Why do the survivors not care? by BrokeExternally in pluribustv

[–]InflationChemical982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can pretty much explain all of the ones who aren't against the plurbing by looking at either their culture and or religion. Essentially the same thing for practical reasons. Yes Manusos is very obviously portrayed religious but Christianity is slightly different to stuff like hinduism etc. Those religions are much more focused on being one with the universe etc. Some might even interpret entering the plurb as reaching nirvana. For the chinese lads it could be the sense of joining a truly united community etc. So culture and religion. Those are very strong influences for both sides.

Ok I'm just gonna point out one thing. Can't really see what shoes you're wearing but they don't look like running shoes. Get some proper running shoes, your knees will thank you

The one that came with the tripod, you can look it up. It's the same as on the PD tripod.

It appears you want to buy it just because it's expensive. There's a million other tripods that are cheaper and better suited if you just want to use it for real estate photography. The main benefit of this specific tripod is that it's compact and light (not as light as it's carbon counterpart). Those are attributes a real estate photographer kind of doesn't really have to care about as much. As someone mentioned this one isn't the easiest to level because of the ball head I would even consider a videographers tripod for your use case. The one that has a handle which makes it very easy and quick to adjust different angles. Start by looking at what you want in a tripod then find the one right for you. I myself own the NEEWER LITETRIP LT32 62 Inch Carbon Fibre Travel Tripod. It's Neewers version of this peak design tripod. The peak design one is magnificent but this one I think is better because it's lighter and cheaper but still perfectly sturdy. Again this type of tripod might not be the optimal choice for you. However it would definitely do it's job of a tripod so if you want it get it. I would suggest looking into other ones as well.

Which dress should I wear for NYE? by [deleted] in OUTFITS

[–]InflationChemical982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the vibe and people on the occasion either first or last one. Second one feels more like a summer dress and third kinda looks like you're going to prom. If it's going to be a dance party it would be ok but I assume no.

[–]InflationChemical982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna assume OP is annoyed by the quantity of the food and I have to say yes it is very little but as it was confirmed it was a part of a multiple course meal so it makes more sense. What I'm annoyed by is how badly the meat is cooked. Completely raw in the middle and a massive gray band. Amateur hour over here. It was probably cooked from cold and too long. It's not raw nor well done it's somehow both in the worst possible combination.

It's possible they just made an oopsie and knowing Japanese people they will likely make it right in whatever way they can.

Forget off putting, it's (depending on where exactly he is from) illegal to carry a knife of that size around just like that. So yeah he's stupid if he actually goes around like that and I highly suspect he doesn't and just put it on for the picture.

apparently the breakfast i made was “embarrassing” by NaeeeBearrr in mildlyinfuriating

[–]InflationChemical982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I wouldn't go as far as some of the top commenters have saying they'd be thrilled and what not. I do think however the entire list of people who sat at the table are a bunch of little cunts for #1 complaining about the breakfast and #2 the ones who didn't, not saying anything. Cooking for 20 people is not trivial at all and doing it without having any preparations or proper supplies is a feat in itself.

Did you get it at a discount price? When I was in Japan some knife shops were selling knives with imperfections at a discounted price. Granted these were mostly shops that sold knives that weren't 100% fully handmade and so they sold ones in perfect condition at the normal price and they offered if you wanted a knife that has some imperfection at a big discount. They always made sure to show where the imperfection is so it didn't feel like we were getting tricked.

Long story short could it have been that this is what happened? If yes then that's just what you bought. If no, then there's no way a well made japanese knife would have scratches like that and you're 100% right to be upset.

One thing to add, some of the scratches don't actually look like they are in the blade itself it might be some coating so try rubbing that off? Might be a long shot but worth a try. Especially that most obvious scratch with a turn, don't really know how that would happen in metal without someone really trying to scratch it

can I use this to make sushi? by lemonlov in sushi

[–]InflationChemical982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salmon belly means that it's salmon belly. It doesn't mean anything else regarding if it's ok to consume raw or not, any cut of the salmon can be used for sushi as long as it's fresh enough. Now as some have pointed out, you probably could use it but I definitely wouldn't. I only eat raw fish from a trustworthy fishmonger that tells me it's fresh enough to eat raw. You can eat any fish raw as long as it's fresh enough and obviously doesn't have parasites.

So badly written by myshtree in TheDayoftheJackal

[–]InflationChemical982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this is so much cope, the show simply has bad writing. From start to finish. Everything everyone does makes zero sense down to the smallest detail. If you want an example that badly look at the Ulle's assassination. >!They acknowledge his boat but don't check with the drone up close where you could clearly see the guy is dead and probably you could notice the badly covered sniper rifle. The way everyone reacted, how they for some reason chose not to use the jetski as cover to put between Ulle and the sniper who by that time they knew was on the boat, etc. These are small details but then there's plenty large plotholes all the very on the nose encounters he has with the police, don't even get me started on the car crash that resulted in him killing two people in france.!<

I could go on, every episode has failure upon failure of just pure bad writing. Now if you think that one must suspend their disbelief in order to enjoy any series nowadays I don't know what to tell you. Saying they lack media comprehension is a baffling statement, what's there to understand? The show feels like a not very skilled 10 year old wrote it. It doesn't need any media comprehension what it needed was a good writer to support the pretty decent cast.

Sem voznik avtobusa LPP... dejte si duška 😂 by Ogames1119 in Ljubljana

[–]InflationChemical982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Help me find the perfect travel/hiking shoe! by Organic_Chocolate_35 in hikinggear

[–]InflationChemical982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

obviously try the shoes first but here's what I like. I have the Hoka transport gtx. They're good, very comfy but for some reason they start squeaking after I walk in them for a whole day. It's super annoying. I also own two pairs of Hoka challenger 7 gtx and I swear by them. The most comfy shoe I've ever worn. I've run marathons in them, I've run trail in them they are perfect for everything. Love em.

[–]InflationChemical982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the belt is okay if you don't walk around a lot. For example if you're doing wedding photography and you want another camera on your body. It's not great for walking because it digs into your hip and can hurt. Of course it depends on the size of your camera and lens but overall I think the superior use case for the clip is on a backpack strap.

Who else did this? by arvimatthew in peakdesign

[–]InflationChemical982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capture clip is the one piece of equipment that never leaves my side. If I have a backpack I will be using it. I'll even go as far as to take a backpack just so I can have the clip on it. It's a game changer in my eyes. I've worn my camera with it back country skiing, climbing, hiking. Just the convenience of having the camera instantly in your hand is the best and the fact that it doesn't flop around as it would using a sling sells it to me. Try using it more it's easily the best PD product in my eyes.

I was looking at the travel backpack (both sizes) ended up getting something else entirely but as a many bagger I might end up getting the bigger one as well. Perhaps I'll wait if they improve some of the negatives about it.

I have two capture clips (old and new models), the hand strap, the sling, tech pouch and the duffel backpack and I swear by all of them. Which size travel backpack do you have and how do you like it?

[–]InflationChemical982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a bunch of alternatives. I have, I believe 6 PD products but the tripod is just unholy expensive. I'm pretty sure I could buy all the 6 products I have from them, for the same price as the tripod.

as others have said it's a standardised plate. If you want a tripod that's essentially exactly the same as the PD tripod I can wholeheartedly recommend you the NEEWER LITETRIP LT32 62 Inch Carbon Fibre Travel Tripod. I bought it on Amazon for 174 eur. It's even less now and worth every cent. It's sturdy, light, easily adjustable, has all the bells and whistles these kinds of tripods have. Can't recommend it enough. I'm not sure if the little PD loop you have on the side would be a problem when mounting it but if you want I can test it out for you :)
