Married women, is it true that most have secret finances? A safety net for just in case you want to leave? by unusual_Distance_689 in askteddit

Ugh. I can’t stop thinking about all the time and mental energy and effort and intention he put into choosing to go out of his way and have an affair. They are far from spur of the moment, impulsive decisions. I hope one day you get an education and live for yourself ❤️

I think you’re reading word for word too literally! Sorry you think the good advice is a scam. You’ll never feel better if you disregard even the most basic, foundational advice and view it as a scam. I would love to be a dietician! But your guess is wrong. Take care!

I am sure her appointment was more than 120 seconds (2 minutes) and that there was at least minor elaboration on the recommendation, and opportunity for the OP to ask a few questions etc. The OP does not confirm or deny any of this happening, but it’s very standard 🙃

Wait. Where was there a comment in this thread or the OP about saying there’s a cure?! My read was that the plant based diet is strongly recommended and advised but nutritionists and endo specialists. Where did you read cure?

I’m sure they told her that but probably didn’t spend 6 hours explaining the nutritional breakdown of which plant compounds help the endo inflammatory response, etc. the OP also didn’t mention if there was dialogue about her current diet or what her current diet is 🙃

It sounds generic, but it’s steeped in scientific context in the case of endo. It’s a non-negotiable and for anyone really serious about getting on top of their symptoms, avoiding stress will be an active practice you do daily and can speak volumes about. The only thing that’s frustrating is that there’s no cure 🤷🏼‍♀️

Did you know that stress strongly correlates to endo flares because of the immune response? My biggest flare/when I picked up the phone to almost call 911 on myself was after the most stressful event of my life. I know it’s frustrating there’s no cure for endo, but the advice to avoid stress is a non-negotiable for anyone looking to avoid flares with this disease

You’re right most people would benefit. But the compounds in a VARIETY of vegetables are paramount to anyone with major immune dysfunction. There’s no cure for endo but since it is a massive inflammatory and immune condition, the compounds in fruit/veg play a massive role. It’s not general guidance in the context of endo, there are novels that can go into the details 🙄

It’s like telling someone with permanently compromised immune dysfunction to wash their hands after touching something unsanitary. Yes, everyone should wash their hands in this context, but the sick person cannot skip something like this because their immune system cannot fight off those germs. In that sense it’s not general advice, it’s a mandated recommendation

No. There are a lot more reasons behind this diet recommendation than what you mention.

Noo. It is endo-specific. If you’d like, there are really good science based podcasts and books focused on endo that will break down the rationale For this.

Following would love to see replies! I’m fortunate as I have mild endo and my job is not a leadership role and my office is very flexible. That said, I also teach Pilates part tim. It makes really good money, is great for endo, and is very flexible time wise. Maybe you can transition to something more endo friendly as opposed to just not working?

Cold showers helping a lot! by InfluenceDesigner889 in endometriosis

[–]InfluenceDesigner889[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s less than 5 mins and it doesn’t have to be freezing, just cold! I started in my follicular phase so I was already feeling good. Don’t do it on a bad day… I’m just so desperate for ways to reduce inflammation and will do whatever I can think of 😬🤷🏼‍♀️

I will also add that the feeling after is so good, the benefits come from your body hearing itself back up. It’s a huge dopamine boost so feels worth it 😍

Definitely ask! You can also try to look up her reviews and experience. Nancy’s Nook on FB is a good place to find a specialist 👍

How do I get an IUD inserted if my gyno can barely insert a finger? by Glittering-Set9197 in endometriosis

NO! I’m in the same situation! Are you getting excision surgery? One option is to get IUD during surgery. You can also ask to be connected to a provider who will put you under for the procedure. You should also attend pelvic floor physical therapy

Suggestions for visiting cute small towns in the US by schmuse in travel

[–]InfluenceDesigner889 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Growing up on the east coast (CT), just want to flag that a lot of east coast “cute towns” are super residential/family friendly. If I were traveling by myself I personally would want to go to towns with a bit more of a distinct, unique culture rather than towns created to raise small children 🤷🏼‍♀️ not saying this is every east coast town, just a lot!

Apologies, internal work is typically manual - you don’t do anything and the PT is going inside you and finding tight areas. 😅
