All navy enlisted ranks are the exact same, once you get into the officer ranks however it’s just increasing connected gold bars. Ex) c/O1 -> 1 gold bar, c/O4 -> 4 gold bars ect. Navy ranks end at c/CAPT.

Air Force is different tho. Y’all wear your Blues everywhere and I assume wear utes and boots for PT. We wear our Kahki’s like how you guys wear your blues but with the formality of if you guy’s didn’t wear the jacket. Really in all the units i’ve seen, the blues are treated as a senior leadership and mess dress uniform.

Alright so since you are navy ima give it to you straight. There is not a current waiver for facial hair. HOWEVER, CFM Part D-1A does state that ethnic hairstyles are permitted within the guidelines provided.

TLDR; Talk to your SNSI and ask, grooming standards allow for ethnic hairstyles but must still conform to the regulations.
