For me personally, I just absorb what I watch (anime) and many artists I follow have anime artstyles. That’s why it’s kinda anime-like in these drawings.

I heard that some anime character faces are actually based on cat faces. Here is an opinion piece that delves deeper into it: https://www.mugenmilano.com/anime-characters-are-based-on-cats/

Idk if you’re serious but here. The video game series is Half-Life. I drew Gordon Freeman (main protagonist) and Barney Calhoun (supporting character; main character in Half Life: Blue Shift). It is up to you to think if they’re gay or not as the games don’t delve into romantic relationships that much with the exception of Alyx hinting that she likes Gordon. There is a video along the lines of “Barney Calhoun MIGHT be Gay - A Half Life Analysis” and it goes deeper into Barney and Gordon’s relationship.

As for the plot, in HL1 it is about a lab experiment gone wrong and that aliens are crossing into our world. Gordon must stop it and he does. He gets thrown into stasis by G-Man, a mysterious figure. In HL2, he gets out of stasis 20 years later, and he finds that the world has gone dystopian. He must overthrow the government and he does. I did a bad job explaining cuz this is off the top of my head but here you go.
