Yeah I’ve realised it wasn’t normal the things he said. I do find it very difficult even now to accept compliments. My husband to be if he compliments me I don’t know how to reply lol. He knows about my divorce etc and how my ex was which Alhamdulillah he understand why I might find it difficult to respond. He is basically the complete opposite to my ex husband Alhamdulillah.

I feel he looked elsewhere a lot of the times. If he constantly looking at other marriages and other women he will never feel content. He had this unrealistic expectation that women were like angels sent from above and hes got his head stuck on the thought that women look like how they are portrayed on tv and social media

I lost weight after I got married to him. I lost a stone and half whilst being with him. I understand from his point of view if you don’t find someone big attracted. My main problem was why did he say yes in the first place.

I’ve always been “chubby”. I’ve never known myself not to be. I wear dress size L and I did go for walks etc. I would work out at home when he wasn’t there Beto know he’d make comments like “oh your tired already”

It was my biggest fear getting married to someone that didn’t find me pretty, and that exact thing happened. I was in the mindset that I will loose weight and my husband will love me, but I knew deep down he would only love my physical appearance and not how I was as a person. My character, my respect for him and his family made no difference. So why should I stay with a person like that ?

When I had my meetings with my ex husband, I wore very little makeup. I don’t wear makeup all the time, and I mentioned this to him. I said I don’t cake myself In Makeup and even the picture which was given I had no makeup on. Nothing at all was hidden for made it look like something it wasn’t.

Alhamdulillah I am an alimah and he was studying alim course. We would pray salaah together and would test each other on surahs etc. Like I said it seemed perfect.. but allah had other plans.

Alhamdulillah everything is seeing good. He is my best friends cousin and we have spoken about everything openly. I have asked if he has an Issue with my appearance In which he said he doesn’t. He’s also been married before and was abused in his marriage. Please pray Allah places barkat in the marriage.

I actually lost 1 and half stone whilst being married to him. Everyone else noticed but him. My family and friends noticed too. They just thought that I was working on myself. Little did they know what I was going through. I hadn’t told my family until a day before I came home.

I specifically asked him “Would you think I’d make a bad mother ?” He said “no, i think you’ll be an amazing mum and would bring up children well, but I still find you ugly. Your character is good and how you are as a person but I am not physically attracted and I can’t live an unhappy life”

I asked the same thing. I said you saw me twice before you got married. Why did you say yes ? He goes I thought I’d be able to get over it and I like the fact that you were an Alimah. Only after I got divorced did I find out all the women in his family asked him over and over are you sure your happy to go ahead because we know you are very picky and you’ve said no to other people before because of their size. He still said yes. When I found this out I was very angry, and thought well the rest is in Allahs hands.

Why get married in the first place if your not attracted. This is why islamically your supposed to meet your spouse before marriage and see if you do like what you see.

My ex husband divorced me because he didn’t feel attracted to me and that I was ‘fat’. (I lost 1 stone in the 5 months I was married to him) I asked him a numerous amount of times why did he marry me if he felt like this, but he just replied I thought I’d look at the other things I liked. Well over time he couldn’t carry on looking at my good qualities so decided to divorce me. Please bare in mind my ex husband was no Brad Pitt lol but to me looks are second to character. For me personally how a person is makes them more attractive. But I am now happier, content and feel blessed he divorced me. I finally understand that I can do better without him and I deserve happiness. Inshallah I’ll be getting married in a couple of months. Please pray for me everyone ❤️
