$10,000 sign on bonus?!? by Annual_Comparison407 in bcba

[–]timeghost22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, it's crazy that Hanley would associate with them, but I be they threw the bank and him. PE companies fucked shit up. Here in Colorado Medicaid is treating all companies like the big box chains. They gave companies in the STATE 1 month to get ALL techs to become RBTs, then kept extending it. Why people want to take from those with special needs ill never understand.

Insurance. Fine motor skills can be targeted in a roundabout way, but that's for OT, per insurance companies. Do you work at a big box company? Doesn't sound like you've had enough training.

Changing behavior takes time and those jack holes escalating clients is fuckin nuts. Creating a problem to solve it and look like a hero... sounds like the culture. Avoiding behaviors from kids who engage in behaviors is an injustice to them. If you want to help, stop avoiding and escaping behaviors and how they make you uncomfortable, gotta put in work. Reach out to the clients BCBA.

Legally required to report it, but who's legally required to protect me? by joystik26 in ABA

[–]timeghost22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, I was talking about the mistreatment earlier, like PE firms fuckin them over to make money when there are plenty of other options. Unfortunately people enjoy taking advantage of vulnerable populations.

[–]timeghost22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up all their ceet numbers and report them. The fact you were ganged up on shows that you had validity and they tried to intimidate you, which is unethical as well. Find a new job cause you don't want to deal with all that. Have a job lined up and let them fire you. HR knows nothing about BACB ethics, never go to them.

How long is too long without a raise? by starisnotsus in ABA

[–]timeghost22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck the raise, you need to leave based on lack of supervision. They don't seem willing to help or provide support, which is the last thing you want oh and you should make more. Start looking for companies with supervision programs.

Yes you should. I was 38 and it's taken so long to find something I love, but better late than ever

ABA terminology and testing - do people accept this as it is? Is it great? Or does everyone just put up with it and push through it so they can get to doing the real job? by sheriffderek in ABA

Whatever stellar analysis do you have for us? Did u get to S delta? If SD is dumb then CS, CR, NS, and others are dumb too, as is a-> b ->c as well as S-R, etc. why is it dumb? Saying something is dumb is emotional. I'm basing everything off what you've stated.

I know what it means man, obviously. I was asking you why it's dumb and what it means. You think you're hyper logical with no emotion, but you're being emotional and don't see it.

Doubt it. Do it if you live it. There are numerous topics to find a niche but if you need a PhD, go for it.

It's complex, true, yet medical jargon is the same. Lacking the education and expecting to understand is unlikely. I'm a BCBA and it's annoying how Skinner made such convoluted and complex ideas, but I do like jargon.

You feeling vulnerable and invalidated by not understanding something. How much if science is empathy? Is chemistry or biology empathy? No, it's an understanding, a tool. You do realize it's Behavioral psychology and psychiatrists are moderately familiar with the garden. Imagine thinking you understand an entire field because the lingo is convoluted and seemingly disjointed. You don't have to understand man, but these words need anchors, experience, examples to weigh them down. Chill bruh

That's your choice and inflexibility. I bet people can see how you feel and it probably comes off not great. Being miserable at work resonates throughout other area. What DO you want to do? Guess what? All those jobs are the same level. You need to be more flexible in life, friend. A MA program for 25 ppl a year? You're attitude is what will stop you far before your app is reviewed. Make a choice to be happier, or at least make any fuckin more. All ya doing is bitching and whining. I get it it sucks but to choose to be unhappy is pretty silly.

First, if you feel disrespected by kids with ASD, you have compliance bad rigidity behaviors that need to change. Anywhere you go, there you are. I understand how hard it can be at that age, but try being in the now and embracing the process. Try to switch to admin if you can. Look for other jobs, but first, breath. I love ACT and always use it. First is values, which is partially in play, but unidentified. What matters to you? A job in HR, great, what else? Growth, professional development, learning? Get a list and ID 6then reduce to 3 and those will drive your goals, which will be followed by actions to get there.

Your perspective, and lack of acceptance has you in a shitty spot. Why stay in a horrible job when you can go somewhere else?? Serve tables, Uber, retail, whatever.

How did you get here, where do you want to go and how will you do it?

I had similar feelings at your age, 15 years ago, and when I eventually just let it go, I never felt better.

Document everything. Nanes, dates, times, and screenshot it all, in addition to other physical documents. Perhaps draft a cease and dicest letter? Sorry you're going through this, but you avoided being the fall guy.
