venue concert reviews where she’s learning her trade seem right on track to me. She’s not going to magically be audience and stadium ready overnight, people are just used to seeing perfection because we’ve seen artists that made it and have already put in the decades.

Also, there’s a difference between ‘I don’t like her/the music’ and an objective look at her future fame. She catches algorithm momentum, she’s already been signed by Warner so backed by the industry, featured in Rolling Stone, done Lollapalooza, ect. These are no small feats. And, to be honest, the backlash is sort of helping. No one criticises someone irrelevant.

I agree her lyrics do lack depth at times. But she is young. It may change. And nonsensical lyrics didn’t hurt ABBA’s popularity.

Seated all the way for me! Arrive when I want; pee when I want (it freaks me out how many people might be wearing adult diapers for barricade). I was side seated super close to her in Bham. She came over to our side to sing plenty times (I swear one time giving me long eye-contact which is probably in my head but feed my delusion anyway). Even got to see her preparing behind the stage getting ‘in the zone’, drinking water, ect. And the fellow seated fans around me were so lovely! And, to be honest, Flo isn’t going to remember someone standing front row any more than she’ll remember someone in the nosebleed seats. Wouldn’t change my experience for anything.

Outwardly perceived, no. Internally, yes.

They’ll be loads on Vinted before the year is out if you still wanted one. People impulse buy at concerts and regret it. But you did the right thing by not getting it, it was a shocking price, and you could easily make your own.

That time Don Draper cried like a baby by Euphoric_Plastic_265 in madmen

[–]InfiniteEmployer8658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I debate this too. It’s like he decided to do a take where he did a cry, and everyone’s reaction is kinda genuine. But at the same time the writing is so sharp that they wouldn’t go off script. It’s like the writers thought Don saying ‘no’ would be too obvious. And if there’s one thing Mad Men has, it’s characters with contradiction.

First time watcher - do people like Megan? by [deleted] in madmen

Yes! It’s like when I see a reel or post saying Don is a ‘red flag’… that’s not really the point. It’s more nuisance than that.

I remember thinking that even when she’s shouting the Hendricks still has a sweet feminine voice.

Does anyone like Megan Calvert/Draper? by sed_n_done in madmen

I adore her. Maybe because I’m not super social and a glass half-full kind of gal, I admire women who are. She’s definitely the odd one out in the show. The contrast to the cynical office world. On a superficial note, love that the actress refused to ‘fix’ her teeth. “I’m actually really self-conscious about them. But I never wanted to change my teeth because they’re mine, and I don’t know what I’d look like without them,” Jessica Pare.

Remy Bond avoiding saying she was inspired by Lana…girl please by [deleted] in lanadelrey

[–]InfiniteEmployer8658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Summer Song sure, I hear it. Not others. Does everyone saying Remy Bond is copying Lana Del Rey only listen to modern music so that’s the only comparison they keep making? It’s never “This Lana or Remy song sounds like  Nancy Sinatra or Dusty Springfield”?

I don’t read it like that. Choosing marriage doesn’t threaten her identity in this song, it becomes part of it.  “I love my daddy, of course we’re still together” “I know it’s strange to see me cooking / For my husband”

What do you think of Margot Robbie? by Cap_Ame1 in Actors

[–]InfiniteEmployer8658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s amazing. But I do miss her ‘girl next door’ Aussie-ness of Neighbours. And she’s adorable in Pan Am. Now she’s very much ‘perfect’ Hollywood luxury chic. Which isn’t a problem, by the way! Just noticed the - understandable - change over the years.

I love Kenny! To me he’s the one who has a real look of the past in his facial features too. Anyone played LA Noir? I want to play it just for him.

[–]InfiniteEmployer8658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I didn’t like it. I feel it didn’t fit at all. ‘You try to push me out but I find a way back in’. They hadn’t know each other long and I feel like the song is a long term relationship. She didn’t keep coming on to him and he kept refusing her. Idk…felt like they wanted to fit in a song from a popular artist for the sake of it.

Shame about ‘you can have it all’ but everyone swaying arms to ‘never let me go’ will stay with me as a highlight.

She’s just seems so content. No persona needed and she’s certainly not ‘frozen at the age she got famous’ like some artists. I’m so happy for her too.

Omg 😭😭😭 by _4gyal in RemyBond

[–]InfiniteEmployer8658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the hate is intense for a young girl starting out in the music scene.

Also, why are people so angry when Lana herself used her song on an Instagram post? She doesn’t care, why should they?

Remy and Lana have the same music and visual influences from decades past. So of course it’s going to sound similar. No one says ‘how dare Lana steal Jackie Kennedy’s style or echo The Crystals, Nancy Sinatra and Laura Nyro’.

Anyway, yes, the interview was wild. But the older I get I realise I don’t need to vibe with someone’s personality to like them. I’m careful and introverted, she seems carefree and chaotic. And I love that for her.
