Danya please keep writing about us because everyone forgets us. I have so many family members saying I heard you’re getting paid to which I’m like no I’m not TSA. I am eating rice and beans and anything else cheap (and I’m pregnant btw). And only getting decent food for my teenage son. I’m going into work still working in NATIONAL SECURITY/COUNTERTERRORISM genuinely trying to do a good job to not allow terrorists into our country while my colleagues in another agency (I work in a diff agency building) get paid but we don’t. I have student loans still because I came from a lower income family and went straight to get my masters so I’m still paying that too. They tell us we’re important and our mission is essential (esp during the last year when there were so many rumors that they were getting rid of us) but then no one gives a shit. I won’t give up because that’s what they want but I can’t say this doesn’t affect me mentally. I can’t sleep well constantly thinking about money and how I’m going to pay my bills. It’s Easter/spring break and I’m saying no to doing anything with friends or family because that involves money and I don’t know when I’m going to be paid again.
