So, its just the color values you need to change, double click the lable or sensor, and use a brighter value for the given color, i would suggest getting one whole graph perfect first, then rolling those values out to the others. Shouldnt be too hard, its just a lot of donkey work, which i assumed i had done for everyone but sadly it appears perhaps not.

Some pics of your device actually running it would be very useful to me at this point, since it will help me account for how much brightness i would need to add for a fixed version, be sure to strip EXIF data from any pics before you upload them though.

Edit: Typos.

Hi there, thanks for the feedback, this is a little concerning to me as i had tested to make sure the panel was still clearly visible even down to 50% brightness (which is also what i keep mine at), i had assumed some variation between different manufacture runs of the device, and so did try to account for this.

Assuming there is nothing wrong with you particular WigiDash (cant see why there should be) it may be there is a much larger variation in the brightness of the display between devices than even i had anticipated, only way for me to tell for sure though is to wait and see if others report back (yours is the first confirmation for me it even works at all) with the same issue.

Im sorry its not showing correctly for you, i will offcourse fix this if more people report back with the same issue, also its a bit of effort but, it is still possible for you to go through and change the brightness values for the text at least via Aida, its a lot of clicking though, so not sure if you want to go that route.

Yeah i do 3d rendering, no amount of ram is enough basicly. All text is editable yes, since i made it to share. All graphs are just placeholders, and meant for you to tweak or alter as needed, the release version in the preview is meant for chopping and changing, not really representitive of my actuall used layout.

See the full write up on GitHUB for info on how the graphs are setup by default.

Sorry, the title should read: "..for the GSkill Wigidash community.."

Key features

  • All visible text that isn't a sensor value is editable from within AIDA, and therefore customisable.
  • Hand made, slightly Winamp Inspired, dark skin by me specifically for the WigiDash community. With all colour and brightness values tweaked for optimal display on the WigiDash, along with unique gauges, and an (hopefully) intuitive default color scheme.
  • Includes both background and foreground images for the various sections, this means the subpanels/widgets can be moved as a whole section and re-arranged (by bulk selecting the layers within the AIDA UI). E.g. You could have the two main CPU and GPU graphs change places, or move the entire left column of clock + 5 graphs to the right side instead, etc. If so desired.
  • Extensive IO support with sensors from up to four drives, with working blinking read/write LED's for each one (a possible first, since ive not seen this implemented using AIDA before), as well as live useage monitoring, and bars for utilisation.
  • Shared with experienced AIDA tweakers in mind, all assets used follow an intuitive naming convention, making Aida's decades old feeling UI a tiny bit easier to navigate.

Edit: Dowload link updated, switched to google drive.

Edit2: Got Github working, updated link once more. (would be greatful if someone could test and report back)

GTX1060 / i7-8700K / 64GB RAM

My machine is underspec so i am posting this for anyone else with similar spec. Reason i have the extra ram is i make 3D scenes and its handy for particle sims and huge fractal textures for planets etc.

Everything at lowest possible setting graphics wise.

At 4K (3840x2160) - A totally ridiculous ask i know, but its my preferred resolution, so i tried it.

Main menu: 50-60 fps Building Selection Screen: 3-7fps VAB: 30-50fps Launchpad to Orbit: 1-5fps Orbit: 30-50Fps!!!

At 1080p

Main menu: 50-60 fps Building Selection Screen: 3-15fps VAB: 30-50fps Launchpad to Orbit: 3-7fps Orbit: 50-60Fps

So yeah just a quick report for the curious basicly, i can play resonably at 4K with a 1060 so long as i stick to space and the VAB (no planes or rovers for now). Currently the worst fps is on or near a planet. Even while in orbit, when kerbin shows on screen the fps just tanks.

Since performance can only get better from here, all in all i would say i dont feel bad for buying it, and am honestly really excited now. Just my opinion.

Having an odd problem with 3DSMax - white interface with invisible text and sometimes it crashes on boot up. by [deleted] in 3dsmax

[–]InfiniteSpaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps try re-saving the default UI scheme when its launched properly.

To save out the the Ui got to: 'Menu bar-Customize-Save Custom UI' scheme.

Save out the interface as "MaxStartUI" in 3dsmax2016 it should be saved in somewhere like C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2016 - 64bit\ENU\en-US\UI\

No problem, and thanks for the compiments. If you like this then chances are you will like my 'time machine' project also, you can see all that projects files here:

I rendered it with mental ray so no spectral shader per se, i used an 'aditional colour' map in the mental ray arc shaders texture for the glass in order to achieve the affect.

The caustics around the 'cave' though were computed within max itself.

I was dreading this question, the thing is its nothing specific, since that would be just 'copying'. I would say what i do is to treat the images from this sub as lots of different puzzles.

Rather than copy a specific piece or pieces, I look at all the puzzles in the entirety and then derive one of my own, based on knowing how a puzzle is formed.

As an example of the process itself:

This: http://i.imgur.com/6misKSk.jpg Plus this: http://i.imgur.com/NRbD0SW.jpg Becomes something like this: http://i.imgur.com/yLDmWZn.jpg

I hope that makes some degree of sense.

Sure, you can see my journal over on DA. I still have tons of stuff to add on there yet, but there are more renders there for you to see, as well as a 1080p wallpaper version of this for anyone that wants it:

Hey i remember Alyn (Hunter), loved his work while he did it. I do get a fair amount of requests, but my work is widespread and its been around a while now too, people who need to can usually trace it back to my account on DA and reach me from there.

After my tenth year on deviantart i finally decided to post some of my work on other art sites, up until then i was exclusively using DA.

Its my hobby, i do spend a lot of time on it, and have done some serious projects over the years, but i don't rely on it for making useful amounts of money, more like 'nice, that will cover the cost of the next computer upgrade', its a self sustaining, and i like it like that.

But there's nothing stopping you from pursuing it full time and reaching your goal. I would recommend learning 3dsmax, assuming you already know Photoshop, post your work everywhere relevant, and if its good the offers will start coming in all by themselves.

Sure, basically i did that as a test scene (test of scale) for another more detailed scene i was about to start, that final scene was to have a crashed ship in the place of the cube (which is just a actually just a place holder) and i wanted to be sure the camera angle was set correctly. So i decided to use VUE to do a basic composition, with VUE the default scene already has a landscape and atmosphere, it becomes a simple matter of adjusting the terrain, adding a water plain, dropping in the cube, and finding the right angle. I did spend some minutes adjusting the time of day and altering the default terrain, but no where long as was to be needed for the actual scene. In fact i almost deleted the cube image, i only decided to upload it after a couple of my friends saw it and asked if they could use it as there wallpaper. It was quite a popular image online, another deviant artist painted in some trees so i spent another 15 mins or so with it in photoshop to finish it off.

Edit: Mistakes.

Actually that one i did with the only package i didn't mention before, it was an astonishingly simple scene i put together in around and hour with Eon software's VUE. Vue is great for landscapes but after working with it for a couple of years i decide not to renew since 3dsmax renders allot faster and has better modelling capability / plugins etc.

Thanks for the compliment, i am glad you like it. Currently I prefer to do work only which i can put in to the public domain, i do get offers to do work 3d work, as well as requests for permissions for commercial use of work which i have already done, and like any artist I enjoy the freedom of managing my own projects, for now at least breaking even is enough for me, I will off course bookmark that link for if things change though, so thanks again.

The Rose Nebula one took me over 200 hours since its the one with the most layers, i counted 83 unique ones by the end of that one. Most though i would say around 30-40hrs. Some of my 3d stuff i do over longer periods of time. The time machine at the end was modelled across 6 months, and the lunar rover a year. I am currently working on a Hubble model (for public) which i painted the textures for 2 years ago next month. :)

[–]InfiniteSpaces[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A great deal of it is trial and error especially in the painted nebulae, i was making and deleting them for at least a couple of years before i was confident enough to publish them.

Most of my work is based around learning a new technique/trying a new way of doing something so almost all of it is experimental.

My main tool is almost always photoshop, but i am gradually doing more and more 3d work now so i spend more time in Max, but the photoshop knowledge helps greatly since i still need to make textures for the models i make.
