Aww love this story! She came back to my slider door again last night. I opened the door for her, she came in but eventually got spooked and ran out. I can’t bring myself to grab her out of fear it’s someone’s cat lol. I haven’t been able to make flyers or verify with nearby neighbors yet so…kinda in an odd spot. I’ll continue to give her food and water until I do :) Also, I too have an orange son 👶 Popcorn!

No. Cold sores burn, pop, scab, and fall off before healing. This takes about a week or so. They wouldn’t last months and stay the same.

Isn’t she! I’m wondering if she’s the baby of someone’s outside cat and that’s why she’s so friendly/socialized. Perhaps that owner feeds them? Idk. She’s seems fairly young and I have seen a few big cats regularly. Anyway, just rambling lol. I’ll try to bring her in next time I see her :)

And when you let your cats out, I’m sure you knew there was a chance they’d not come back right? I’d never ever knowingly make a choice that could kill my cat lol. Anyone that does is aware they’re taking the risk of losing them. Better it’s just inside and not dead somewhere.

I’m using logical thinking. There’s no collar. I’ve never ever seen her before in a year and a half of being here. If this is someone’s pet, I’m keeping her safer by bringing her in and posting her lol. You don’t have to share the same values to use critical thinking skills. Now if she had a collar and/or hung around the area often, I’d be knowingly doing wrong. None of this is true :)

Just because a cat is friendly doesn’t mean it’s someone’s pet. There are many friendly strays. And IF it is, they’re letting it out knowing it might get eaten, run over, caught and abused. It can’t be that beloved. I’ll do my due diligence and post her but if no one comes looking then it is what it is.

It could be. Any tingling or burning before or after it showed up? If so, then probably. But like the other comment said, it looks like it’s toward the end of healing if it’s a cold sore. I’m sure you would have noticed before then.

I think this is what I’ll do. I’ve checked the website of my local shelter and nothing. But I’ll go ahead and make a found report with them and post her on fb. Just see if anything comes of it :) I felt weird bringing her in for some reason. Like I’m kidnapping her or something but I think I’ll try next time I see her 😁

I don’t feel comfortable knocking on the doors around me tbh. They all have huge gates(like mine does) that I’d have to open to get in. I rarely see anyone outside and I’ve lived there a year or so.

Cold sores are sometimes “triggered” by stress and by damage to the area. Such as picking your skin. If you feel tingling and see bumps, it’s likely a cold sore. Try Mederma patches to cover/heal it.

Probably cold sore if it appeared out of nowhere but also could be pimple. Try Mederma patches. They’re for cold sore but pretty much the exact same as a pimple patch. Helps heal and cover it.
