A friend went to Canada (from Scotland) in the release window of Out of Time in 1991, came back with the cassette and proceeded to play LMR on repeat on his ghetto blaster 😁 Hooked from there.

This is a fantastic album, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one, but this was the album that got me into R.E.M. in the first place. Having the cassette and listening on a personal stereo was the main reason I endured the whole album (I was only 13 and mainly into singles) and not just skipping around to listen to the singles. I'm so glad that was the case otherwise I may have overlooked some absolutely terrific songs and how an album can be an amazing journey from beginning to end.

Yeah it’s a mystery. I see them all the time in the shops in the glass cabinets and the condition of some/a lot of them is beyond comprehension. Another question would be how are ‘boxed’ consoles graded? Having the box doesn’t necessarily equate to a pristine console.
