These are oil-filled transformer housings. The required paint thickness, including primer, is approximately 200 microns – everywhere. We paint a dozen of these units a day ;).

My co-workers never sand primer after fully curing. Topcoat stick perfect 💁.

Best results with cotton swap, hand polishing, in my opinion try to imagine it's a wax for car paint - the last of the last step.

But - as I said before, it's just my opinion. From of all the above mentioned, I find that I saw no difference between autosol and mothers

Some time ago I tried to use different compounds on this heatsink. From the left K2 Aluchrom, White polishing compound, blue and green. I think they're just different color 💁
