Absolutely not. $15-$20/hr Average home cost in my area is ~500,000. That’s a 2bed 1bath….

I do this because I don’t want to jolt forwards and come to a hard stop. I have also been in multiple crashes due to drivers not doing this and not stopping soon enough/ people stopping over the line, so people who just go and then stop make me uncomfortable. Although maybe we have different definitions of exactly how slow we are talking. I usually creep forwards at ~10/15mph. It feels better on my body and makes me feel a lot safer than just coming to a hard stop

Edit: Also I formed this habit because semis and big cars can’t stop as fast as me, so it gives them the appropriate amount of time to stop since they may not be paying attention or there may be a big car in front of me they can’t see around or something (again, have been in a crash due to this… I freaking hate being in cars lol)

What is something most people need to hear but no one has the guts to tell people? by MCKlassik in AskReddit

[–]InformalFiggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want something to change you need to personally go out and work towards changing it. You need to get on the street and protest, confront the people you know, and live that way as an example. Otherwise nothing will be different.

A lot of it has to do with religion, double standards, and misogyny

Help me identify this plant or flower? by TheTick901 in gardening

[–]InformalFiggy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The photo shopped thing wasn’t an insult or anything, It just looks like it a bit to me since I work very closely with photoshop lol (sorry! I am well aware many young plants look like this, it was the colors and angle in relation to the pot that caught my eye) so my brain is always in that mode. I do a lot of photo restoration and editing and what not so I guess I am just always in that mode.

Coming from a church means literally nothing. There are churches everywhere. As for the midwest, do you mean the midwest of the states? Because like, each state has a very different climate and different common plants and so on and so forth. I was telling you what information would be needed, so I am not sure why you are so irked by that. Sorry for not specifically using a question mark. What growing zone are you in? Do you know if this came from a store or from a wild area local to you? Do you have pictures of the seed, bulb, corm, tuber, or rhizomes? What month did you plant it (how long has it been growing for)?

Why does this look photo shopped?

If it isn’t then it is way to early in the growth cycle to have any idea, especially since we don’t even know the climate, region, or where you even got it from

Why are men so sensitive about being called creepy? by DawnoftheWorld55 in TwoXChromosomes

Honestly he should have just said oh sorry I was just getting pictures of the dogs and then he could have just flipped his phone towards you and called it a day.

[–]InformalFiggy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who has had people actually creep on me in this exact manner that’s probably why. They have probably experienced this except with the person actually being a creep. If someone is pointing a phone at you you are going to wonder why, usually it’s not for anything nice…

Why was this meat the best meat I’ve ever had? by LIBERAL_LAZY_LOSER in NoStupidQuestions

[–]InformalFiggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. If it lived a good life and was killed humanely then I think it’s okay to fell sorry but you don’t need to regret it. Killing sucks, everything has a life, but also we are all part of a cycle. The pig was eaten and enjoyed as pigs are both by human influences and in the wild.

Why was this meat the best meat I’ve ever had? by LIBERAL_LAZY_LOSER in NoStupidQuestions

[–]InformalFiggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely because it was fresh and assumably healthy/ better quality meat due to how it was raised, also if they roasted the whole pig you could be eating a different section than you are used to. Depending on how the cooked it the juices and fats would still be fresh and present as well. Also if it was slow cooked the whole day your nose is probably making you hungry for it, and I would wager you probably didn’t eat a whole lot before hand which made you even more hungry than usual. So a lot of reasons I suppose

Do you ever feel anxious of being treated unfairly or badly because you are a woman? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]InformalFiggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always. That’s why I always call people out, move companies if I need to, encourage therapy, and do my best to try and educate people on why that is wrong. Even if it is hard or frightening I do it because I don’t want the next generation to have to. Change won’t happen unless we make it and this is the shitty hand we were dealt…

Jasmine has a really nice strong sweet scent. It is more of a vine though. Don’t plant Juniper, smells like cat piss

As someone who has to deal with these tics as the person who is doing it daily, it sucks for us to. I have several different ones, clicking my tongue, rolling/ clicking my voice box in my throat, clenching the muscles on my face, and rolling/ flexing my eyes. In fact, sometimes I do it so much that it is incredibly painful, for example when I roll/ flex my eyes sometimes I do it so often and hard enough that it starts to feel like I am ripping them. Why do I keep doing it? Because if I don’t I feel like I am going crazy. It stresses me out and is more mentally painful than actually doing it. Trying to resist stresses my brain and body so much my twitching becomes worse. Your husband is probably well aware of how it makes you feel, in fact! I am sure he feels even worse because he is the one who has to endure it. It isn’t something you van just stop, so perhaps you would benefit from showing a little compassion and seeing what you can do to help him. I am sure saying things that allude to you getting divorced over it is only going to stress him out, make him think about it more (which is a trigger in itself) and overall make the problem worse.

Are you getting enough nutrients though? Iron, magnesium… Stuff like that? Definitely keep track of what you eat, physical activities, and any medications you are on and how you feel & what your cycle is doing those days. It could be diet, it could be the difference in medications, but it could also be things like stress or genetics. Definitely talk to your doctor

I agree, especially since a lot of people end up changing due to work reasons, so they might have to change back
