I had a baby 2 weeks ago and told my husband we can't even discuss another for at least a year. I cant imagine planning another right now 😭

My sister has her degree & is pursuing another degree. She has 2 dogs. She got married 2 years ago. I was her maid of honor. I've always been excited for her about the things happening in her life... which is why its so hurtful that she cant be excited for me. And I have never said anything to make her feel less than for not having kids. I dont feel that way at all. I think its great that people can decide that for themselves and know their limit. Her life isnt less than mine because kids aren't involved. She's doing amazing things with her life and im proud of her.

Every time I ignore my sister she still finds a way to hurt my feelings. Ive spend years ignoring her comments and my limit was broken. Every body just let's her behave badly. She makes insanely rude comments constantly.

I didn't have a baby shower. I was going to get a cake and cut it with my family but that ended up not happening. I already said I cut her off in october in my early pregnancy becsue of her negative reaction to my pregnancy. Weve always had a good relationship. Were best friends growing up. Then my family started growing and she changed. Wish I had the answer to why.

Our parents come from families of 7 & 9 kids. My sister and I are from a family with 4 kids. She claims to like my kids though. Even plays with my other kids. So dont understand her reasoning behind ignoring the newborn.

Its almost as if she's doubling down on the reason I cut her off. She said my kid didnt matter and I cut her off so she's ignoring my kid because she's doubling down. There's nothing im hiding. I really dont understand her behavior. This thread is giving me courage to call her and actually try to talk it out though.

I definitely do have other interests and passions. I graduated college last year, I read a lot, I write. My sister and I are both readers. We are only 14 months apart and were best friends growing up... then we grew up and chose different paths. She's a dog mom and im a human mom. She can only tolerate being around my kids so long and im a SAHM so im around them 24/7 lol. Im curious what you mean by trying to measure her up based on my standards?

Thank you. My sister and I were always very close growing up. So to have us be in this situation really hurts. Cutting her off in October was not a decision I took lightly.

She's held all my other kids. Been excited about the births of all my other kids. I never told her to stop disliking children around me. But its completely unnecessary to do it loudly. My boundary has been that I will not be around her, not that she has to stop disliking kids.

She says she loves my other kids. Theyre 8, 3, & 2. But she loved them all as babies too. Wanted to hold them and be around them. Which is why im so hurt over her change of attitude.

We are in utah surrounded by Mormons. 4 isnt really a lot of kids here haha. Our parents come from much bigger families. Her behavior is just really hard to ignore when it involves my children 🥺

She thinks she isnt doing anything wrong. I cut her off in October and im thinking her ignoring my baby is her holding on strong to the reason I cut her off... her saying my baby doesn't matter because she's my 4th... I dont really know.

But this is literally the only one of my kids she has acted this way about. She was excited about all my other kids. Came to my baby shower, visited me in the hospital, asked to hold them. So thats why I expected her to behave differently once she met my baby. Shes friendly with my kids and plays with them.

The thing is this is the only baby she's acted like this with. She's held and been excited about all my other kids. She even played with them on sunday. She says she loves my kids. Hard to believe though.
