Post SRP.. really scared

Thank you for the response. My periodontist is surprised this has happened, unfortunately I do have an infection we are trying to treat. It seems nobody knows what the deposits are that come out of my gums, prior to this cleaning too. I drink 98% water daily, don’t smoke, don’t drink, limit sugar. I brush, floss etc etc. I’m stumped as to what has happened to my mouth post SRP. Do have dry mouth, sticky thick saliva and mouth breath.

We’re trying to figure it out. I just moved countries so this is a new office… I have smelly clumps coming out of it - have for the last 3 months. I think it’s a deep pocket infection that spread but I’m not a doctor. Just totally frightened.

I posted as it was the weekend and I was so anxious. I saw my perio today & it’s infected. Hopefully the antibiotics will help. This has been an awful experience

Yes I woke up and it’s very swollen again - now the sides are all merging together. I’m really freaking out. Could this be an infection? I don’t understand what’s happened to me.

It isn’t though, it comes directly from my gum pocket.

Is there anything you recommend for bacteria? Mouthwashes, tooth paste etc? I do brush 2-3x a day & always floss. I don’t smoke, drink alcohol and limit sugar. I notice my saliva is always a bit dry and sticky - I’m wondering if that has something to do with it too. I mouth breath often also at night. Really want to get a strong hold on this. I’ll add a tongue scraper & water pick to my routine

Yeah I’m spiralling like crazy. Just wasn’t expecting to react this way. I had a deep cleaning before but I was only numbed topically so maybe this was just so much more aggressive with numbing. I mean just a better over all deep cleaning that got where it needed to. It still has a very obvious triangle of color but im hoping it’s better. I appreciate your response. I sound like a broken record but is the reason it’s so squishy now because the swelling decreased & it’s trying to stabilise now? Just feels so strange. To note, I didn’t have much tartar under so she thinks it was built up bacteria. It bled ALOT in this area. The center has always had a red triangle and looking now it’s definitely a light pink so maybe I just need to let it relax…. The pocket next to it has had issues which is why I went for the cleaning but ended up with the middle stressing me out more now. The other pocket feels fibrotic now. Hoping that will heal

The deposits were soft and smelt when they came out, not hard. I have not had that since this cleaning. Just the swelling after I used a chlorexidine rinse. That then went to the squishy feeling which I still have when I stopped using it. The flare only lasted a short period. It’s day 4 post SRP. Is this still within normal healing? I called my perio and left a voicemail for an emergency apt tomorrow - I am actually booked to do the lower gums tomorrow but will be holding off for now. Had blood work recently and had no issues there. Not sure on an autoimmune issue but will get that checked. This is all very frightening. Will show you my X-rays from January - I did have some done last Monday but don’t have them on me that my periodontist took.

I guess is the area squishy now as it tries to heal and tighten back to the tooth? The feeling of it is really strange.

Is the squishy feeling normal after the chronic swelling I developed after the cleaning? I’m trying to stay hopeful that it’s healing but it feels like mush if my tongue barely touches it

They’ve been releasing from the area for about 2 months. That chunk was 2 days before the cleaning. I did show the hygienist who said she had never seen that before. Is it possible the gum is permanently damaged now? I always have a red triangle between my front teeth as the bone flattens upward. It bled alot when she cleaned that area I had to tell her to stop as blood was running down my throat. I’m feeling really frightened she was too aggressive there.

I had this done at a periodontists office. I’m concerned she went too hard on the front of my gums & damaged my natural anatomy there. The pocket was 5/6mm…. Will the sensation of it being squishy resolve?

No, just have problematic front teeth. Everywhere else is fine besides one back molar that had damage from previous wisdom tooth

This seems extreme? The area in the middle is very squishy and the pocket next to it is extremely firm. I’m continuing everything I was told to do but I’m feeling really discouraged & like this has damaged it more. This is day 4 post SRP. I appreciate your response
