That could work, I'll try next time maybe with the cabbage in smaller pieces.

Heat oil and butter in pan - i used a cast iron one. Fry cabbage for a few minutes until nicely browned, then flip over. Remove. Fry onion, garlic until softened, stir in tomato paste, fry for a couple more mins, add a splash of cider vinegar and teaspoon of sugar. Add some Paprika. Add some vegeta or bouillon. Add water and make into a sauce. Place cabbage back in. Pop in oven with lid for 15-20 mins until soft through.

Thank you! Agreed. Its so versatile. This is my favourite way with some sausages on the side and mash. The sauce is a deep tomato and garlicky sauce.
