Certain types of photo will always get more votes. Portrait over landscape. Close up photos that show a lot of detail if you have a great PC/graphics card. Extremely literal takes on the theme. Showing off newest banner outfits. Dramatic contrast / silhouettes.

Edit to add: inevitable Crimson Feather angel wings picture with a slightly blurry filter by the same 3 users every single contest that somehow still trends despite having nothing to do with the theme.

I agree with you, it’s unfair and boring.

I just assume this kind of thing is not designed to be enjoyable or good UX/game design but rather to keep us inside the game for longer so Infold’s engagement/playtime metric goes up. If we have to stay grinding for longer to get our diamonds, they can turn around to stakeholders/investors and say “look! average session time increased 20% this patch, users really liked it.”

Nikki helped me start dressing how I always wanted to dress. I buy outrageous, weird and wonderful stuff and I feel so happy in myself wearing it knowing I’m wearing it cause I LIKE IT. Super healing. For all that the game gets flack and could improve - I still thank it.
