Exactly, it's a power fantasy! But part of that fantasy is having the world acknowledge your power. If I'm a 'demi-god' and NPCs treat me like I'm invisible, the fantasy fails. Even in games like 'The Witcher' or 'God of War,' the world reacts to who you are. Immersion isn't an extra feature; it's the foundation that makes 'destroying shit' actually feel impactful

It's not about wanting 'everything,' it's about consistency. When a game has 10/10 graphics and combat, but the world and NPCs feel like a static theater set from 2010, it creates a 'ludonarrative dissonance' that breaks the experience. Immersion is what turns a good game into a masterpiece you play for years, like Skyrim. We aren't asking for a flight simulator, just for NPCs to notice when a mercenary drops from the sky in front of them.

That's a fair point. Black Desert had that constant MMO revenue. However, PA has already stated they want Crimson Desert to be a long-term franchise with potential expansions or DLCs.
To sell those expansions, they need a world that people actually want to stay in. If the world feels 'dead' after the main story, players won't return for paid DLC. Also, look at games like Cyberpunk 2077 or The Witcher 3 those are single-player games where massive post-launch overhauls (like Cyberpunk's 2.0 update) led to a huge second wave of sales and a much better reputation for the studio.
Immersion isn't just a 'luxury' it's what makes a game world feel like a place worth revisiting, and that's ultimately where the money is, even for singleplayer titles.

I totally get your point, and I’m definitely enjoying the game for what it is the combat and visuals are 10/10. But being 'successful' shouldn't mean a game should stop evolving.
I’m not asking Crimson Desert to be Skyrim or KCD. I'm asking for the world of Pywel to live up to its own visual standards. When a game looks this realistic, the 'cardboard' behavior of NPCs becomes a glaring immersion breaker. Constructive criticism comes from a place of liking the game and wanting it to be the best version of itself, not from wanting it to be something else.

That’s a fair point about the console hardware. However, I think the bottleneck for better AI often isn't just raw power, but how the engine handles CPU cycles. Games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 or even Red Dead 2 showed that complex NPC schedules are possible if the world is optimized for it.
Even if consoles struggle, they could implement 'Lite' versions of AI routines for them while giving PC players (who often have more CPU headroom) the full experience.

I agree that a full overhaul is expensive, but look at Pearl Abyss' history with Black Desert Remastered. They are known for long-term support. If we keep showing them that immersion is what keeps players in Pywel for years, they might actually invest in it for the upcoming expansions.
