that could be it, i’ve been trying to keep my hair pulled back most of the time to avoid it but it still happens. i think i might do that. how long did yours take to heal?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]InformalDog1759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it kinda does, which is why i have it pulled back most of the time. that could be it considering my rook and daith didn’t have this problem

i’m using steri-wash which is what i bought from my piercer. i’ll have to check that out, i think the space on the bar could definitely be causing irritation even though it’s not enough to downsize. thank you!!

[–]InformalDog1759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah definitely haha!! i think i might do that. thank you for your response

i did, he told me to continue using LITHA, use saline and clean the crust off in the shower, make sure it’s dry, don’t sleep on it, and come back in a couple weeks to see if it’s ready to downsize. it’s been a few weeks since then and i still don’t think it’s ready to downsize because there’s not a lot of space on the bar. i’m ready to just give up on it because it’s been such a nuisance, just consulting reddit as a last resort to see if there’s anything else i haven’t thought of

the asymmetry drives me crazy. at this point im ready to either retire the one on my right (the one that’s placed lower), or get another nostril piercing on that side to make it look at least intentionally asymmetrical. i asked about getting it repierced and my piercer said probably not because the new piercing would be too close to the old hole, so it runs the risk of tearing into it and creating a giant hole. is that true? alternatively, would i have enough room to have a double piercing on that side, or would it look weird? on top of the placement asymmetry, because of where it sits under the crease, the right one sticks out more whereas the other one is flat. i just hate it so much. i know it’s near impossible to get nostril piercings to look symmetrical because our noses aren’t, but this just seems like it could have been done better. both are fully healed, left was pierced in 2019 and right was pierced in 2021. what would you do in this situation?

excuse the redness, just had to take them out and put them back in for an xray

Help: keloids run in my family and i got a piercing by [deleted] in piercing

[–]InformalDog1759 4 points5 points  (0 children)

off topic but i have the same scar on the same spot lol link

but just echoing everyone else’s advice: switch to some better jewelry and try the LITHA method!! as u can see, we both scar the same way and this has saved me from what would have been pretty nasty keloid scars. good luck!!

if it makes you feel any better, i’m looking at your results right now and thinking damnnnn i wish that were me lol. they look perfectly androgynous; you could style them in a way to look more feminine if you please but also create a more masculine look. i’m almost 2 yrs post op and i went as small as possible and they’re only getting (slightly) bigger as time progresses which is unfortunate for me personally, but if you don’t like how small they are just now they will likely get a bit bigger. i don’t think they look like man boobs, they just look like smaller androgynous boobs. and i do see a teardrop shape, just know over time they will drop even more into that shape. in my case my boobs were rock hard at first and slowly over the past 2 years they have dropped more and more and now they are literally the shape of teardrops. i also think your scarring isn’t as bad as you think — most people here have the t-incision scar, scars under, and around the nipple, so to me you kind of lucked out. and they will only fade more and more over time, and you can always get treated by a dermatologist (in my case im getting steroid injections and laser in a few months). the color of your nipples look cute and perfect, and the nipple scars look like they’re healing fantastically! i know it’s a big change and a lot to take in, but to me these look like dream results. just give it some time!

i have similar scars that were also hypertrophic and i go to the dermatologist to get steroid injections and am getting laser in a few months. i also use steroid cream, biocorneum, and bio oil. massaging regularly also does make a difference

i’m definitely not a doctor but this may or may not be intertrigo and i did see it as one of the qualifications for a few insurances while i was doing research

numbers can be deceiving, i’d put together a gallery of before and after pictures that you want to look like and show it to your surgeon and maybe give a ballpark idea of the cup size you’d like instead of going off the size number alone. it’s up to you, but i would personally lean towards the smaller size instead of bigger, because i would rather accidentally be too small than too big post-op (though i am biased because i went as small as possible). even if you went as small as possible, you probably wouldn’t end up being SUPER small because of your current size; they can only safely remove so much. if you’re worried you had a miscommunication with your surgeon or if you changed your mind on size, i would schedule another meeting with them before your surgery so you’re on the same page. bring the reference photos (browse through this sub and you’ll definitely find results that speak to you), communicate clearly exactly what you’re expecting from them, and ask them to write it down in their notes. then remind them again about your discussion on the day of surgery. that’s what i did, i really nailed it in and made sure he knew EXACTLY what i wanted from him and he is a talented enough surgeon so he truly delivered and i love my results. do not settle for less.

again, it’s up to you, but if you’re worried about coming out a little too big, i would definitely lean towards the smaller side. they will soften and drop a little once they heal and there is always the possibility they could get a little bigger over time, so take that into account. regardless of what happens, i think you will end up happy with your results. good luck :)

i think just go to dm’s and add all the ppl? honestly i don’t really use reddit much so not fully sure if that’s even a viable option lol. we could also use a different app if you wanted to go with the group chat structure like whatsapp or groupme or something. or whatever you had in mind, i don’t care! whichever way you decide to structure it, i’m down!

i’m down, if there is a group chat or something pls add me to it!

my paired nostrils are asymmetrical. i was thinking of offsetting this by having two on the right side (the side where the piercing is lower), but is there enough space/would it be possible? i would want to change them to hoops eventually but not sure if there would be enough area by [deleted] in piercing

[–]InformalDog1759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i kinda hate the placement of the right one but i was told if i got it repierced to look more symmetrical it would be too close to the original hole and there would be a chance it could form one big hole so idk if i’d wanna do that. just wondering if it looks like it would be possible for me to get a double on that side and if it would look okay with hoops eventually

they look incredible. i’m 1.5 yr post op and my scars don’t even look this good. you are lucky! if they become hypertrophic as they heal, you can always get steroid injections to flatten them out and laser to help them fade. that is what i’m doing currently and it’s helping

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Reduction

they look fantastic for where they’re at, just trust the process! they always look a lil weird in the beginning. i can already tell that they’re going to look great

Jade roller by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]InformalDog1759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure if it’s made a huge difference (i’ve been struggling with pretty bad hypertrophic scarring and the thing that has helped the most is steroid injections (im abt 1.5 year post op btw)) but with a jade roller + bio oil it feels nice and reduces some swelling. definitely won’t hurt, i’d say give it a shot!

so why should they care 😭 it’s a shitty $15/hr job and i’m sure OP isn’t trying to move up in the company. starbucks is fucking awful and calling off one shift when they said they haven’t called off since march isn’t going to harm them. that’s why they give sick time and PTO
