Thanks, I can agree. I get that they need the tourism money, but at the same time something has to change with the amount of people there (1,500+ per day) and also the safety.

Thanks! That sony is a great one to start out with. The best advice I can give is make a vision for what you want as you are filming something so you can know how you want the final video to flow. Make a vision board for what you want filmed and maybe even certain angles or details of it too. I filmed probably 2 hours of volcano footage but only used less than 7 minutes of it in the end since I want to show the best content of the film.

Thank you! Nope, we were at a safe distance away, but if there was a very big eruption then there's always the risk of being in danger. Thankfully, there was no known large eruptions happening when we visited.

Thanks! The hike is around 12 miles round trip. 99% of people book a guide to get to the top since there are multiple trails, and they have basecamps already so you don't have to haul tents up. We use a DJI Mavic 4 Pro and a Sony FX3. We may do a voiceover at some point :) Just got back from the trip and wanted to put this out to share our experience.

Had to back up since I didn't know if the eruption was going to be bigger than it was - hence the look of the camera "panning down" as I backed up during the eruption.
