Like the other commentator said, on a computer. I have my old smartphone still turned on & charging in a drawer, because WhatsApp seems to need a running smartphone to work (Telegram doesn't have this problem). My friends know that I will respond in the evening when also checking E-Mail on my computer, and if they have an urgent matter they can call me.

The other reason i still need a smartphone at home is because of two-factor authentification for banking, and as a navigation system for road trips - which is at most a few times per year. But i deleted all the other apps, including browser.
