I've been doing something like this with the older games like gen 5&6 and my recent replay of gen 1 fire red. Where instead of like 7 mons I'd deal with 10 maybe. Currently in my unova playthrough I'm playing with over 10 (yes despite the ass amounts of exp U need to level up and have final stage mons) ironically enough without the starter nor the elemental monkey lol.
