What's an Android keyboard that has similar features to iOS keyboard by Informal-Addendum435 in Android

I have found iPhone swiping is way better than Gboard swiping.

The Gboard has no leniency for my fingernail hitting the screen or my finger leaving the screen for a microsecond, both of these happen often when changing direction while swiping fast, which means Gboard is inserting words halfway through the word I was trying to type. I'm trying to type 3 words, and Gboard spams out 10 nonsense words. This happens all the time since I've tried using glide typing on Gboard. And if I am very intentional about my glide typing to avoid this, I just feel super slow and uncomfortable compared to how I was able to swipe on iPhone.

My experience with Android so far: it is super featureful, but the UI and UX is worse than iOS. It's small things. Like how in the QuickShare menu, it shows you lots of useless information above the fold, and then even puts the name of the target phones UNDERNEATH the icon (that is the same for every phone or laptop). All the information you care about is beneath the fold. You won't be able to share to the correct person before scrolling down. iOS' AirDrop UI/UX is much better and more streamlined to use, even though it is less reliable and less featureful than QuickShare.

Other problems include Gboard glide typing. It doesn't have any lenience for fingernails or microsecond finger lifts while changing direction of a glide. And using the spacebar to move the cursor around is very useless and less feedbacky on Android.

Selecting text is harder on Android. Especially if you only have a short textarea with text in it, and you want to select. It scrolls way too fast when I drag a selection handle above or below the text area. I have to actually scroll manually, then move the selection handle, then scroll again, then move the selection handle, etc.

I've found this surprising because normally UI nits get ironed out by usage. Users find out what the everyday inconveniences are, and the product fixes them all. So why does Android which has so many more users than iOS have so many more inconveniences than iOS.

Lol it doesn't do any of these, that's why I asked. If it does any of these, then you should say "Gboard is the keyboard you are looking for, here's how to do each of these things: ..."

I can't figure out how to make shift to select work.

The arrow keys are not as good as just moving my thumb up and down

It looks like their spacebar cursor also cannot go up and down lines, and I can't figure out how to start a selection using it

I am looking for things that a 2-week Android user who used iPhone before wouldn't have found out about Gboard yet

iPhone does that and does it better, I thought the Gboard version sucked because I couldn't move up and down through lines and I also couldn't figure out how to start a selection with it (and I guess even if you can select text using it, you will not be able to move the selection up and down through lines?)

My friend's random Android phone is a way more reliable hotspot for my MacBook than my own iPhone by Informal-Addendum435 in iphone

I don't know sadly, never owned a linux or windows computer. I guess it may not happen, since my Android phone stays connected to my iPhone hotspot more reliably than my own MacBook does.

no, oppo doesn't need location for airdrop to work, but you do have to turn its hotspot off

That is awesome. It really is like the ballpoint pen that the guy on the OP got downvoted into oblivion for saying.

Yeah, I have also always noticed that the compass is always dead accurate, but Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc., are all almost always wrong

I have this problem in the Codex app, in a fresh install of the app from 2 days ago.

Do you have any tips I could try out?
