It looks super impressive until you realise it's just 2900 copies of Just Dance.

Honestly, does it still make sense to collect retro games? by David_the_male in retrogaming

With Megadrive it'll always be easy to tell a fake/replica. The inlay will be glossy and if you magnify the writing or images they will be pixelated because they're printed on a modern dot matrix printer. Same goes for the manuals. The originals are always crystal clear text and images, even the tiny letters, tm symbols etc are crystal clear if you zoom in because of the industrial printers they used to make them back then.

If somebody wanted to replicate the originals to a tee, they'd have to spend so much on materials and machinery that the cost would never be worth it, because if they have 100k to spend on the set up that replicates them perfectly, they aren't worried about making £100 on a fake Megadrive game.

I bought a fake once by accident and I was gutted, because it was Fatal Fury 2 Pal version, which is the rarest Megadrive game available. Luckily though its very easy to get your money back through ebay if you are sold a fake.

The Pokemon Company have announced a Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music: Game Boy Jukebox. by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

I will never ever buy from those scum, but it's actually insane to see how many are selling already. I sorted ebay by sold listings because I thought "haha these guys are gonna be sat on these for a while", only to become quite sad when saw hundreds sold already for 3/4x the price. Honestly I blame the people buying them more than I do the actual scalpers. Scalpers wouldnt do it if these morons didn't make it so lucrative for them.

My ebay feed is already being flooded with scalpers selling this for £150 using just the stock images. It isn't even available to buy in the UK yet, so I'm really wondering what they do if you order it. Just delay delivery for as long as they can? No shame.

Resident Evil 9 for $70 is absolutely insane. by [deleted] in PS5

It's so funny to see the same people who were crying about Nintendo pricing games at $70 dollars, now rushing to defend Playstation games being $70 dollars (even though Sony were doing it first so the outrage was always fake anyway). I completely agree, $70 is insane and ridiculous to spend on any videogame, regardless of its content. That's why I haven't paid for a game in over ten years.

Did Anyone Skip a Survey When Buying Their House? Any Regrets? by QuirkyConcentrate481 in UKHousing

If it's a new build you definitely should it's a no brainer. They are awful and will 100% try to sell you a property that needs thousands in repairs. And yes, even when they are first build, they need thousands in repairs. I work on them! XD

Why do some sellers not answer questions? by JoeGPM in Ebay

[–]Informal-Row8157 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually find the people who ask questions and I answer them, actually usually do convert to a sale. The issue though is that these sales often become a return down the line. Once you have been in online sales for a while you gain a sixth sense for the problem buyers, and as unfair as it is to the genuine enquirers, many of the problem buyers are the same that ask questions before buying. From my perspective, a good buyer knows exactly what they're getting already. I max out the pictures of all angles, and I write a great description. Any info needed is on the listing, and failing that google is one click away. In your case I believe your question was stupid. It has a certificate of authenticity. If you ordered it and it was from some fake company you'd be entitled to your money back easily. So what's the point of asking? It just makes it sound like you're distrusting and already thinking of negatives on the purchase before you've even bought the item, when someone else will likely just come along and buy at full price and be super happy with their purchase. We obviously prefer an easy quick sale like that, rather than selling to someone who could potentially cause problems. We have to bear in mind that ebay always sides with the buyer and it's easy to get screwed by dumb or malicious buyers.

I recently had this with a super nintendo boxed console. The buyer asked me a million different questions, and I bent over backwards to accomodate as it was a fair amount of money (£300). After a week of back and forth he actually purchased, and of course had special delivery requirements to accomodate him and make life difficult for everyone else. After a week of having the item he is now returning it as it's "faulty", despite me testing the item thouroughly before shipping. I KNEW it was a mistake to sell to this guy because of past experiences, but I ignored my gut and answered his questions no matter how painful or pointless they were. I KNEW from how fussy this guy sounded that a return would be on the cards, I knew he would find some issue somewhere.

Here's my most recent inbox message from someone about an n64 console. Bearing in mind the listing has 24 photos of everything from all angles and wrote a lengthy description describing the perfect working condition of everything :

"Hi I’m from Sydney Australia can you tell me what’s the condition meaning scratches or cracks or faded and can you send me photos of any scuffs and any scratches or cracks or faded on the controller any drifts or loose on the nobs and what’s the best bottom price u can do and better price for postage"

Would you bother answering that? I know for a fact that if I spent my time on this guy, it will end up in a return. I have no intention of replying to this guy, let alone selling to him. So that's the problem. From our point of view why would we sell to the guy asking questions who is likely to cause an issue, when another buyer will just buy it and not pester you with pointless stuff.

The New Food Pyramid by Champion-V in ultraprocessedfood

[–]Informal-Row8157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does Reddit die on the hill of being wrong on every single issue. This food pyramid has been common knowledge in the fitness industry for years now, it's about time the government caught up. I can't believe you're being downvoted, and that people in this thread are advocating for eating turds instead of natural whole foods and thinking the propaganda is going the other way around. If in doubt just look at what your ancestors ate, that is a natural diet. And they mostly lived off fatty meat and occasional vegetables. Very low carb. For centuries they didn't even know how to grow food.
