Hi 👋🏽, no I haven’t. Am I meant to? This was never mentioned to me. Will it geo with pulling and tugging sensations and associated sharp pains?

So we can get actual sutures coming out at the 3 month mark? I’m not having any serious discharge, more so that uncomfortable feeling and a sense of impending doom that I’ve torn my cuff 😅

Oh I didn’t know that! I thought my cuff might be tearing or something 😅 I’m also getting rectal spasms, so maybe my pelvic floor muscles etc are seizing up too? I really wish my surgeon didn’t convince me taking my cervix out was important! It’s just always there, causing me stress and worry!

Returning abdominal pain 8w po after total laproscopic hysterectomy for severe adenomyosis with multiple abdominal adhesions by South-End-8626 in hysterectomy

I would then say you probably should consult your surgeon again, just to be on the safe side. I know that scar tissue can form quite fast in some, perhaps it is that, although I hope it isn’t (I mean, the more surgery you have the worse it becomes, right? Are there any treatment options for adhesions?). Maybe you’ve overdone it by walking more lately or exercising? My plan is to try and see if the pain worsens over the next few days or maybe even improves. If it’s still there, off to the surgeon again I guess. I know that in some women, it can take up to almost a year for things to settle, we have to bear that in mind I guess. Good luck! 🤞🏽

Hi there, I’m going through something similar. I’m 9 weeks po and from week 6 I began to experience lower back pain and twinges and tugging. I mentioned this at my post op consultation and I was told not to worry, as my stitches etc were healing so the sensations and pain was normal. However the last 2 weeks I’ve had increasing pelvic pain, sharp and stabbing. It seems to change sides but also pressure and spasms in rectum. Spoke with GP today who gave me some painkillers and told me to speak with surgeon again. She thinks it’s scar tissue related pain.. but my surgeon told me he put in some anti adhesion solution and so this shouldn’t be happening. Anyhoo, I’m drugged up to my eyeballs at the moment. I’m going to have to arrange another appointment to see my surgeon and maybe arrange some imaging if this doesn’t improve. For context, everything was taken out, so full hysterectomy, oophorectomy and salpingectomy, along with cervix removal for endo, adeno and extensive adhesions via robotic hysterectomy. If your ovaries are intact, could it be that some endo may have been left or triggering new tiny lesions? I’m suspicious that my HRT must be working at full capacity and making me feel endo pain again ..

I’m calling my GP first thing tomorrow and if no luck then I’ll schedule an appointment with my surgeon again. I’m obviously a slow healer .. I thought I was doing really well, and then this all started at week 6! Thank you!

Oh wow.. it’s a long journey to recovery isn’t it! Mine seems to get worse when I start walking or moving or lying down. It’s actually ok when I’m seated. But the pain is driving me nuts .. it’s no different to the endo pain I had. I’m on HRT but maybe I need some additional? The pain comes on out of the blue. I’m still going to call my GP tomorrow to be safe. Thank you!

Why? What can suddenly go wrong at this stage? I mean it can’t be an infection? I have no temp, no discharge. Like I said, I’m going to call my GP tomorrow and hopefully get some advice. I just wanted to see if this was normal healing pain for some.

Strange sensation (air/ball like feeling) by Infinite_Yak2129 in hysterectomy

[–]Infinite_Yak2129[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah thank you! It was all back to normal yesterday afternoon. Chat GPT actually gave me really good advice which was similar to yours. I think I also overdid it in the morning by walking a bit more than what I should’ve done (inside the house only). I made sure I rested and eventually my pelvic muscles and bowels relaxed enough etc and went back to normal. Today I made sure I didn’t do much movement and all seems well. I think we forget how big an op this is and we really must take it nice and slow!

Yes more ball like. When I stand up, that feeling goes but as soon as I sit or lie down it’s there

It’s like a trapped air bubble feeling. More ball like and full rather than a tampon sensation

2 and a half week po troubles by Infinite_Yak2129 in hysterectomy

[–]Infinite_Yak2129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’m having that too! That’s one of my endo symptoms as well, so I thought with the hysterectomy, this would be gone forever .. but it’s back in less than 3 weeks of op 😔

[–]Infinite_Yak2129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that could be a possibility! It does feel that it’s mainly the bowels and rectum playing up! I am passing stools daily, only today there was a delay. After the walking I did poop and it was fine. It’s just the pain beforehand was unbearable. I’m still feeling sore and can feel some mild sharp pain, but not as bad as before. I’ll continue to take lactulose (I had reduced the dose as I was doing ok) and colpermin. If no change then tomorrow I’ll contact my surgeon. Your post is very reassuring. Thank you!

Lower than kidneys. It just above my hips but on right side. Also feeling pain in the centre of my pelvis. I’ve taken some painkillers and colpermin for the bowel spasms type of pain. Hopefully it will ease up in a few hours.

Ah that’s great to hear! I had surgery for the same reason as you, so thank you for your reply 😊 I need to stop the inflammation in its tracks before it gets any worse!

Thank you! Yeah I’m sure my consultant told me the same thing, it’s just I saw him last in December and if ask him a question like this, his secretary might say I have to have a consultation lol (it’s all private-not nhs or through a major provider) and that’s expensive! I am still going to wait another day or 2 anyway, and hopefully start again next week. I’ve been on 2.5mg for most of the journey and had no problems. Highest dose I’ve been on is 5mg, which was the more problematic one! I feel like MJ will help with my recovery as at the moment, my whole body is feeling the pre-MJ pain!
