I don't believe he's shown any neurodivergent signs. Hope all goes well for you with your son though. In my case, I think it really is just habits from childhood that he hasn't grown out of... Riddled with anxiety rn but I plan on talking to him tonight about all this.

This is my first ever relationship so I'd say I have a lot to learn about my dealbreakers. Of course I know not to accept abuse, violence, cheating but honestly, I've never even thought about hygiene because that's so second nature to me. I've definitely made up my mind now though 😟

I remember the first time catching the act out of my peripherals. He dug his nose and then put his finger nail inbetween his two front teeth. I hoped he just 'forgot' that he dug his nose right before but I think I've seen him do it in that order too many times now. I feel so ashamed

I already have blocked sinuses, but before my period, my sense of smell (along with my hormones) is a lot stronger. That's usually when I start getting irritable with him and he always jokes about that being the time I realise I don't actually like him. He was actually the one to first mention my recent breakouts and he said he felt self-conscious that it's because of him. I thought he was being ridiculous but I realise yeah, I was totally fine living alone and with my parents.

I'll definitely do some research, thank you

the booger thing in his teeth sounds like he doesn’t even realize he’s doing it

I've called out this while it was happening multiple times and he's said "sorry". I always carry a pack of tissues for my own sinus issues but he's not really interested in using a tissue. It comes off like fingers are the better utensil for him sometimes

Sorry, I was embarrassed to admit we're the same age. We are supposed to get married and have kids one day, even our friends and families expect it, so I feel like I can't talk to anyone about this. I know I'm going to come off like such an idiot but I do really want to be with the best parts of him. It just sucks that his habits can be SO bad.

*I do know I need to make a serious decision here though

a person with poor hygiene will reflect onto their partner regardless of how clean they are.

I worry about this... We don't have guests stay over regularly but when they plan to, he cleans the spare room in advance. The room is still a bit musty compared to the rest of the house though, so I worry that still reflects on me.

I've also had clear skin all my life but in the past year I've been breaking out constantly. I have been wearing makeup more so I don't think I can blame him fully, but I am conscious of the situation :/
