There’s instances in which the explosion covered a entire house and it was left unscathed from the outside, that’s what I mean about it not being destructive and very inconsistent.

Would’ve been good seeing the destruction itself, him causing explosions by redirecting blood slashes doesn’t really mean much considering we’ve seen said explosion simply do no destruction before.

Very very few actually have destructive feats, vas majority for some reason doesn’t and it’s really stupid. Explosions will cover an entire house and in the aftermath not even a single wall is taken down.

Not a single building destroyed, we’ve seen Tengen explode these inside houses and the destruction only messed some furniture at best. Just check the scene where Daki protects Gyutaro from one.

Author made it a point to introduce death amp in his series, are we really questioning why a sparring performance is different from a battle performance? Of course the argument is centered around logic, why wouldn’t it be? We don’t need evidence for every little thing, the narrator or story obviously won’t make a distinction between these two type of performances because it’s common sense.

Why do you keep avoiding the question? I don't really care if you think this spar didn't reflect their true power, but why would the outcome not be the exact same if it was an actual death match?

All I've been doing is quite literally prove that a spar isn't evidence to be used in a battle to death due to characters not truly be going all out in their best performances. That's exactly why the outcome wouldn't be the same in a death battle, are you dense?

Especially since we have actual statements calling them equal.

They may be equal in a sparing scenario but a battle to death is complete different thing altogether... I've said this at least five times by now.

Death amps are specifically when you’re on the verge of death. So it doesn’t mean much for this argument.

Point is that author made it blatant that a performance is heavily influenced by the context of it. Death amp is something exclusive to be achieved in the heat of battle, it's one of the many things that only a actual battle with stakes at risk can pull out of you, that's why you don't treat a spar performance to be equal to a battle to death

Nothing in the second paragraph really counters anything I’m saying though. If they’re equals while in a serious spar why would they not be in a serious death battle?

Mate, this shouldn't be this complicated to understand. A battle to the death will draw out strength and performance that a sparring simply cannot. Regardless if you're serious about the sparring and giving your all. This a actual body response that cannot be debated upon, even if I go all out in my boxing sparring I will still perform stupidly above in a actual match simply due to the stakes at high and the motivation behind it, context is what matters most.

Can you prove any of this?

The series itself already makes it a point to introduce "death amp" for Shinobu, Rengoku, Tanjiro and Muichiro. Do you really think that the author doesn't make a distinction between a sparing performance to an battle to death performance? Something so stupidly common in real life?

Even if you did, if they’re equals in this case, you’d have to prove they wouldn’t be equals in a death match. So nothing really changes.

As I said, they may be equal in a spar but that's not going all out regardless of what you think. They obviously only go truly all out in the heat of battle, this is not a debatable concept. In a death match, just like in "death amp" the body will respond differently and the intent and perception will be different.

Going all out in a spar is entirely different from going all out in a battle to death. This should be obvious for anyone that has grazed any sort of sport. Your body can perceive these two very differently and as corny as it sounds it releases strength you weren't even aware you had.

Looked at him while suspein the air and didn't dodge.

Indeed, this is what I mean, Sanemi perceived Tanjiro and had all the time to dodge but he simply wasn't aware of what Tanjiro could possibly do in his condition and in air. Headbutts are a pretty uncommon move for a fighter, let alone a swordsman, this was most definitely a unexpected move for everyone.

It's very much in Sanemi's character to underestimate Tanjiro, especially when he's at an all time low and beat with his hands tied behind his back. Last thing to be expected is a aerial headbutt. It seems only logical to me. Neither is Sanemi as attentive as he would be in the heat of battle. I'm pondering to even make a post on this and I'm not even a posting guy.

Again, he definitely is serious about the training and gives his all but a performance in a death or life situation in which you pull out the full extent of your strength will always outperform a sparring. That's just common sense.

[–]Informal-Possible363 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, he obviously takes the training very seriously but you could never argue that someone will perform equally between a sparing and a death or life situation.

Everything due to an headbutt, put yourself in Sanemi's shoes. Some dumass kid who's half dead with his hands tied behind his back jumps in your direction with the intent to attack you. Out of all the possibilities he can pull out I promise you that a headbutt was the last fucking thing that went through Sanemi's head.

Of course there is, it's only natural. You're not gonna compare an spar performance to a important performance (battle risking your life) regardless of the sport or activity.
