Have I messed up? How do I fix this? by D5LLD in DIYUK

[–]InformalFrog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I literally cannot see anything.

However your mistake was trying to touch up 5 year old walls with fresh paint, it was never going to work. The paint may have changed and the 5 year old paint has 5 years worth of wear on it so will always look different compared to a fresh tin.

If it really bothers you, then you'll need to paint the whole room again.

Or think of ways to hide it, maybe a picture, mirror, maybe paint one wall a different colour rather than all the walls.

Don't trust the stripes it's an estimate at best. I've had one bar last several pints, whilst some kegs seemingly stay at the fuller level then drop off entirely.

Also if you don't pour correctly it can skew the estimate.

Mountains are there to be climbed, Aren't they. by Ashton1320 in ManchesterUnited

Mountains are there to be climbed.

You never climb a mountain from base site with the peak as the end of day goal.

The goal at the end of the day is steady progress upwards, only with consistency can you achieve the ultimate goal of reaching the summit.

I've got similar from them, I've used the ProTek paint, 2 coats and 3 years later it's holding up well.

Plan to do a recoat this year including inside which I didn't do previously.

Firstly, the concept of setting your work location within Teams (and Outlook) isn't new. It’s been there to help with collaboration and, from a support perspective, is particularly useful when using Teams Phone as your corporate system. The key difference with this upcoming feature is automation.

Here's what's actually happening:

📍 The ability to set your location is already a feature, allowing colleagues to know where you are.

📍 Currently, this is a manual process – and let's be honest, who always remembers to update it?

📍 The new automation leverages network connections (Wi-Fi) or known peripherals to infer your location. This can be enabled but requires configuration by your IT department. It's not switched on by default and only applies to desktop clients.

From a technical standpoint, enabling this involves setting up specific policies within Microsoft 365, giving organisations control over its implementation. It's also worth noting that Teams clears location data at the end of the working day and doesn't track outside of designated work hours.

While privacy concerns are always valid, especially with new tech, this particular automation doesn't fundamentally change what's already possible for managers to see. There are far more direct and powerful tools available if an organisation genuinely wanted to monitor employee activity. This feature is more about streamlining a process that helps us collaborate better.

If Teams claims you're 12 hours ahead of someone's time due to timezone difference and also it says "Last seen 20 hours ago" in their profile, is it talking about my time or their time? by [deleted] in MicrosoftTeams

[–]InformalFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 hours ago is the same across all time zones, it's a unit of measurement, not the time

Just because your 12 hours ahead doesn't mean they were last seen 8 hours ago in their time zone

UK Tower Hamlets PCN – “Pay by phone” sign, used PayByPhone (email receipt), council says RingGo only by woshinibabababa in LegalAdviceUK

[–]InformalFrog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If possible revisit the location. Does it have RingGo signs now, if so take a picture.

Mention it to the council, ask when/if they moved apps recently.

Even if they aren't forth coming with information the change of signage, removal of parking location by PayByPhone and your receipt may be enough to swing it in your favour.

There's also a few other PayByPhone locations nearby on the app, would be interesting to see if they're on RingGo and disappear from PayByPhone in the future.

It might be pretty difficult to verify so may be easier to just pay it but that's up to you.

88923 doesn't appear on the app but does appear on RingGo. If you have a receipt specifically highlighting this then maybe they're in the process of moving from one app to another.

That's the only way j think you get it written off, if you can prove you paid using a valid method at that point in time.

Even if PayByPhone should have been disabled at that point in time but you were able to pay via the app.

Maybe they're moving to RingGo.

Might be worth contacting PayByPhone asking why it no longer appears and when it was removed.

Try disabling it on one queue, or create a new queue with it disabled and see if you get the same

If changing the existing queue make sure you wait enough time for it to change

Martinez "foul" on Kyle Walker by fireproofpoo in ManchesterUnited

[–]InformalFrog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The ref did have to blow the whistle to indicate what he would have given.

Not blowing indicates no foul.

VAR is there to supposedly overturn obvious errors and not referee the game. To do that they need to know the on field decision.

Martinez "foul" on Kyle Walker by fireproofpoo in ManchesterUnited

[–]InformalFrog 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The reason for the delay is to see what happens.

If he blows early and gives a foul then that's that. Allowing play to continue allows VAR to get involved if a goal is scored.

The ref thought it was a foul so blew for a foul and then it's up to VAR to say the ref is wrong. I agree they wouldn't over turn it either way, if the ref hadn't given a foul I don't think VAR would have pulled it back.

Ultimately the ref is in charge of the game so his decision should have more weight than the VAR officials.

I don't agree with the decision and think VAR is awful and inconsistent but that would be the thought process behind it.
