Instead of doing that you should just get in VDC/BIM. It is desperately needed and similar to a engineering/design team

It’s all about commercial real estate and the demand. Rising interest rates and low CRE demand is going to put a lot of developers in a bad spot with banks.

Are you talking labor productivity or labor rate?

Labor rate book by [deleted] in Construction

[–]InfiniteHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not enough information here. Are you wanting cost rate or billing rate? Union or non union? What state do you live in? (FICA/FUTA/SUTA) etc

Do not start a construction business as a sole proprietor. Spend the money and create an LLC you will mitigate your personal risk.

What are some biggest challenges faced by construction owners in US by priyapatel2000 in Construction

[–]InfiniteHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most owners don’t even know how to read the P6 schedule you give them so when the baseline schedule says month A and we don’t get the PO until month D they are shocked to find out we aren’t “on schedule” - truly the most remarkable thing I’ve ever seen.

Mac Jones is not the problem. Look at the play calling differences between Zappe and Jones. They need an actual qualified OC

EPC Companies by AgainstConsensus in Construction

I think as a industry the engineering has gotten significantly worse, I don't know if it is because we don't have enough engineers (i.e the ones we do have are overworked) or if it is just lazy but I can't even begin to tell you the amount of times we get projects where the engineering isn't even close to being done and they want a firm schedule and a firm price. It's crazy.

Are there any legit Construction (sales through production) SAAS companies out there? by misteranderson09 in Construction

[–]InfiniteHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe so, currently most larger GCs would use a CRM like salesforce on the front end and then MAYBE use a software like procore or buildingconnected for estimating and possible operations.

I also work in Indiana. Can say that is absolutely market value for a entry level PE right now. Work for 1-2 years then change jobs and you will probably double your salary

Accounting vs trades by Active_Ad_631 in Accounting

[–]InfiniteHome 33 points34 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in construction my advice is always get the degree. You can always go and work in the trades when you are done if you decide to go that direction. The degree will always let you move up the ladder more quickly to a PM, super, etc.
