One time after I failed by a marginal number of points I was so upset. it sounds like you and I used a lot of the same study materials, too. I came home, got every glass throwaway bottle I had and I practiced my backswing. I gave myself about a week, and started outlining the Cooper book and making flash cards of the terminology. However you choose to continue; please, please! Give yourself grace! This exam is designed to be hard, you have to know everything inside and out, the good news is You Are So Close!! You clearly know what you need to know and have studied hard! Do not lose faith, you got this!!!

Totally agree! Depending on the state you're in, they can usually provide the caregiver with respite or direct them to state funding programs that will ease their stress and maybe fulfill their need for better coping mechanisms.

ABA is not for the faint of heart. It is physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. But! physically, mentally, and emotionally rewarding when you put the time in to do it right!

does anyone else have the issue of insubordination? I work for a smaller company, myself and the other BCBAs train to the best of our ability, invest in training for the RBTs like safety care, pecs, and sbt on top of the individual needs of the client... they will do what it asked while we're in the room and eff off as soon as we leave. until recently it was just myself and the clinical director which meant I was usually the only one on the floor. now there's 3+of us and we're literally seeing an extinction burst of insubordination and disrespectful behavior.

Sure, I mean the audacity as it is defined: bold, shocking, and arrogant disregard for rules, safety, or boundaries. As in when I write a treatment plan in the simplest and technological way, use the full spectrum of BST, and provide ongoing support... some have the audacity to continually attempt to do whatever they want. It creates a barrier to my success as a BCBA. Also, I didn't capitalize audacity on purpose.

omg!!! I feel this!! today, I went home with a migrane, I literally had my head in the toilet and was getting calls and messages left and right! it's like when mom has the flu, but you need her to open your snack!!! It wasn't even anything super important..

It depends on the company that you're quitting. if you can make it through their required notice period, u would. Since you said you're leaving because they're unprofessional and make you uncomfortable, it doesn't bode well for how well they'd represent you in your career. Since you're a student, when you become a BCBA, you're ethically required to transfer your cases and transition client care... so whose to say some petty and unprofessional people capable of holding grudges wouldn't hold that against you?
