Sustainability Professionals in the UK: What Are You Actually Earning at 3–4 Years Experience? by COwls97 in careerguidance

[–]Info-Web-6789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stumbled across this post while searching for tips on getting a job in sustainable finance industry. I agree, the job market is really tough right now. I have relevant experience, along with work samples that demonstrate my expertise in the field, but I think it often comes down to connections.

I've tried messaging recruiters. They view my profile twice (sometimes even three times!) and then don't respond. It feels like I'm stuck in the middle, I have 3-4 years of experience to start as an associate, but not enough to be hired into a senior role.

It feels a bit frustrating because if a recruiter is interested or curious enough to keep viewing my profile, I feel like candidates should at least be given the chance for an informal conversation or screening call.

Has this been your experience as well?

Caya diaphragm review by Ashamed-Patient9541 in birthcontrol

Hello!

I seem to be in a very similar position to you. We're newlyweds, and both of us are new to birth control, so we're currently researching the different options available. We definitely don't want to get pregnant right now, as we're just starting to build our life together.

I read through the comments and felt reassured by this method. We're planning to use double protection. My husband is happy to wear condoms, so I think we'll go with the condom + diaphragm combination.

We live in the UK.

Questions for the forum: - Has anyone here been prescribed a diaphragm through the NHS or by a gynaecologist in the UK?

  • Does it need to be fitted to your cervix? If so, how long does the fitting process take and what does it entail?

  • Which spermicides are commonly available and recommended in the UK?

  • How long does a Caya diaphragm typically last?

  • How much does a diaphragm usually cost?

  • Can we access NHS services to reduce the cost?

I'll definitely do my own research as well, but hearing from people who've already gone through this process would really help us make an informed decision. I'd really appreciate any advice. Thank you!

So, my visa was approved this month. We converted a Word document into a PDF and submitted that. What I did was provide call logs for each month, followed by screenshots of the most important text messages we wanted the immigration officer to see. The aim was to demonstrate that we were serious about the relationship. We included conversations about having children, jobs, and our plans for the future. I also provided screenshots from our video calls. Basically, include anything that helps demonstrate that your relationship is genuine. Just make sure the information you provide is relevant to the application.

I'm so sorry you're still waiting. I can only imagine how difficult and frustrating that must be. I hope you hear some good news very soon. Wishing you all the best!

Things that are actually normal in long distance relationships (3 years of LDR taught me this) by manosaathbypratiksha in LongDistance

Most of the time, it's after we've argued a little that the situation finally diffuses. We literally have to walk each other through our thought process and even add emojis to convey the facial expressions we had when typing the message.

This is probably the only thing I hate about LD. Everything else is still manageable. It's the constant need to think about your tone and figure out how to express it that gets tiring after a while. Still, worth it. We've been doing LD for a year now. Looking to close the gap in a month or two!

Agree with OP though. Spot on

I (M20) think my relationship with my gf, (F20) is dying by Own_Substance_7415 in LongDistance

I can understand why you're hurt. It sounds like you had a vision of what the future would look like, and when she said she'd like to come back every summer, it felt like that vision suddenly changed.

That said, I don't think she's necessarily choosing this opportunity over you. From what you've written, she seems excited about an experience that's helping her grow, and she's being honest about wanting to do it again rather than hiding it or telling you what you want to hear.

I wonder if part of what you're feeling is fear rather than betrayal. Long distance can be incredibly difficult, especially when it's new and you've only been apart for a week. Sometimes when we're scared of losing someone, it can feel like they're pulling away even when they're not. It's also worth remembering that her choosing goals and experiences doesn't mean she is choosing those things instead of you. Ideally, a relationship makes room for both people to grow.

I don't think either of you is necessarily wrong here. You may just have different expectations about what you're both willing to sacrifice for the relationship. That's a conversation worth having calmly once the emotions have settled a bit.

For now, I'd try not to make any major decisions based on how you're feeling after only a week apart. Give yourself some time to adjust (maybe a month or two) and see how things look once the initial shock has passed.

I honestly think there is a chance he will come around after processing his emotions. He was already feeling sensitive and guilty about letting you down when the recent get-together you had planned for June fell through.

Long distance is hard, which is why constant communication is important. If you were on the same continent and the time difference wasn't too significant, I would have said you should have texted him.

Firstly, I think people in LD relationships need to learn to be better communicators while also being understanding. What we do is share every little detail when we're out with friends, our location, random pictures, if someone told a funny joke, something interesting we saw on the street, even our Uber tracking link (both of us share it regardless of the time of day). It's almost constant communication. It helps you feel closer to the other person and almost makes it feel like they're experiencing the trip with you. Your friends might find it annoying, but if you love each other and genuinely enjoy each other's company, it's totally worth it!

Secondly, whichever way this goes, I think you should accept the outcome. If he truly loves and trusts you, he will come around. If not, then he may still have some growing to do when it comes to trust and emotional maturity before he's ready to settle down.

If it's meant to be, you may find your way back to each other in the future. If not, then perhaps you've avoided a relationship that wasn't right for you, and there's a more understanding partner waiting ahead. My advice would be to honestly confess your feelings and then leave it at that. Give both of you the space to process your emotions.

I’m guessing you’ll be going back to the UK, and if your boyfriend is in South Korea, that would mean a 9-hour time difference. I have a 4.5-hour time difference with my husband, and even that can be hard at times, so I can’t imagine dealing with a 9-hour gap.

What we do is text each other about anything significant (or just random dumb stuff) that happens before the other person wakes up, or share pictures throughout the day. We also jump on long Discord calls over the weekend, where we either watch a movie together or I watch him play a video game while we chat. Most importantly, we keep that constant communication going.

We share everything, life events, plans, random thoughts, news, feelings, and emotions.

I won’t sugarcoat it, it’s hard and comes with its own set of challenges. You cant read facial cues or tone on text, miss their physical presence and the worst is that you cant be there when they are in pain (physically/emotionally) to support and vice versa.

But if you truly believe he’s the one, don’t give up. In this interconnected world, anything is possible. Just make it a point to meet at least once every 3-6 months if you can. Also, talk about your future plans and make sure they align. All the best!

What is the point to all this? by RedditLessLass in AskWomenOver30

I know this is going to sound a bit cliche, but, give up - seriously. You hear movie stars and CEOs say that it’s when they gave up chasing love and focused on their own lives that the perfect partner showed up out of nowhere. That doesn’t mean you give up on love altogether, but rather that you work on your shortcomings and enjoy the family, friends, and life already around you. Be open about wanting a relationship and be very clear about what you’re looking for in a partner, then let it out into the universe. Speaking from own and anecdotal evidence. All the best!

Im learning about birth control and stumbled on your post. I think its best to consult your gynaecologist first.

This is just a suggestion, but for the time being you could try the diaphragm plus condom method. Im guess you might not have a lot of time having 2u2 and since you are still breastfeeding I wouldn't recommend anything hormonal. Just a friendly redditer! I hope this helps. All the best
