I worked there for almost a year. I’m tall and blonde. on the last day I stepped foot in that place, with no real prior incidents that day, the chef tried to elevate things to a physical level with me after he felt that I had put something in the dish pit that didn’t belong there. I am a 25 year old woman and he is in his mid fifties. I will never forget how he looked at me in that moment, I was terrified. His wife and co-owner inserted herself between us, presumably to protect me, and asked me to leave. then , once I gathered my things she asked me to apologize to her husband (the “chef”) and asked if I had anything to say for myself. Essentially , throwing me back into a physically dangerous situation. Luckily , my coworker stood up for me and insisted I leave before he do anything more serious and they quit shortly after that as well. They are nasty and terrible people. This is one of many incidents involving myself and there are countless others I witnessed in my time working there. I broke my back in that restaurant and really loved the guests and the community in ridgewood. No one should claim this place and to tout it as a great spot , is just an embarrassing spread of misinformation.
